What We Love
- The resort is just steps from the gorgeous white sands of Medano Beach, is a great place to pamper yourself.
Things to Know
- Los Cabos and the resort offer something for everyone's vacation ideal: white beaches, world-class golf, thrilling nightlife in Cabo San Lucas and a spa.
Leaving the beach may be difficult, but when the sun is low on the horizon, it's time to think about dinner. Fortunately, you can savor the Los Cabos sunset from your beachside table at Bella California. Penne pasta with a creamy Mediterranean sauce composed of tomato, corn and capers is just one selection from a menu specializing in a fusion of Italian cuisine with California flair. The restaurant is the ideal spot for a romantic meal with your sweetie.
Be sure to reserve time during your stay to pamper yourself with an aromatherapy massage at the Desert Spa. This unique treatment incorporates essential oils from plants native to Baja California. Textures and fragrances of the Mexican desert come together in a delightful sensual experience that leaves you feeling rejuvenated. The 31,000-sq. ft. spa is in front of a sister property next door.
A trip to Mexico and Los Cabos isn't complete without an excursion to Cabo San Lucas. You can catch a taxi, but why not take the time to enjoy the 20-minute walk to this picturesque town square with 200-year-old buildings? After all, you're on vacation and there's no reason to hurry.

Cabo San Lucas by the Capes, descent resort, friendly staff, good food great views of the cape
The resort is average for 4 star all inclusives. It is situated close to the capes at Cabo San Lucas with a 45 minute walk on the beach to the Marina District, The ocean water is clear, weed free and warm although the beach is steep and I would not advise young children or inexperienced swimmers to enter the water here. The slope is easier closer to the marina. The views from the eating areas are awesome. We had a suite on the front corner of the 8th floor so we had a partial view of the ocean. My only complaint with the room was the size of the bed which felt like a double, where we are used to king size beds when in Mexico. Ana kept the room spotless for the entire visit. I found all the staff to be helpful and friendly with a special shout out to Ximena at the adult pool bar and Ricardo Jorge at the Carbon Restaurant. The food was good and the steaks at the evening buffet were great. My only complaint would be the archaic procedure for food and drinks. The staff are taxed with getting your room number, then drink order, then entering that into a computer to get a receipt that i had to sign with name, room number and surname printed before they even started making the drink. They spend more time dicking around with paper work than serving the guests and this is done every time you get a drink or finish a meal. Each all inclusive guest wears a tag that is clearly visible so there should be no need for this time wasting activity. On a number of occasions Ximena was the only bar tender making drinks while 3 other staff were shuffling receipts in the back corner, a seeming waste of staff resources. The sports bar was under renovation and was closed so there were no indoor eating areas. Hopefully that will be completed in the near future. The resort is a combination time share and all inclusive so there was the usual approach for membership but they were not over bearing.

Beautiful beachside resort in Cabo
Pros: -gorgeous views of the sea of Cortez -well kept property, clean and modern -guest rooms are clean and have balconies -rooms have a full size refrigerator and well equipped kitchen -friendly staff on all fronts -overall very enjoyable food and beverages (favorite restaurants: Taco bar for lunch, Neptune for dinner) -nice layout; rooms are a short walk to the pool, beach, or restaurant -Villa del Arco has different restaurants that guests of Palmar can eat at; don't miss out on Neptune -good location: 5 minute ride to downtown (use Uber it is $3-$5 and you don't need to barter or wait for a cab) -The Palmita market is well stocked and nice if you need a couple of quick items from groceries to sunblock. If you are looking to stock up, get a ride to Wal-Mart which is 5 minutes away because Palmita prices are 3x-4x higher. -Secure and safe. There are vendors on the beach and they do try to sell you their stuff but they are harmless and the resort has security at the top of the beach stairway. Cons: -Pre-trip concierge lies. They told us construction at the resort was completed and all restaurants were open. Construction is not even close to being completed and the Sports Bar is closed due to it. -The airport transfer service they offer, Cabo Seasons, failed on our way from the airport to resort. Upon arrival, we were told the shuttle was coming in 15-20 minutes. 40 minutes later, it was coming. 1 hour later, we were told it was coming. Fortunately, another traveler eventually offered us a ride in their private Suburban - thank you Don! -The all-inclusive option of $140 per person per day may seem like a good value relative to the cost of food and drinks but that is because most of the food and drinks are over-priced. A few examples: breakfast buffet is $35 per person, a dinner for two at Carbon was $140, $10 mojitos and $5 beers at the pool bar. If you plan on eating three meals a day there and drinking all day, then it's worth it. We were glad to only have committed to all inclusive a couple of days because there are so many great restaurants and bars off the resort worth experiencing (Misiones de Kino, El Paesa, Maros Shrimp House, Jungle Bar, many more) -You have to sign a check after every order, even with all-inclusive. Even for 1 can of beer. It is inefficient and antiquated. -All inclusive should really be called "partially-inclusive" Make sure you get the details of what is included before electing it. -The chairs around the pools fill up early. People put towels on a chair and disappear for hours. -No breakfast restaurant option besides the buffet. The buffet has lot of good food but kind of a zoo with lines for omelets and pancakes/waffles. The birds are a nuisance under the canopy. Other: There isn't anything going on after 10 p.m. at the resort. Bars are closed and entertainment is over. If you're looking for night life, plan on going downtown or find another resort.

