SNUBA combines both snorkeling and scuba diving, creating an underwater adventure you won't want to miss. You'll get to dive deeper into the waters than you normally would when snorkeling, and it's easy to do and learn. You'll first participate in a 15-minute safety briefing, then you'll gear up in your mask, fins, weight belt and harness. You'll breathe through a simple regulator while your air supply floats on a raft at the surface. Groups of 4-6 people will swim, breathe and explore the underwater. Each underwater dive will last approximately 30 minutes, and your maximum depth is 15 feet, making this activity perfect everyone!

This four acre escape of lush tropical garden is situated only a few minutes away from downtown Nassau. The Ardastra Gardens, Zoo & Conservation Centre is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and features three daily special showings of the famous marching flamingos. Around winding pathways, the informal gardens hold constant surprises - a cozy limestone bench in a secluded corner or the sight of a kingfisher that just flew in to enjoy the view. A footbridge over a pond where a swan mingles with Bahamian ducks and fresh water turtles sun on the shore overlooked by archways of shrubs and exotic plant life. Created by Jamaican horticulturist Hedley Edwards, who later brought the flamingos from the southern Bahamas as a contrast to the greenery, the gardens have matured into a contemplative setting bursting with color.

Bahama Divers invites you to explore the exciting underwater world of Paradise Island and Nassau, Bahamas, where diving is an underwater discovery of natural wonders and incredible marine life. Our afternoon 1-tank trip operates similarly to the AM trip, although mostly in shallower waters so that we can accommodate "Resort Course" divers and can include one of the following Dive Sites:

• Thunderball Reef: One of the most filmed reefs in the world, used during several of the James Bond movies. The outstanding feature here is the magnificent stand of elkhorn and staghorn corals.
• Cannonball Reef: Another site also filmed during many of the movies. This site is also known for its fantastic snorkeling and shallow dive site. Angelfish are in abundance here.
• Angelfish Reef: As the site name says numerous Grey angels, Queen angels, and French angels are to be found here. This site is shallow and abundant for snorkelers and divers alike.
• White Hole: This is a circular patch of sand surrounded with numerous brain coral, mountainous star coral, large flower coral and the typical fish seen on most shallow reefs.
• LTC Barge: This barge sits upright in about 20' of water and can be entered through the wheelhouse; a wonderful site to spend an hour of bottom time observing large schools of small fish along with spectacular angelfish, and butterflies.

An amazing 6-hour cruise with our famous barbecue! Snorkel on a coral reef and visit a secluded beach. Think of a self-contained underwater motorcycle with a large two foot clear dome keeping your head perfectly dry throughout your ride around the underwater reefs. You probably saw them for the first time on the television series "Sea Quest" when they were used as "escape pods" for the crew to abandon ship in case of an emergency. The "bubble" or dome - is large enough for your head and even your hands. This ensures that you can still wear your eyeglasses and adjust them as necessary. It also means that you are breathing normally - through your nose and mouth - without the need of using snorkel tubes or regulators like you would when diving.

The Golden Age of Piracy lasted for thirty years, from 1690 to 1720, and Nassau was at its heart. Here was a tropical pirate Paradise, which attracted the greatest concentration of pirates ever seen in the New World. Nassau was well suited as a pirate base of operations; its waters were too shallow for a large man-of-war but deep enough for the fast shallow draft vessels favored by pirates. From their snug harbour they could employ their hit and run tactics to full effect; they devastated merchant shipping that plied the trade routes just a short sail away. Their pirate gold and goods formed the basis of a thriving community that attracted rogues, merchants and wild women from far and wide. Begin your journey by exploring a twilit quayside where the smell of tar and seawater mingles in the still evening. Hear the water lap gently against the dark wooden ship. In the tavern close by, her crew celebrate with fiddle and song the capture of a rich prize, laden with Spanish gold. Stowaway aboard the pirate ship "Revenge" and explore the lower decks. Discover what life was really like at sea in 1716 among swinging hammocks, stowed cannon, volatile gambling sessions and on-board surgery under the ship's carpenter! It is said that when a pirate slept, he did not dream that he had died and gone to heaven, but that he had returned to Nassau. Emerge from the lower decks to find yourself in the island paradise of Nassau's beachside shanty town. You will also come face to face with the notorious pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read as they dispute their pirate share. Prepare to be boarded by the terrifying Captain Teach and his fearsome crew as you find yourself on the deck of an embattled ship on the high seas among exploding cannon and torn sail.

Scuba diving at Stuart Cove's is fun and easy! Our introduction to scuba diving course is designed for people who want to try scuba diving for the first time. In just 3 hours of our professional instructors will have you diving with them on a beautiful tropical reef. Your program begins with a short presentation that teaches you about the basics of diving, followed by practicing scuba diving skills in a pool or shallow beach area. Then, it's onto a boat for your first dive on a shallow reef. During this dive your instructor will guide you on your first introduction to the Bahamas' magnificent underwater world.

Included: Your resort course includes the use of all diving equipment except a wetsuit. The boat you will travel on includes ice and fresh drinking water.

