Total relaxation in a stunning position

It was our third year back to The Club and it once again lived up to all expectations. The food once again was excellent, especially the a la carte evenings. Being able to interact with the chefs on buffet nights is so much fun and to be able to let them know how much we appreciate their cooking is clearly so well received. We walked everyday to the stunning beaches to be found on either side of the hotel - it is so not an issue not having a beach directly in-front of the hotel. Those that do, a little further along from here, are more crowded so - no thank you! Sitting at the beach bar this year provided so many laughs with Shaquan and Owen. They just get the balance right between being very professional but equally loads of fun! Kareen is faultless in her service alongside Guy and the wonderful Vinny. We took part in a guided walk this year with Geraldine which I would highly recommend as she is a font of local knowledge. Our was a ground floor ocean suite which was not quite to our taste so will attempt to be allocated a first/second floor next year to avoid having to keep curtains shut when in the room - we also missed the stunning views out to sea from balcony. Final shout must go to the waitress staff in the restaurants who work so incredibly hard and really do make the holiday for us. Joycelyn, Marcia and Tahila are beautiful souls. Thank you to the whole team for another truly fabulous holiday.

    Paradise!

This is a wonderful place. I love the layout of the pools being separated by beautiful foliage shrubs and trees. There were always plenty sun beds available . The rooms too, are carefully structured so as not to be staring into each others windows or sharing a patio or balcony. They are also spotlessly clean. The staff are lovely. They are warm, welcoming and extremely helpful whenever possible. The food is excellent. It is tasty, well-presented and always beautifully fresh. Producing a variety of dishes three times a day cannot be easy, but the chefs here did just that, offering a good range of both hot and cold dishes. Enid's restaurant is superb too. We both loved our time here and would love a return visit one day.

A fantastic hotel with a relaxing Barbados vibe!

We are leaving today after 8 nights at The Club Barbados and we honestly cannot think of one negative to say about it. I’ve just read a previous review who said it felt like a holiday camp - i’m shocked because nothing could be further from the truth! The food is top class - we haven’t had a bad meal the whole holiday. Every single member of staff is so friendly and happy to chat with everyone. The bar and waiting staff work so hard and always have a smile and a chat. Thanks to waitress Vembe for rescuing my phone that I left at breakfast! The pool area is beautiful and chilled. The 2 pool guys are great! The gardens are well looked after and our room was perfect with a lovely big balcony. There is a lovely lady working in the little hotel shop - but because the door is shut it always looks closed so we never saw anyone but us go in! Its a shame the beach was washed away in the storm a couple of years ago - you wonder if it would be worth them dredging the sand to make a beach again as that would be the only thing we can possibly think of that would improve the hotel for beach-loving people. It didn’t matter to us! This hotel has a lovely laid-back Barbados vibe and we really can’t recommend it enough. We went for Afternoon Tea at Sandy Lane hotel next door - and while it was beautiful there, we couldn’t wait to get back to The Club Barbados!! We have had a lovely holiday.

Felt more like a holiday camp than a high class resort

We had a Garden view room overlooking one end of the pool. It was very near the road end of the resort and traffic could be clearly heard inside The buildings surrounding the pool also create an echo chamber around which noises circulate - including a group of young adults playing a noisy game of volleyball in the pool when we arrived mid afternoon We were surprised to discover our room was actually a suite with a sitting area leadng to a reasonable sized balcony plus a separate bedroom The sitting room had a sofa, tv screen and tea/coffee making facilities with a small fridge. The bedroom was reasonably spacious with a large floor to ceiling window but no balcony - which meant we felt we had to keep the curtains closed to avoid being on display. It had a comfortable bed and included a small desk in addition to a chest of drawers with another tv above and bedside cupboards. The wardrobe was quite small with limited hanging space, but contained robes an iron and board plus the safe The furniture was all rather heavy and dated dark brown wood The bathroom appeared more modern and had a separate loo (accessed from within the bathroom area)) with modern tap fittings and a handheld as well as overhead shower - and good water pressure Old fashioned electrics - the light switches were in the wrong places and there weren’t many plug sockets (with none by the bed other than the bedside lamps). US style plugs throughout Outside the grounds felt rather condensed. The grass area around the pool wasn’t extensive, the poolside bar itself felt rather dark and cramped -and the sunset restaurant had no atmosphere at night as a result of the overhead LED lighting. It was necessary to make a reservation for either this or the upstairs internal Enid restaurant each morning. Enid is more of a sports bar which we didn’t try The breakfast buffet was good - the best of our 5 week tour of the caribbean with a good selection - but invariably we found ourselves having to queue to get into the restaurant Dinner was just about ok. On 2 of our 4 night stay there was a buffet - and on the other nights we were served. We were told we couldn’t book a table until 9pm although when we arrived the restaurant was virtually empty (and the food selection vastly reduced) There was no beach as such - just a sandy promontory on a rocky outcrop, crammed with loungers - with steps into the sea for swimmers To the left was the Sandy Lane beach which could be accessed across the rocks Theres a duty free complex and bank directly opposite the entrance to the hotel - and the chattel town and Limegrove shopping centre is about a 10-15 minute stroll away Because it’s all inclusive we didn’t venture too far away, not least as we were only staying for 4 nights after travelling around other islands Overall the resort felt rather too much like a holiday camp for us - with a daily activities board which included karioke! It was fine for a few days but we were relieved not to have been staying for longer

Where do we start? excellence at its best in beautiful Barbados!

This was my first time to Barbados and my partners second. However, a first experience of The Club. The resort is really well looked after, manicured gardens and the cleanliness throughout. Everyone is just so friendly! Both the service and food were amazing, the staff really are outstanding. You never needed to ask for more water or wine at dinner, it was just poured! and it never felt intrusive. There are two restaurants on site, one is always an à la carte menu (Enids) and the other (Sunset) was a mix of both buffet and some nights à la carte. There was so much choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner, it was all so yummy! If you didn’t fancy having lunch in the restaurant there was a snacks menu that runs all day in the bar/lounge which you can also eat at the poolside and patio. As I mention the staff are what makes this place. From checking in to departing, there are so many staff to name that made us feel so welcome and that went above and beyond. The names I remembered are; Waiting and bar staff; Kareen, Coraline, Camallia, Sherry, Donna, Sonia, Alisha, Marisa, Mia, Jevon, Guye, Vinny. Joshua on the front desk and Nikita in the spa. I didn’t catch the pool guys names but they both always helped us get a couple of dinners and an umbrella! Barbados is such a beautiful island, we stayed for 10 nights and managed to get a good mix of relaxation and excursions. Visiting Oistins Fishfry, Bridgetown, Harrison’s Cave, Kensington Oval cricket ground and seeing the horses at Pebbles Beach. Thank you for making it such a great relaxing holiday for us. Everything was just perfect! We will be back! 🇧🇧
