Waterpark Awesome! Everything else, so so.
Rooms were average, we had a huge toilet mishap that had poor staff communication. We lost a few hours of our sanity over 3 days due to this problem. We received a small credit for the problem. Our new room had a worse view and 2 elevators down. Took forever to go up and down! Service was so so across the board. We hated the Lost Cuty Escape. Rude and not fun. Service could have made this an enjoyable time. We LOVED the waterpark. Main purpose for our trip and wish they were more service oriented.

Broken Elevators, Poor Service & Not Worth the Hype
Major Issues with the Hotel. If you’re traveling with a baby, newborn, or kids—or if you use a wheelchair—I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. For our entire 7-night stay, we had to carry our stroller up and down a long flight of stairs because the main elevator leading outside the resort was broken. When we approached the front desk about this issue, their response was dismissive—they simply told us there was nothing they could do. A resort of this size should have priority access to elevator technicians, and such a critical issue should be fixed within a day. From what we’ve heard, this seems to be a recurring problem. Rooms The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the rooms clean and tidy with daily service. However, the pillows were uncomfortable—synthetic and cheap-feeling—which made sleeping less enjoyable. Waterpark We visited in January, and while the lines were short, about four slides remained closed for our entire stay, with no explanation provided. Spa The massage was relaxing, but unfortunately, not all of the spa amenities were open. Gym The gym was well-equipped, offering treadmills, bicycles, a squat rack, dumbbells, and various machines—no complaints here. Staff & Service The overall service at Atlantis was disappointing. We’ve traveled extensively, and compared to other destinations, the staff here seemed indifferent and unhelpful. Every time we had a question, it felt like we were inconveniencing them. Our friends, who traveled with us, experienced the same lackluster service. Atlantis used to be a premier travel destination, but with increasing competition in Nassau, it’s clear why many people are now choosing alternative hotels. The only real draw is the waterpark, but with multiple slides shut down and the ongoing frustration of dealing with accessibility issues, we would have booked elsewhere. Final Verdict We would not recommend The Royal at Atlantis.

Excellent stay. Deanza Moss & the VIP guest services team were awesome.
We were at The Royal this week for my wife's special birthday. Deanza Moss and the VIP guest services team were very helpful, accommodating and charming to my family while we were there and made it an excellent stay. Even before we got Deanza helped set up the room with a banner, delivered special cupcakes for the birthday and treated us very well, making us feel special! The property was terrific, and our daughter & us had a fabulous time there. Thank you for putting together such a dedicated, helpful, supportive team. We truly enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend this property.

Atlantis newlywed trip
Our off season visit was overall very enjoyable and we could not recommend the sea lion experience more. That and the pig islands were the stars of the trip. Rooms and the hotel were very nice. Getting around was fairly easy and you’ll be familiar with the grounds after your first full day. The water park was slightly disappointing due to 2 main slides being down and the river not working properly all the time. What was open was still very fun and the pools are excellent. We knew the prices would also be high going into our trip but kept finding surprises like the 15% tax on all dining including fast food, grab/go, and pizza. On top of that is another 10% VAT tax on most purchases as well. It was an overwhelming amount of later costs that could be better built into the room charge and more upfront. The hotel staff was wonderful, but I didn’t find the same welcome in the casino and the table minimums were very high for off season. We were also very interested in the escape rooms when we first got there but after discovering the cost we couldn’t justify it for two people because they charge a minimum of 3. Couples be warned. It’s a family resort but that is such a fun couples activity too we were surprised by the 3 person minimum. The man made beach and water activities is also extremely expensive in off season and saw almost no one doing any of them. They could do without it and add more water park space with a smaller beach and snorkeling still. The hotel grounds, pools, and aquariums were fantastic! Just being there and walking the grounds night or day is so much fun and is for everyone. I would recommend Atlantis to families and couples to try once but I cannot imagine peak season lines and how much worse that could’ve made the park experience. I would find most families being burned out by costs after the first couple days as well, that they would decide to do less and stick to the free resort options. The Bahamas though overall was very nice and we also enjoyed two different pig island experiences which is a must do in the Bahamas. If we were to go back I’d stay somewhere else in Paradise Island or maybe just over the bridge and do more over the bridge and out in the ocean. Skip Atlantis if you’re not a gambler or into water parks and aquariums. But you will not be let down by the beautiful scenery throughout all the Atlantis hotels and grounds. Don’t miss the Dig, the predator tunnel, and all the aquariums and pools.

Atlantis Royal Not Perfect for Couples
The experience at Atlantis Royal is best left to families. Couples looking for a getaway together would feel more comfortable at the Cove. Restaurant service and food was good but reservations were difficult to book and expensive. Pools are nice. Spa service was excellent. Overall a relaxing experience.