Excluded: Wetsuit ($10 rental), snacks, other beverages besides water and tips to crew.

With this in mind, Stuart Coves likes to assign divers with similar experience to specific boats so that Stuart Coves can better meet those needs.

Stuart Coves REQUIRES all certified divers to submit the number of logged dives at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled activity date. Failure to provide Stuart Coves with your accurate number of logged dives prior to arriving at the diving facility may result in you being assigned to a boat that doesn't meet your expectations for your dives. 

The Snorkel Bahamas Adventure takes you to an undersea extravaganza of living coral and tropical marine life. In just minutes you'll be swimming with schools of colorful fish in the shallows of Nassau's famous reefs, Hollywood movie sets, or mysterious sunken shipwrecks. Each trip takes advantage of multiple and diverse underwater sites. Your captain will choose two of the clearest and calmest locations to begin your snorkeling adventure. Then if the weather permits and your fellow passengers have the nerve - it's off to snorkel with one of the most magnificent and misunderstood creatures of the seas - sharks! Sharks are one of the most fascinating marine animals you'll ever see. Snorkel with your guide as the sharks swim calmly below you, or if you prefer, watch from the boat.

At SUB Bahamas your underwater experience begins with a submarine orientation by our professional SUB guide. During the briefing you will learn basic piloting skills and simple operating and communication procedures. Following your orientation, you will board our comfortable custom-built 55' support vessel that will take you to one of Nassau's famous reefs. Throughout your submarine adventure, a team of professional SUB guides will supervise and escort you and your friends around a spectacular coral reef feeding the fish along the way and stopping to show participants marine life. Zooming effortlessly around the coral gardens on your personal submarine will give you the unique opportunity to interact with colorful tropical fish and living coral. Custom videos of your submarine experience will be available for purchase after your undersea excursion. To be an undersea pilot you must be at least 12 years old and in good physical health.

Certified SCUBA divers can explore the walls, reefs, and wrecks of New Providence island with the "World's Most Popular Dive Resort" - Stuart Cove's. Your first dive is along one of our many beautiful walls beginning between 40' and 60' and dropping 6,000' into the Tongue of the Ocean. Your dive master will lead the dive to 80ft. for 30 minutes, although we are flexible for those who prefer to stay shallow. Each site along the wall is different and unique in its own way. The wall is perfect for both new and advanced divers. Your second dive is either a shallow reef, movie site or one of 12 wrecks. There are many beautiful reefs each with different coral formations and fish life. You may explore a 100ft. freighter, the famous James Bond wreck, or the Cessna used in the filming of JAWS.

Stuart Cove's Shark Adventure is a 2-tank dive program which introduces thrill-seeking divers to wild sharks and provides you a close up look at these magnificent and misunderstood creatures. There are currently four sites where we dive with the sharks. You will dive either the combination of "Shark Wall" and "The Arena" or the combination of "Shark Wall North" and "The Runway". At either location you will encounter a gathering of Caribbean Reef Sharks on a consistent basis. Your first dive with the sharks is along a magnificent wall where the sharks swim calmly along with the divers in a non-feeding environment. Your second dive is on a large sand patch where the group kneels down in a semi-circle and watches our Divemaster feed the sharks off of a long pole. Dozens of 5'-6' Caribbean Reef sharks swim amongst everyone and come within touching distance of all of the divers (although no touching is allowed!). A video and photos are taken of each dive and are available to watch and purchase once back at the dive shop. High quality digital prints are also available for purchase.

Age Restrictions: Ages 5 or younger are not allowed in program, but can go free as observers as long as accompanied by an adult paying observer. No baby-sitting services are provided. Ages 6 - 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult, either family member or guardian (of at least 19 years of age), who partakes in the same swim session. Guests ages 4-17 may participate as a paid observer on the dock as long as they are accompanied by a responsible, paying adult with an observer ticket.

At Goulding Cay, the water is so clear and the coral heads are so shallow that it’s a top secret filming spot for filmmakers – it’s been featured in James Bond movies as well as in 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. It's easy to find too, just off the island’s western tip. If you're a serious snorkeler, you've got to snorkel Goulding Cay, as it's known as one of the best snorkeling sites in the world. See if you can spot exotic fields of hard coral like elkhorn to complete your snorkeling experience.

There are no travel advisories in effect for Nassau. Flights land in Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), the largest airport in the Bahamas and gateway into the country. It has 30 gates and two runways.

All immigration forms are usually supplied by the airlines. When entering The Bahamas, visitors must complete and sign an immigration form. A portion of this card (returned to you by the immigration official clearing you for entrance) is required to exit The Bahamas. Regarding customs, U.S. citizens out of the country for 48 hours are allowed up to $800 worth of duty-free merchandise. Nassau Paradise Island is one of the few Caribbean destinations that provides pre-clearance for U.S. Customs and Immigration services, allowing flights from Nassau Paradise Island to enter the United States as domestic flights and bypass the normal U.S. Customs and Immigration clearance encountered on most returns from an international destination. Please allow an extra hour for check-in during peak hours.