Great stay, construction was not a problem!
Our first time to Cabo and a Villa Property. We were nervous, as we had friends visiting with us. We traded in through Interval to a 1 Bedroom. Very much appreciated that we were not hounded to attend a timeshare presentation. You are able to walk to the marina (or can uber). Views are AMAZING!!! The property and staff were phenomenal from the time we arrived. This was my 50's b-day trip and I was disappointed when we were assigned a garden room. I thought this was all ocean view resort. After a couple days, we checked to see if and ocean front/ocean view rooms became available. Kevin was wonderful to help us to upgrade our room (to 2728). It was a ridiculous price to do so, but we didn't come all the way here to look at another building. We attended a couple of the dinner shows, which were great. We especially enjoyed Grease! Irecema was our server both nights. She was sweet and provided wonderful service! Pools were great temperature. Cool enough to be refreshing, but not cold. I'd guess about 85 degrees. Gustavo, Oscar and Juan Carlos hustled at the pool to keep the drinks flowing. We were at the activity pool one day and then was primarily at the adult only pool. I MUST SAY... Even with the construction going on, it did not interfere with our pool time. (We also could not hear the noise at all l in our room, which was directly above it. ) Food options were good! Tried most of the restaurants during our visit in addition to at the pool and also room service both at night and for breakfast. Alfredo at Carbon and Alejandro at El Patron provided amazing dinner service. Our friends enjoyed the sushi at the Taco Bar. Carmalita, our room attendant, kept our room neat and tidy, refilled the honor bar as needed and always left a fun decoration on our bed. I only wished sooner that we would have known that the restaurants at Arco are part of the All Inclusive. If you are not an all inclusive fan, Walmart is within a mile. We usually do not leave the resort, but felt safe to be able to walk to the marina/lovers beach during the day. As a bonus, we had the opportunity to see a turtle release on the beach in front of Villa Del Arco at sunrise!

Nayeli, Alberto and all the staff were great!
If you are looking for a fun family resort (and also has an adult pool, if kids splashing isn't your thing), and a separate shallow pool for the even younger visitors). We had GREAT service from everyone especially Nayeli who was our pool server, she was so attentive made sure we knew of all the specials available. Also, Alberto who arranged for special surprise dessert for one of our guests birthday, remembered us, they both did from previous visits and went above and beyond! We were also given great service when we checked in with Lili. Carlos thank you for great beach service too. Mauricio, Micael, Adrian and Antonio thank you for great service too. You all are superstars! Always a great vacation at Villa de Palmar and all their resorts.

Amazing week at Villa Del Palmar
Visited Villa Del Palmar this week with my family and close friends. Part of the trip was to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Alberto and his team went over and beyond to make sure she/we felt special. Nayeli our pool waiter provided such fast amazing service. All other staff, Carlos, Luis, Antonio and Israel made sure we were taken care of too. It’s always an added treat when you get impeccable service. Can’t wait to go back!
