    Very average experience, overrated resort

Pros: * Most of the staff are very friendly * Food isn’t too bad * Food on special occasions is pretty good (NYE specifically) * The Dive Masters at the diving centre were fairly good guides to the sites. * The Dive Boat Captain was pleasant and friendly to be around. Seemed very professional. He lost his temper around guests once when staff had obviously not replaced spent tanks from previous days' dives, causing us to have to return to the resort to get more tanks prior to our second dive of the day. Cons: * The front desk isn’t helpful * No ATM at the resort * The soundproof of the room is terrible; we can hear every conversation next door. * The room is very outdated. * Beach towel changing is irritating, and consistently out of fresh towels (I went 3 days without being able to get new towels by mid-afternoon) * Wrist band needs to be on during the whole stay (otherwise USD$30 charge) * “Gourmet” restaurants aren’t that gourmet, to include an obvious fire in the kitchen and a smoked-out patio where guests were seated. * The diving centre doesn’t have the proper equipment (regulator fails, masks don’t fit etc.), suits are all old and most torn or zippers don’t work in multiple places, consistently received tanks that were under-filled or not filled from previous dives while already out in boat, another diver (while 50 ft under) had a catastrophic failure with his rented reg and it ceased working (to include the secondary). * We went over New Year's and were not informed prior to arrival that there would be no diving on New Year’s Day.

    Relaxing Beach vacation

Beach is great..lots of soft white sand and a good mix of sun and shade. Food needs improvement…not tasty and missing “essentials” such as bacon or yogurt at breakfast. Food areas were clean and no one was sick, so my complaint is about tasty quality. Fruit flies at the self serve beer dispenser was a huge turn off, but they seemed to be only at the beer and wine station. Rooms were clean but mattresses were old and hard. Resort grounds were well kept. Staff were friendly. Overall, it’s a reasonable value if you want a relaxing beach vacation.

    Winter Vacation

Winter vacation from the East coast to Freeport Bahamas in January, it was alittle chilly. The resort, yes is older and dated but kept clean. If you want fancy no don’t go here, otherwise I’d compare it to say an east coast vacation hotel. Beach is Great! You can walk either direction about 30 minutes easy. Snorkeling is doable right there at resort. You can swim in the roped off area but be aware that pieces of coral are scattered around and you may want to wear water shoes. Food is eatable, it’s all inclusive so if you’ve been to one before you should understand what I’m saying. It’s repetitive, they do have theme nights but honestly I didn’t see that except in 1/2 of the nightly dishes to match the theme. Beach Bar- daily it has hamburgers, hotdogs and fries, if you’re lucky they had nachos. It opens at 10am everyday. Our guys had to ask for extra shots as they said they never could tell they even got a buzz drinking all day. FYI- if your not VIP or Viva member Top shelf is not available to you so don’t bother to ask. 3 speciality restaurants on site, Mexican (we loved) steakhouse & Italian. All you have to make reservations at guest services. Rooms- I don’t understand the break down of rooms other then yellow is newest no ocean view. Green is vacation club members with best views and brown is some ocean view. I paid for an ocean view but was in the rear of the property with the view of the back of other rooms 🤔. And yes other reviews are correct about hot water for a shower. It’s horrible! Out of the 12 days I was there only 2 nights was the water even warm but only 1 time did it have pressure. If you wanted cold and I mean COLD you would be fine… Advice is try to take a shower in the morning or even at 3/4 the water seemed alittle better. Would I go back… not sure, if I got a free trip sure but I’ve started my bucked list so more islands to see. Happy traveling everyone

Disappointing and overpriced with RUDE reception!!!

Overpriced and massively underwhelming! Whilst most of the staff are super friendly. The reception staff are rude and obnoxious. The hotel is not managed properly as certain parts lack that direction of a properly managed and cared for hotel. The food is very limited with not really much flavour for the carribean! I arrived a day late due to my flight being cancelled and my room wasn't ready. Which I was rudely told I would have to wait! When I asked if I could check out a little later I was told NO unless I paid a further 70$. I wonder if the hotel will pay me 70$ for my room not being ready a day late? The beach towels were old and needed updating. My room never had a working phone or a bed side light. I had to ask three times for this to be rectified and only the light was fixed! On another occasions housekeeping cleaned my room for then to find she had taken all the towels and not replaced them. This took then over an hour for reception to orgainse more towels. Even my room was cleaned it was left still dirty. The beach was nice. The pool was small. The drinks were OK. Very disappointing on the whole!!

    Girls trip at Viva

The resort is easy to get around. The rooms and beds were clean and comfy. Food at the buffet was repetitive but good. You are strongly encouraged to book your sit down meals wayyyyyy in advance as we tried to get reservations the morning of our second day and it was impossible. It was my friends 50 and we had to have the Sunwing rep reach out to the resort managers to get a reservation. Extremely disappointed about the fact that we could not access the dinners easily. It should not be listed online if they cannot fulfill this requirements. Staff was mostly friendly expect one very rude bartended at the main bar.
