    St. Kitts’ Majestic Mountain

No matter where you find yourself on the island, you can't miss the massive 3,792 ft. dormant volcano, Mt. Liamuiga. A hot spot for adventurists and casual-tourist alike, Mt. Liamuiga is the perfect place to stretch your legs and take advantage of unparalleled views of the island. Along the way, take time to smell the roses by admiring the mountain's gorgeous flowers, trees and wildlife. If you're lucky, you may even get a chance to see St. Kitts' vervet monkeys. Once you reach the top, you'll get a chance to explore parts of the crater for an insider's view of one of Mother Nature's most powerful geological forces.

  • ""

    Riding through St. Kitts

St. Kitts is a gorgeous treasure that you'll want to experience as much of the island as you can. Seeing the gorgeous rain forests with a local guide is one of the best ways to discover what this quiet Caribbean island has to offer. The landscape is unspoiled, filled with tropical rainforests, rolling hills, mountains, valleys and plains. Taking a jeep tour of this stunning island will make you appreciate its charm and see why it’s one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets.

  • ""

    Lounging on the Bay

St. Kitts' most famous attraction is the crystal blue water. Diving on St. Kitts is ideal for both wreck and reef divers who are looking for remote underwater locales to explore. Local dive operators are ecology-minded and continue to protect the reefs. Most sites are within a short boat ride from shore. The St. Kitts hot spot, Frigate Bay, is packed with lots of water sports for you to explore. You’ll want to stay on the southeastern Caribbean side if you want to spend some time snorkeling, windsurfing or swimming. This side of the bay lets you lounge on the sand with coconut palms swaying overhead. It's the perfect place to experience the laid-back island life. However, if you want a change of scenery, a short stroll will take you over to the Atlantic side of Frigate Bay where you’ll see stronger tides and lush scenery, so grab a Mai Tai and soak up paradise!

  • ""

    Sister Island Adventure

St. Kitts’ sister island Nevis is a short ferry ride away. Like St. Kitts, this island is filled with lots of history, beautiful landscapes and many different beaches to visit. You can also tour some gorgeous sugar mill plantations, some with hiking trails and beautiful gardens. If you're there on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, check out the open-air market in Charleston. It will be well-worth your time to take a day and explore what this tiny island has to offer.

  • ""

    Happy Trails to You!

The island of Nevis has several hikes and trails you can take, some with tour guides and some you can take on your own. At the Golden Rock Plantation Inn, there’s a trail that leads you through tropical foliage, picturesque grounds and forest plants and flowers. The hike isn’t too challenging, so even an inexperienced hiker will enjoy the trail. For those who are ready for a challenge, you can hike up Mt. Nevis. You’ll want a guide for this trek up the dormant volcano. And your tour guide can tell you about the variety of flora and fauna, as well as some history of the island along the way.

  • ""

    A Historic Stay

Nevis is home to five historic plantations that are now restored inns. Visiting one of the inns gives you an up close look at the history of the once booming sugar trade. The plantations are nestled into the hills of Nevis, so you’ll be surrounded by lush tropical foliage, acres of land you can roam and unparalleled views of Nevis. When you stop by one of the plantations, you can have lunch, dinner or a drink while you enjoy the views.

    Discover the Deep Blue Seas

Getting out and discovering Nevis from its bright blue waters will be a great way to spend time on your vacation. For one, the ocean that surrounds Nevis is filled with reefs, brightly colored fish and shipwrecks that snorkelers and divers will love exploring. Because the island isn't overly populated with tourists, the reefs are largely untouched, but there is more to do on this tiny island. If you want to spend some time fishing, the seas teem with mahi-mahi, blue marlin, yellow and black fin tuna and many more. You can also spend the day sailing, windsurfing or taking yacht tours around the island.

  • ""

    Off to the Market

One of the great things about vacationing in Nevis is how easy it is to really experience the entire island. Walking end to end in the town Charleston will take you about 15 minutes. Charleston is full of rich history. It's where Alexander Hamilton was born. You'll love walking around and checking out the architecture and detail of the buildings. One of the highlights of Charlestown is the fresh market in the center of town, and you can see the hub of activity on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Here you can find Caribbean-raised produce, homemade hot sauces and freshly grown spices. It’s fun talking, sharing and sampling the fresh ingredients with the locals.

Soak up The Sun on Pinney's Beach

Beaches are one of the main reasons to visit Nevis, and arguablely, one of the best on Nevis is Pinney's Beach. Stretching out to almost 4 miles, Pinney's has everything you could possibly want from a beach: lovely sand, calm waters and plenty of palm trees to give you some shade. There are beach bars and shacks to provide all the food, drink and entertainment that you can want. However, if you want some escape, the beach is so long that it's easy to find a quiet place all your own. Best of all, this beach is safe for swimming and snorkeling.

Cricket season is between January and mid-July, so if you're in the area around that time, make sure to check it out.
