Good but not Great
Good things first, staff are really helpful and accomodating. From the front desk who helped us change rooms since the first room didn't work for us, to all other hotel staff who never failed to say a greeting whenever they see us. Special shout out to David, the f&b manager. He took care of us from day 1. The rooms are great, although small. The grounds look great. It feels like you're in the jungle and the beach at the same time! On to the not so good things, concierge called us to offer some things. Offered a free massage and we asked what the catch was. Said that all we had to do was visit their sister company with the same name "The reef coco beach resort" spend a few hours there and tell your friends and family about it. Failed to mention there's about a 3hr presentation. We've wanted a massage eitherway, so we went to their spa (OME Spa) actually PAID for their service, but unfortunately got a very unsatisfactory massage. We did go for relaxation rather than deep tissue, but all they did was douse us with massage oil, start with a good pressure and just when you think it gets better, they stop and move on to other areas. Couldn't even get a chance to tell them if you need more or not. They gave us a "free" facial, but the amount of product they use on the face is laughable. It's like when i'm running out of my face products and trying to squeeze all of it out. My face left dryer than when it's winter here in Canada. For the price i've paid, which is way more than i pay here in Toronto, i expected way more and just got basically nothing. Buffet food is just 'meh'. Nothing special. Same thing everyday. Best thing is their Mexican Grill that had to be reserved. I suggest before breakfast, that you reserve first since it fills up fast.

beautiful grounds and service, everything else so-so
Grounds and service - 5/5: My favorite part of the resort is the grounds. It was so nice walking around the lush, forest-y and just gorgeous pathways with water refill stations every few meters. They are a bottle-free resort which i liked. The staff were all quite lovely, shoutout to David the f&b manager and Santos the bartender! Beach - 3.5/5: not the best but still pretty. i love that they have beach chairs under the coconut trees Room - 3.3/5: a bit dated but nice. we travelled with a baby and was first put in a heavy traffic area so we asked to be moved to a quieter room which they accommodated easily. we were on the 1st floor at first and the water pressure was great but it was bad on the 3rd and the shower wasnt draining properly. views were great higher tho. Food - 3/5: the mexican grill was fantastic!! must try. buffet was okay Ome Spa 0/5: dont even think about it. the price was expensive and it looked like a beautiful spa so i thought id be getting a luxurious experience but it felt like i got an amateur massage. no water offered before or after either. literally the worst massage i've had even including the cheap ones

Amazing Experience with Adela
The food was not great, but the staff were really friendly. At first it was difficult to get a dinner reservation, but after the first day we learned to get up straight away and make a reservation. One of our favorite experiences was our service with Adela near the Tezmezcal. She was amazing. She has so much positive energy and she transmits it to you. It was a special experience. Gracias Adela
