One of my Top Favorite All-Inclusive Resorts

My Family and I visited Villa Del Palmar for the first time this January 2025. We chose this hotel for the amenities, all-inclusive and suite options to accommodate our family of 5. Our experience was nothing short of amazing! I was not expecting to be treated with so much kindness and respect. This is why I LOVE Mexico. The resort was beautiful, nicely maintained with several pools that were never too crowded. The beach is close and easy to access from the hotel. In fact, you have an amazing view from the pool area with comfortable lounge seating. I only wish they had a better surround sound system. There are 5 restaurant options and, to our surprise, were all so good! My three teenage daughters who have particular eating preferences, raved about the variety and delicious options. I recommend making all your dinner reservations as soon as you arrive as they fill up quickly. Our favorite was Davino Italian Cuisine. We were blessed with the best waiter Angel Tax. He provided amazing service, went above beyond, and treated us like family. He was the best and we had to visit Davios twice during our visit not just for the food, but to see him again. Besides room service, which was punctually delivered when ordered the night before, there is Caprichos for Breakfast. This is an international buffet style restaurant. We never got tired of this place! There were so many options and new ones introduced daily. Although it is a "help yourself" restaurant, there are servers who check on you often and bring you special requests e.g. Mimosas, smoothies, salsas.. They were all so attentive and helpful. Our favorite servers; Eduardo, Oscar, Manuel and Raul. During our week stay we became regulars, and they all took the time to get to know us. When they learned it was our last morning, they made us a sweet farewell platter with berries and strawberry smoothie shots. My only Villa del Palmar complaint would be the location of the fitness center. It is not conveniently located. It's basically in a basement. Nevertheless, we were there to rest, relax, tan and fill our bellies. We accomplished this, made beautiful memories and new friends along the way. We will definitely be visiting Villa del Palmar again!

Very disappointed- no nightlife at all

Villa Del Palmar is a beautiful resort. It has great food, wonderful helpful staff, and a relaxing atmosphere. The pools and beach are wonderful. HOWEVER, THE NIGHTLIFE is non-existent. It is such a shame that a beautiful resort like this will not spend a small fee to get music, a performer, singer, a dancer or anything else at night. Once you are finished with dinner that is about it. It is really a resort for a family with very young children who have to go to sleep by 8:30 pm or the very elderly who have to turn in by 9:00 as they are so tired for the day. You would think that an upscale resort that charges thousands for an all inclusive stay, cannot afford to pay $100 or $200 to hire a performer for an hour or so. SO DISAPPOINTING. The only nightlife that they have is a carousel for young children. Otherwise, the nightlife choice is to sit outside on a lounge chair and look at the sky, or go to your room and watch TV. At night the grounds are a ghost town. Look around before you choose this resort. There a lot of all inclusive resorts in Cancun that have nightly entertainment. We stayed 8 nights and the only thing to do at night was stare at the Carousel watching the young children on the horses. This resort should be ashamed not to spend a few hundred bucks each night to entertain their guests. Jim

    Villa del Palmar!

Every year our family takes a tropical trip in January. Our family consist of 6 adults and a 2 1/2 year old. We decided on the 3 bedroom ocean front penthouse at Villa del Palmar and it did not disappoint us. It started upon are arrival being met by the private butler service provided by Rafael and Oscar. They both provided excellent service throughout the week, checking on us to ensure everything was perfect. They made all our dinner reservations nightly and took care of all the extra's we asked for. The accommodations were perfect for our family. The cribs they have are small so we decided to rent ours from the local children's store in town ( Baby Gear rentals Cancun) Highly recommend them! We requested some toys for indoors and the beach also some books and they picked the cutest stuff. Our past experience with finding pool chairs all together as been challenging at times, here no problem. Angel, Alejanora and Arad provided excellent service every morning to insure we had towels, chairs and umbrella"s. Totally took all the stress off of us, because we love to sit poolside all day! I can't forget the wonderful bartenders at the swing bar on the beach! Thanks for the excellent hospitality you shared with our family! Adios'

Relaxation and Luxury at Villa del Palmar Cancun: A Peaceful Getaway for Families and Couples

