After years of heavy foot traffic, hurricanes and the natural progression of these enchanting phenomena are natural pits, or sinkholes, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. Once inside, you can see geological formations such as stalactites and stalagmites, which are spectacular. The word “cenote” was derived from the Mayan word “dzonot,” which means "sacred well" because they were considered the entrance to the mystical Mayan underworld. In and around Cancun, you’ll have many magical water systems to choose from. You can swim, float, jump in or just chill. There’s nothing quite like them.

The majesty and influence of the Mayans here is undeniable and continues to attract travelers time and time again. The iconic stepped pyramids, along with the history and mystique of the Mayan culture can be felt–and seen–nearly everywhere: Tulum, Chichen Itza and Coba are great ruins to check out. Children under 12 years old will need to be with a paying adult during the activity. Not recommended for kids under the age of 5. In case a child is not able to do all the activities because of young age, or decides to leave the platform before the program is over, partial refunds do not apply.

Cruise along the beautiful mangroves and glistening waters of Nichupte Lagoon on your very own mini-speedboat! This Cancun must-do activity also takes you snorkeling in the crystalline waters of the Mexican Caribbean for up-close encounters with colorful sea life. After you finish snorkeling, you'll steer your boat back to the marina for one more chance to feed your need for speed. What a ride!
