  Wonderful Wonderful Staff

  The staff from this hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Richard from the sports bar and Gregori, Frank, Jose, and Julio from the lobby bar are over the top! They are wonderful and they make sure that you are satisfied and happy.

  Amazing

  The experience is memorable, if you go to the loby ask for Dauris, he is the best bartender 🙌😁 the rooms are good, the food is delicious and the resort is very clean. If you want a good massage take momo at the beach and if you want to book for excursion go with Yariel he is the best.

  An older resort with limited curb appeal

  Property The resort is large – more than 1,000 rooms. Our room was in the SunClub Adult section and it was nice and clean. The lobby is quite average. The outside of the resort is well below standards of other resorts in the area – it has a very underwhelming basic entry and front door. Also, the resort is a long way off the main road from the airport to the rest of Punta Cana and it’s a somewhat bumpy ride. I played golf 3 times in the Bavaro area (Hard Rock, Iberostar, Punta Balance). Each time, half the transportation time was spent driving from Sunscape CoCo to the main road. Beach and Pool The beach area is nice, but it is crowded, even in the Sunscape Adult are. The pool in the adult section is good. Lounge chairs are too few – if you want to claim one, get up at 6 AM and put your towels on one. You can reserve cabanas, but the beach attendants want $30/day for the whole week. Restaurants This is probably the weakest part of the resort. Kaleidoscope buffet has an average selection of food, but service is average - Took 20 minutes to get water and drinks only after going to waitress and asking. Forget about finding a spoon to stir your coffee or tea as I only saw 1 such item outside my room in the entire week. I even asked for them a few times and the wait staff never returned. The Kaleidoscope omelette station was good but crowded. Likewise for the waffle line and the pasta bar. We ate one evening at the main buffet for a change… very average food and below average service. Far and away the worst aspect of the restaurants is that it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BOOK A LA CARTE DINNERS IN THE MORNING FOR DINNER THE NEXT NIGHT. If you try to book at 6 AM you will be fortunate to get a reservation for 8 PM the next night (i.e. 38 hours later). We did get lucky one day booking later in the morning and got a reservation for 9:15PM the next evening. Aside from the booking issue (which is the WORST we have ever experienced at any resort we have stayed in Mexico, Central America, or Caribbean) the food was variable. The Dominican restaurant, Sunnyside, was good food and good service. The Amazonian restaurant, Tierra, was good - it is a buffet for vegetables and a Brazilian steakhouse with various meats on skewers so a blend of buffet and a la carte. Service by Carlos was very good. Bluewater Grille was quite average. Staff Check in was very slow and disorganized, even when we arrived at midnight. Good bellman service – prompt and efficient delivery of luggage in and out of the room and a good check room where I left my golf clubs for half the week. On the 1st day housekeeping was good and then declined. On our second day all we got was 2 bath towels and a bathmat. I was able to find our maid and, through the wonders of Google translate I was able to communicate what my expectations were for daily housekeeping services (i.e. the same as I would expect at a mind level Marriott property like a Courtyard Inn). Don’t expect nice towel art like you see at some resorts. The Concierge service is great! Franchesca made bookings for me for golf and her work was flawless. Communication was excellent, prices were good, and service was top notch. She checked with me a couple of times through the week to see if things were going well. Other SunClub lounge is good. Nice snacks. Good bar tender. Rock show was very good. Magic show was good, but audience appreciation lacked because there was no dialog. Prices are exorbitant... Fireball Whiskey was on display, so I asked the price – it costs DOUBLE what it costs in Canada. The same is true at the Duty-Free shop at the airport where the cost was 50% higher than in Canada – quite surprising.

  Great Vacation for the Price!

  We stayed from March 30 to April 6, in the Sunclub Oceanfront Room 2263. We got a good deal on this vacation package. Room was beautiful especially with the oceanfront view. Room was very clean and was kept clean very day by the wonderful cleaning staff. We had a small issue with the A/C but that was quickly resolved. The beach was beautiful, the seaweed was cleaned up every morning. There is an issue with beach chairs as you have to be up early to reserve them. The last 4 days we booked a Bali bed , the guys were great and looked after our every need. The food was good and plentiful. We ate at the kaleidoscope buffet as the ala carte were hard to book on the resort app. This didnt bother us as we don’t like schedules on our vacation. The best waiter was Eliado and the best waitress was Racheal both worked hard to ensure we had everything we needed. Be sure to visit the Coco Cafe for great coffee and cappuccinos. From what we heard the shows were great, but we couldn’t stay up to see them as we too tired to stay up. Instead we would sit on our balcony and enjoy the evening breeze. We would definitely return.

  My Family Vacation at Sunscape

  The rooms were nice and the service was good but I was particularly impressed with the kids club. Yuli, Candy, and Amanda were fantastic with my son. He had a great experience and they were all very thorough with the care they provided. Felix (our bellman) was fantastic. He helped us with our bags when the elevator was broken. It saved us a lot of time and energy.
