Dont stay at The Coral - Enjoy the resort, activities, shopping and food

The Coral is not a good hotel. Staff was rude and the rooms in disrepair. Management is not guest centric. The report is great and lots for the family to do. Dolphin Cay is a fun family experience and the restaurants are well executed. Seek to stay at the other hotels.

Atlantis my only getaway for years!

My family have been going to Atlantis for years and I mean since the time they opened. Its a beautiful place to have a vacation and the staff are extremely helpful; kind and professional. The weather is spectacular and the whole experience is just exactly what you need to unwind!

Beautiful aqua facilities but numerous crowding issues at peak season

The aqua sports and activities are fantastic for all family members. However, be aware that the Coral rooms are quite outdated. There were also many crowding problems during our stay. We had great difficulty getting chairs around any of the pools, and could not get a reservation at any of the property’s restaurants. The resort needs more reasonably priced food options, particularly for families.

    Wonderful tropical vacation

Beautiful resort. Not for those on a tight budget. Loved the diversity of activities. There are Facebook groups that are very informative for planning purposes. Lots of walking. It was spring break and The Coral was packed. It’s not a quiet area but fun for families. Walking around the hotel is lovely - turtles, sting rays, fish.. staff was pleasant and responsive. Our room was gorgeous but we did hear the music from. the teen night club each night as we were right across from it. We had a 2 bedroom, ocean view regal suite, for five people and it was great. Gorgeous views. Totally worth the extra $ we paid. Food was very expensive, and not amazing, but we don’t eat out a lot normally so are used to more fresh food. The resort really does try to provide a variety. No food is included. Tap water at The Coral tastes like ash but there was filtered water and ice stations all over. We filled the free bottles they gave us with ice each morning and drank water from them all day. It was fine! Considering the thousands is people visiting the property each day, the resort was reasonably clean! The shops do sell water shoes and waterproof phone lanyards if you want them. Snorkeling off the beaches is fun - lots of fish hiding in the sea grass. May go back some day without the kids! The Coral is literally across the street from marina village which is great for family friendly restaurants, shopping, ice cream, and a very fun parade. Also, the yachts are lovely to admire. Get The Atlantis App - it is extremely helpful!

Great resort, lots of food options - careful of the beach vendors

Overall, we had a great stay at the resort and would go back. We opted to stay at the Coral Hotel and we were not disappointed (there was about a 2K difference in the Coral and the Royal at the time). The hotel rooms were spacious and clean, and having a small mini fridge was helpful. The balcony facing the marina was a little noisy because of the rooftop AC units, so I’d opt to face a different way next time but having somewhere to sit, hang clothes, etc was great. The hotel is close to many of the restaurants, has a family friend vibe and lots to see and do. Just walking around the resort was amazing – so many difference places to go & explore. There are plenty of options for pools or the beach. Our kids (4&6) found the pool temperate to be quite cold (especially when it was cloudy or there was a breeze). You have to get out early to get a good chair location – and it can be very frustrating to see chairs ‘reserved’ without people for hours on end. The resort should do a better job monitoring this. There are lots of restaurant options ranging from pizza ($7 USD a slice) to filet ($80 USD), and everything in between. Our favourite reservation was Silan, and least was the steak house (extremely overpriced in our opinion). Bimini Road was also a great one. Cocktails are on the pricy side (~17.50 USD when tip and VAT is included), while beer ranged from $8.75 to $10. For cocktails – some of the places had already premixed sitting in the fridge, while some made on the spot (which tasted much better for the same price). We grabbed some beer and wine from the liquor store located just outside the resort boundaries which we packed in our cooler bags when we headed out. We also picked up some other items at the grocery store (however stock is very limited). Not any fault of the resort - but we had our daughters hair braided by one of the beach vendors and there was some confusion on the price. They tried to charge us $225 USD (she has about 1/3 of her hair braided), we negotiated down to $150 USD. My advice is to agree on amount or range up front. We had read online that the going rate was approximately $70 USD. Not much we could do since the service was done.
