    Family vacation

    Great place to vacation. We really enjoyed our stay. Service staff was great always friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of food and drinks. Plenty of Chairs on the beach and the pool.

    Vacation

    As always our vacation January 19, 2025 was excellent. The staff is superior. They are kind caring and extremely professional. We have stayed at this hotel since it opened in 2012. We travel to this hotel at least 4 times yearly. The food and all services are superior. We highly recommend this hotel.

    Not Bad but not great.

    We just got back Jan 25th 2025, over all our experience at this Riu was nothing more then Average. I have nothing really bad to say about the place just a few things that could improve. The Building decor is starting show it's age as it's out dated with the Purple and stained glass pink everywhere. The rooms are outdated but clean. Room service was great as they cleaned our room everyday and never had to wait for it to be done. All the rooms are facing the ocean but the bottom floor you wont see much of ocean because of the tall trees. The food and drinks are average as expected for RIU hotel's as they never really have amazing food or drinks at these places. Staff was great and friendly always wanting to please the guest, entertainment is good with the pool parties almost daily at the RIU Caribe right beside. The grounds of the resort outside is kept nicely maintained. The beach is nice always were able to get chairs. Pools are good but just starting to look a little older but nothing to complain about. It rained most of the time we were there so having to be inside was becoming groundhog day so was feeling a little bored just sitting in the lobby. Dinner reservations is first come first serve and it was easy getting in to eat at them all. Steak out we ate at twice. Very good steak!!! We used Canadian transfer to pick us up from the airport and from hotel at the end of trip and I highly suggest spending the extra money as you don't have to wait on the bus and drop everyone els off before your stop. We went on the water Taxi over to Isla Mujeres even though it rained it was well worth going. we rented golf carts and drove all around the island. The beach there was beautiful. Over all due to the weather and getting a bad cold flu on our week away the resort like I said is Average. For people who are not picky this place is perfectly fine but If you are at all finicky don't book here. This hotel runs on the more party vibe. This Place would be great if they updated the rooms and main lobby The mixed drinks and wine could improve as its too sugary, the wine just was weak Hope my review will help anyone trying to decide to book here or not.

    Nice Experience

    Was a great trip staff was so friendly and helpful, nice beach, felt safe whole time. Had top floor views were spectacular, food was top notch. Been to a lot of all inclusive resorts, for the money this was the best experience yet. Attractions suggest Xplor and a day trip to nearby isle Mujeres. Liked that big parties next door so could enjoy, then head back to quiet Palace Peninsula room.

    Winter getaway

    Short trip to get out of the cold New England weather. Have stayed here many times and feels like home away from home. Unfortunately the Cancun weather didn't cooperate as it was a cool rainy and windy stay. Food service and amenities were excellent as usual. Special props to Marcelo at the adult villas pool for his exceptional service in less than ideal conditions.
