Poor service no shade pool too small my gold necklace was stolen from my room
Pool was too small. No shade whatsoever. Very few chairs with shade on the beach. Food was not that great. Service was very slow. They advertise all these restaurants however most are closed on certain nights or several nights in a row. So it’s the buffet again. Same food every day. Beds are hard as a rock. Everyone in our party of 11 agreed. My gold chain that was put with my other costume jewelry “mysteriously” went missing. Only reason to come here is if you’re into planes and want to see landings and take offs.

Sorry 3 only .improve ur services
Hello guys it’s our last day At Sonesta maho resort spa,I am giving 3 stars for a beach and food. I will post few picture that people with a small kids like me 3 years old and plus pregnant and we are family only prefer beach and no any pool save this 3 stars. I can tell u from 7 days we just stay one day at our resort on the beach , the rest of days we were walking 15 min to Mullebay beach it’s worth it , belive me just go one time and u will understand what I am taking about, tell u first of all it’s beach public and divide on priority and like us all inclusive regular travelers with a kids or non. Not enough beds , maximum I count 20 sun beds, the rest people or back to pool area or with towel on the ground , even if u tip guy that help u with umbrellas and sun beds he saying sorry it’s hotel management cheap😡 he don’t want get more beds for people I am shocked 😳, access to the beach huge sign hanging on the wall this way under ur own risk and dangerous , non make sense where should I go, if u even go to priority side just to go down security did not let me even wash my legs it’s priority 😤🤯it’s crazy. Just because it’s popular Majority beach so many tourists coming to see airplane landing its smells horrible smoke and exhaust smell from airplanes u can stay with little kids long at that beach . It’s rocky beach huge waives so bad to access , overall it’s maximum 3 I can give for that beach . Ok now back to food 🙈ladies and gentlemen’s if u think I am crazy pregnant writing no I am not , I travel with kid and a lot of Caribbean , definitely I will not compare with Cuba . But it’s was not 4,5 stars . Steak house that everyone heard it’s no more exciting just that u know straight so main buffet, Asian , Mexican and Italian. Italian nothing crazy regular salads and fish and lasagna 🤷♀️Asian I did not even want to try, Mexican it’s was ok.taco and burrito, main it buffet and grill also 3 stars. I can tell u hungry definitely u will be not. So we will be back with Airbnb to french side , worth it we went and check with beach view and food not so expensive to eat out. So guys u decide if u not picky for pool or beach or steak house or everyday buffet so it’s nice to come see it .

Overall fantastic
Had a fantastic experience at the Sonesta Maho. St. Maarten is advertised as the “friendly island,” and it absolutely lived up to the title. The staff there , everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff, were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was only about a five minute drive from the airport, and even the cab drivers at the hotel were fantastic. The beach at the hotel isn’t huge, but it’s definitely nice, and it’s right by the famous Maho Beach spot where you watch the planes fly right over the your head on their approach towards landing at the airport, which is quite the experience! And in the other direction, you’re a short ten minute walk (mostly on a walking path on a golf course) to beautiful Mullet Bay Beach too, which I highly suggest. If you’re interested in excursions, you’re a 15 minute cab ride to the Simpson Bay Marina, and can book excursions to St. Barts, Saba, and Anguilla, and the tours desk right at the hotel can help set all of it up for you The food at the hotel dinner restaurants was great, and we really enjoyed the Italian, Asian, and Mexican restaurants. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good too. St Maarten is a great island to visit, and great place to check off some other islands of your travel bucket list. And the Sonesta Maho is the perfect place to stay for sure!

Vacation experience
We stayed in Sonesta Maho Beach Resort last week. The only nice thing I can mentioned is the big nice modern room, great shower and a balcony. The all inclusive food was unbelievably the worst I ever had in all the resorts i have been. The line for the egg station in the morning was like 20 min, same as pasta station at lunch or dinner. Food options are very limited and not appealing to eat. The metal trays was cold instead of keeping food hot. For 5 days I never saw lox, its was only one strawberry yogurt every day. Even the simple oatmeal was sticky like clay. We spoke with restaurant supervisor and provide complain, asking to bring to chef attention that food must be enjoyable , not just food. Service was so slow and not attentive, we have to wait for juice or coffee for 20 min, keeping to ask the waiter to bring it. Bartender at Mexican restaurant was very rude, and not paying attention that people staying at the bar. The Asian restaurant have only few options and appetizer contains only two pieces of roll or two gyoza. The beach has huge waves and no lounge chairs because of the unsafety of the beach. Great option. I did not enjoy the stay in this hotel.

Awesome Resort
The Maho Beach Resort is AWESOME. Great location, great rooms, excellent service and something for everyone in food tastes! The recent changes to the swimming pool with swim up bar ROCKS! Food was good, the new Cantina needs some work on the small food portions but the appetizer buffet was a very cool idea! The buffet had lots of selections, pizzas good, the Village tavern had nice selection of bar food that was really good. The service staff was outstanding. Rooms were kept spotless. On our first trip to the buffet we were lucky to have met VIRGINIA! She waited on our table. Her smile and warmth made us feel welcome. Plus we were greeted by a warm hug each morning at breakfast. Our 2 favorite bartenders, EDDIE and ROMAIN, remembered us from previous trips. They delivered on great service and special drinks. Overall a great 5 days spent in paradise!
