  Resort has gone downhill since we stayed there in Feb/24

  We returned to this resort from the previous year when it was first taken over and changed to Sunscape Coco as we had a fabulous time last year and expected the same this year but not the case. The adults only section was not completely adults as kids were allowed to eat at Kaleidoscope buffet and cutting through the adults area to get there as we paid for adults only. Towel cards are now required and seemed to be a shortage of towels last year no issues or towel cards. Very limited choices of alcohol and not much choice for premium and only 1 choice for beer. Service has gone way down as they seemed to have cut back on staff from their grand opening. They have changed the policy at the disco as now you have to purchase drinks where last year it was free till 1 am if i am paying for drinks that means its not all inclusive. We booked Sunclub Adults only pool access king and when we got there apparently it was family side i noticed this was the case for alot of others and the resort then tries to get you to pay way more to upgrade for what you originally paid for something fishy is going on as it seems weird how they seem to have so many available rooms for the upgrade we refused to pay and they gave us a honeymoon suit adults as an upgrade like they were doing us a favor and the room was horrible and outdated. They charge $30 US dollars to use the sunbeds that are rotted wood and the mattresses are ripped and torn and the vendors are allowed to walk freely in the roped off area. I will say that the resort has lots of positives as the cafe is excellent. The staff that are there work really hard and the entertainment is the best we have seen from other resorts. The food is ok but last year was much better in quality and options. 6 of us in our group got severely sick and barely made it back home. I was admitted to the hospital and i was confirmed to have gotten Salmonella poisoning so 3 days of the end of my 10 day trip was a nightmare and i was sick for a week and a half after getting home. Apparently they are getting rid of the adults only section and turning the Jewel resort next door into an adults only resort that may be connected to this one but that was just staff telling us this so unsure if it is true. We thought we found a great resort to become our usual place to go every year but after the way this trip went we will chose elsewhere. Hyatt hotels should be ashamed of themselves for this hotel not living up to their standards.

  Great resort !

  Yeico at the Kaleidoscope sun club was awesome ...our cleaner ( jackelyn ) was fantastic as well...all on all a great place for all...pools were plentiful and clean ...beach and ocean water great !! Would return to this resort ...we were there for 10 days....fantastic weather as well...

  Made the best of it...

  Where to start, check-in was good, room was void of any storage for clothing - even the wall hooks were broken, room had limited furnishings - bed and desk, no chairs or a table. Balcony door had no exterior handle making it difficult to open. Housekeeping was acceptable when it happened, we had to scrape accumulated dirt from bathroom light switch. Very crowded everywhere and mostly noisy, hurry to get a beach or pool chair early or you won't get one! Smokers paradise, couldn't get away from them and the butts on the beach. Long lineups most of the time. Cleanliness objectionable, bring a table covering if you choose to sit in the Sun Club lounge area, or you'll stick to the tables and there is food stuck in the surface cracks, disgusting! Witnessed a bar server pick something out of her teeth then serve a client, gross! Of the group of 7 others we met up with, 6 became ill with stomach problems, food? We basically ate rice, potatoes and pizza (which was fresh and delicious) but who wants to eat pizza all the time? The sun and weather were fabulous! Needless to say we weren't impressed and we're not picky, having the basics would have been wonderful - a clean, comfortable room, good food and a spot in the sun was really all we wanted. Overall we made it through and won't be returning to this resort.

  SMOKERS PARADISE!!

  Resort is ok, probably more like a 3 star though in my opinion, our biggest issue is the smoking which is everywhere including in the pools, on side of the pools, people walking around smoking including around kids and elders with no respect for anyone around them, we have been at other reorts where there were designated smoking areas, but smokers not abiding to it but this is definitely the worst by far for smoking and it is for that reason alone that we will not be back, we are currently still here with only a couple days left

  Spend a little more

  Resort seems to be in transition; not enough workers, not enough beach chairs, not enough towels, and outdated. There were many occasions during my vacation where I had to locate utensils inside the buffet due to staffing shortages and/or inefficiencies. This resort was cheap, but if you're like me, you'll regret not spending a bit more for better quality.
