Tee up at the Cinnamon Hill Ocean Course at Rose Hall for the best golfing challenge in Jamaica. This championship golf course on the historic Rose Hall Estate offers a unique and challenging golfing experience with views of the Caribbean sea and Jamaican countryside.

Set on the Rose Hall Estate sugar plantation with an old, winding aqueduct that was used to grind sugarcane. Looking closer at the aqueduct, you can see it’s dated 1761. With so much history intertwined with a serious round of golf, this experience is a pure sensational delight.

Grab your cameras for holes #6 & #7, as hole #6 is perfect for an ocean view photo, while hole #7 requires a tee shot over a ravine toward a green surrounded by bunkers and interesting water hazards. Hole #7 has incredible views of the sea and distance mountains.

Tips & Transportation

  • Belly Up to this Local Favorite

Cooked in a traditional-style, open-air barbecue, you'll love the spicy jerk chicken, pork or fish at Scotchies. Your food comes wrapped in foil so you can either eat at the restaurant or take it with you to the hotels. And the prices are reasonable! Don't be fooled by its simple exterior because once you get inside, you'll find a stocked bar, a great staff and plenty of authentic Jamaican flavors.
  • Caribbean Creativity

This 40 year old store is filled with handmade furniture, gifts and original art. Gallery of West Indian Art is most famous for its hand carved wooden animals painted in bright colors with white acrylic polka dots painted on them. You'll love meeting the gallery owners and seeing the eclectic collection of Caribbean art, handmade pottery, tables and chairs designed by noted Caribbean artists. It's worth stopping in to see the creativity, the color and the unique pieces that represent many Caribbean islands.
  • Get Back to Nature

If you're looking to really get away from it all and enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes in Montego Bay, Cockpit County is a hidden gem not far away from the hotels and all-inclusive resorts and is well-worth the trip. The land is mostly untouched and the caves travel deep into Jamaica. You can hike, tour caves, see waterfalls and spend some time surrounded by Jamaica's natural landscapes. You'll want to book a guide for the day so they can tell you all the interesting facts about the area. Grab your camera because the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!
  • Tequila Sunrise

If you're an early riser, or even if you're not, set your alarm and head over to the Hip Strip and catch the sun rising over the ocean. Watching the sun slowly rise over the ocean is a great way to start the day. Afterwards, grab breakfast at The Pelican Restaurant off Gloucester Avenue. This family owned and operated restaurant has been serving food and drinks for almost 50 years!
  • Fun on the Farm

About 20 minutes from the Montego Bay all-inclusive resorts, you'll find Animal Farm. The farm is over 40-acres of forest reserve and home to all kinds of exotic birds and animals. And, yes, the name is Animal Farm! If you're looking for something different to do with the kids, check out this fun farm. And, you can also take on a bamboo raft tour, hike some trails or visit the butterfly house.
  • Airport

There are two major international airports on the island: Kingston's Norman Manley Airport (KIN) in the southeast and Sangster Airport in Montego Bay (MBJ) on the northwest coast. Montego Bay is the most convenient airport to the tourist destinations and all-inclusive resorts of Montego Bay, Negril, and Ocho Rios.
  • Immigration & Customs

Complete the immigration form while in flight. Make sure to fill out your immigration form, including departure information before entering immigration. Otherwise you’ll lose your place in line. Getting through immigration in Jamaica will be time consuming. Keep your travel documents together: immigration form, customs declaration form, valid passport and return tickets.

Once you clear immigration, move to customs. Be prepared for your luggage to be checked. You’ll move to one of three lines: nothing to declare, passengers with items to declare, or special passengers, wheel chair passengers and unaccompanied minors. Items for declaration should be accompanied by an invoice and should be listed on the Customs Declaration Form. Members of the same family may use one form (i.e. mother, father and their children under 18 years old). Passengers over 18 years are required to complete their own Declaration Forms. Passengers are required to present their passport, along with the Customs Declaration Form and relevant receipts, for processing. Payment of duties, if any, may be made using cash, VISA or MasterCard credit cards or certified cheques as well as Multi-Link (debit and credit) cards.
