At Sunscape Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, kids ages 3-12 will have a blast with all the fun-filled activities at the Explorer’s Club for Kids. Our stay at Sunscape was Fantastic. Oscar, Angel, Eric and Christian at the front are amazing! Liliana, our room cleaner was awesome! Omar is always a pleasure and a friendly face to see! He is the best! Cruz, Miguel and Rugelio were lovely and fast! Aremento ( i definitely didn’t spell his name right) and Tino in the buffet are my absolute favourites and were fantastic to us!

We stayed here for a week, and it has positives and negatives. I'm comparing it to all-inclusive resorts we've stayed in Cancun and elsewhere. The food is pretty good, though limited. Breakfast is only available at the buffet and it is served for until noon. Lunch at the buffet doesn't start until 1:30 pm. From noon to 1:30, the only food option is a cheeseburger and/or nachos from a "Snack Truck". For dinner (in addition to the buffet), there is an Italian restaurant, the Seaside, and Tiki Taco - note that Seaside and Tiki Taco are not available every evening. I'd recommend avoiding the dishes that include steak, as we found the meat to be very fatty and/or tough. While the food is decent, the most infuriating part of dining is the dress code. The dress code makes sense in the evenings, but during the day, men may not wear tank tops or sleeveless shirts to the buffet. Women can wear cover-ups... many of which don't cover up as much as a tank top. It's annoying since you're sitting at the pool and will either need to bring an additional shirt with you or go back to your room before going to lunch. Nor can you take any food back to your pool seats. We had kids ranging from 7 to 13 with us and they were thoroughly entertained the entire trip. The pool, the water slides, and the ability to go to the swim up bar and order drinks kept them busy all day. The main lobby can be annoying if you have to go through it repeatedly, since they have staff there attempting to sell the Hyatt timeshare packages all day. The hardest sell came at check-in, but they'll try to talk you up anytime they can. Lastly, we had an "upgraded" room with two full beds. The beds were reasonably comfortable; however, our "upgrade" was that our balcony faced the pool and had an ocean view. This was beautiful, but it also meant the evening entertainment was right outside our window each night. It was tough to sleep with the loud music going until 11 pm each night. The patio door did little to reduce the sound level. Overall, the stay was good, and knowing what we know now, we'd stay here again.

Met all expectation
I would strongly recommend. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The entertainment was excellent. They provided profession entertainers. Make sure you visit the city (Puerto Vallarta romantic zone ). It's amazing. We notice the staff were truly committed to good service.

Excellent place for kids and adults alike!
Had a great time, drinks and food were excellent. The activities were great. I did morning stretching with Sergio which was great way to start the day. All the staff were fantastic, there was a lot for the kids to do and it’s in a great location to get to the city or the airport!

Great family friendly resort!
The staff were all so lovely. I didn’t have one staff encounter where they weren’t smiling or not trying to help. They honestly made the experience wonderful. Our floor and the resort in general could have used a few cosmetic renovations, but was overall clean. I am a picky eater, as is my toddler but we always found something to eat. Love the 24/7 Cafe. Delicious coffee and snacks. The pool was so nice and warm. The daily activities/shows were all fun! The entertainment team knew how to get people dancing. Love the nightly kids movies! Shoutout to Christian and Marianna(sorry name could be wrong) for hosting Mexican bingo which was so fun on our last night. Definitely a great family friendly resort.
