Excellent YARILIS SENTILIS❤️❤️❤️
This trip was really fun and enjoyable, can’t wait to book another trip here! I really recommend you come here and enjoy the entertainment, with the workers like Maria, Yarilis Stefannyand Chocolaté who engage with the guest to come dance and the activities!

We had an amazing time! Please work on upgrading food and rooms and this resort will be 5/5 for me!
I had an AMAZING time! Few critiques, the rooms could use some improvements and the food as well. Other than that we are for sure planning to visit again. We went as a couple to enjoy some quiet/quality time away from the kids and just to reconnect and enjoy both of our birthdays. Overall, we really had so much fun. From the entertainment staff, the excursions, and just the welcoming staff at the resort. We met many people from different countries. We enjoyed the buggy excursion and a boat party ! 10/10 for both and staff were so much fun!! We also did snorkeling on the beach and toured VIP rooms for the ultimate leisure club which came with a nice breakfast and chance to enter a raffle, which was cool. Though we didn’t join, staff were still friendly and convincing lol. We are planning to bring our kids and parents back this summer, can’t wait! Dancing by the pool was one of my favorite parts.

A great family vacation in Puerto Plata
We are here during spring break. First time in Puerto Plata and Senator offered a great experience. Hotel offers great views of the ocean with plenty of lounge chairs around the pool and by the beach. Beach is beautiful (a bit rocky though). The staff is all very friendly. You can tell they enjoy working here and take pride in their job and the hotel. A variety of daily activities and entertainment options. Food is good and fresh. The a la carte restaurants offer great food and service (we tried the Japanese and Steakhouse). The room we booked is a bit dated but housekeeping staff keeps our room cleaned and stocked with drinks. Overall a great experience for the families.

Not worth what we paid
This is not a 5 star resort and frankly, I don’t understand the amazing reviews on multiple platforms. We paid quite a bit more to stay here versus the sister resort next door and I feel our experience would have been similar and we would have saved about $700 US. The resort is run down and not kept very clean (rooms, pools, buildings, eating facilities). The actual landscaping was nice and maintenance/ groundskeepers were very friendly and always working. Our room ( ground floor) was full of black mold and stunk of a wet basement. Room attendant made bed and changed towels daily, but not much else. Power went out nearly everyday and outlets shocked you when you touched what was plugged in ( phone, tablet). The pools are not filtered properly and disgusting by mid day. The food is repetitive, but edible. Not sure how neither of us got GI upset, but grateful. Buffet was nearly always loud and packed. Liquor selection mostly bottom shelf. Learn at least some Spanish before you go. Most staff seemed irritated if you didn’t speak Spanish and treated Spanish speaking customers visibly friendlier (with the exception of buffet waitstaff). Take lots of cash for tips, as tipping is expected for most interactions. Beach is nice in front of sister resort and finding a chair didn’t seem to be an issue. The one specialty dining we were given was decent as well. Excursion booked through resort picked us up on time. Entertainment doesn’t start until 930 pm nightly. Not many places to sit and have a drink. There are only two bars open in the evening- loud sports bar or pool bar with about 6 tables. Large part of resort is blocked off for timeshare members. You do have full use of sister resort, which we felt was nicer. More bars and common areas. Better beach. Set up airport transport in advance of arriving or pay $50 one way for a taxi from POP ( much more from STI). Overall if you’re set on coming here, I’d consider the much cheaper playabachata next door and save some money. Staying at the Senator is only an “upgrade” if you are a timeshare member.