We recently stayed at Villa del Palmar Cancun, a 4.5-star resort located 20 minutes north of Cancun in a peaceful, secluded area. It’s part of the same group as the nearby Garza Blanca, a luxurious 5-star sister resort. As timeshare holders, we’ve stayed at several locations in Mexico with VDP Resorts, but this was our first time in Cancun. Rooms & Amenities We stayed in a studio, the smallest room option. The recently renovated studios are modern, with features like power blinds, but they no longer include kitchenettes. If you want a kitchen, you’ll need to book a one-bedroom or larger suite. The resort has four pools: • Two main pools (one heated, one not) • A smaller adult pool • A kids’ pool with a waterfall-style feature children love For elite timeshare holders, there’s an exclusive infinity pool near the beach and a private beach area. There are also four Jacuzzis (three smaller ones and a large one with a fire table for cooler nights). Poolside service is excellent, and while there’s no swim-up bar, there are standalone bars, including a beachside swing bar. Towels are unlimited and don’t require a towel card, and the Wi-Fi is strong throughout the resort. Dining Dining is a highlight, with above-average à la carte restaurants and one buffet. Timeshare holders can also dine at Garza Blanca, which offers upscale, gourmet options. The all-inclusive plan covers most restaurants, premium liquor, and room service. However, some items like steak, lobster, and Starbucks-style convenience store offerings are extra. If you’re not on the all-inclusive plan, be prepared for high prices—similar to a 4.5-star resort in Canada. We didn’t choose all-inclusive this time as we booked with points, but packages with flights and all-inclusive deals are available on sites like Expedia. Atmosphere & Activities Villa del Palmar is a relaxed, family-friendly resort with plenty of one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, making it ideal for families. The kids’ club is conveniently located by the kids’ pool, and there are plenty of lounge chairs around the pools and beach. Activities include Zumba, beach volleyball, and more, but the schedule is modest. This is not a party resort—there’s little nightlife, and the resort is very quiet after 9 PM (signs enforce quiet hours). If you want a vibrant nightlife scene, you’ll need to head into Cancun. For a peaceful evening, the resort offers cozy seating by fire tables near the beach, perfect for relaxing with a drink. Beach The beach is smaller but clean and well-maintained. Seasonal seaweed can be an issue, but during our January visit, it was minimal. The resort provides free paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkel gear for guests. Additional Notes The resort also features a spa with excellent treatments, though prices are high, comparable to a 5-star resort in Canada. The gym is well-equipped, though it has a slight musty smell due to the tropical climate. The staff are exceptional—definitely 5/5—and the grounds are immaculate, with well-maintained landscaping and ongoing upkeep. Final Thoughts Villa del Palmar Cancun is perfect for families or couples seeking a quiet, relaxing getaway with great service and modern amenities. While it lacks the excitement of larger, more lively resorts, its peaceful atmosphere, well-kept grounds, and excellent staff make it a wonderful choice for a laid-back vacation.

    Great last minute trip

We really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. We loved how quick the room service was, the grounds were gorgeous and the service was very welcoming. There are 2 things we did not enjoy very much: the mosquitoes and the food situation. We were swarmed by mosquitoes both at the front door and on the patio. They were constantly flying around us in the room too. If there were some better management of that it would have made things more enjoyable. As far as the food, most of it was absolutely delicious (especially room service), however access to it with the all inclusive package seemed limited. I wish that when we were booking there were more emphasis on the need to book reservations ahead of time to eat at the restaurants. We thought there was an all day buffet available to us and we longed for one the whole trip. Although service was very good and room service was quick, we didn't want to have to be waited on every time we ate we just wanted to walk in and have some good food. Also, the steakhouse not having a single option to have steak included in the all inclusive option seemed wrong and was very disappointing. The food at that restaurant was also our least favorite. We loved the Italian restaurant but we never had the opportunity to try the Mexican restaurant. The location was lovely if you're looking for a resort to stay at for the majority of the trip but if you want to get out and explore it is very far from a lot of the tourist areas and not all excursions pickup from the hotel so be prepared to pay for a taxi. The room was very clean. We did not like the shower very much. The shower head was large and went everywhere while the tub did not have a closable door or curtain. We had to lay a towel out on the floor to keep it from getting soaked. Although this was a couples trip we did wonder how families were able to bathe their children because the tub was so deep but not very functional. Overall, we enjoyed our trip and we do recommend this hotel for people who want to stay on the resort, those who like to sit down for pretty much every meal, and people who just need a last minute vacation for a good price (like us). However, we would not stay here again mainly because we are people who love excursions so we would stay closer to where the action is.
