Jan 29, 2025Recent changes were not an improvement.
Restaurants were removed from Sunscape and transferred to Dreams and Secrets, leaving only two small ones for guests. Food choices were severely limited. The Sunscape beach is still excellent, with snorkeling right offshore. The wait staff and entertainment people were great. We particularly enjoyed Aaron's daily Spanish class.

Good for the Value
Good bed and clean room. Room had no amenities. Food was adequate but not delicious. Pool was nice and beach was the best one on that side. Staff was incredible! The hotel needs an update to go with the incredible location. The restaurants did not have any coffee and one had to go to the cafe and bring your own coffee. No decaf coffee on the property.

Jan 28, 2025Cute Resort With Great Staff and Snorkeling!
Overall we had a really great experience at Sunscapes! The beach is beautiful and well-maintained and there was plenty to see while snorkeling (rays, starfish, puffer fish, barracudas, moray eels, etc.). The staff is beyond fun and friendly and makes the entire stay so comfortable. Food was a bit of a challenge compared to the larger resorts we experienced in Cancun in terms of there isn't always access to food and the hours of the restaurants aren't always consistent (helpful to know, since we traveled with a 4-year-old). Quality of food was fine (we weren't there for the food, so we set our expectations accordingly). Rooms were fine and comfortable (we wanted to be outside as much as possible, so again we set expectations). Fitness center is awesome and we discovered a cute little playroom for our kid as well during a super rainy day. Overall, would recommend!

Great Resort
Staff is absolutely wonderful, always smiling and willing to help when needed. Best staff I've ever experienced. Clean environment loved diving with The Dive House! Serve was a little slow at the restaurants but we're on vacation and no hurry to get anywhere, admired the scenery while waiting for food.

This was the worst resort we have ever been to. Having been to Mexico 20+ times we know what to expect. At this resort the food was terrible, the service subpar, the resort is very outdated, beds are a nightmare, and very much not worth the thousands it cost.
