AMAZING experience and Danced the night away
Had an amazing time at secrets Tulum, really enjoyed the environment from the moment I walked in. Greeted with a cold towel for the humid temperature and a glass of champagne! Rooms are phenomenal and great experiences at the resort and offsite at the beach club which had shuttles daily. The dance class with Adela and Aldo was one of the best highlights of the trip. From dancing salsa to marengue to bachata at my request! We had a great time here and would DEFINITELY recommend for a solo trip or couples trip.

Beautiful but impractical, unreliable services, and a little disappointing
We stayed at this property from early to mid December 2024. While the property is stunning, we found that our stay was lack luster and left more to be desired. The rooms and pools are stunning. However, the pools are so cold, even as a Canadian who swims in lakes all summer, it was too cold to go in. Unfortunately we paid more money for the swim out and this was even colder then the pools. With how much you pay to stay here you would think the pools and swim outs would be a comfortable temperature. The next issue I had with this location is that weddings at the resort take away from guests stays. When we were there, there was 4-5 weddings. When weddings would happen, shows that are supposed to take place on the rooftop terrace would be cancelled or moved and they wouldn't update the app to show where the events were moved to. They also have the weddings right in front of the gym and spa, which they will deny guest access to. This was very frustrating as guests who also paid thousands of dollars to be there, we missed out on resort amenities we were told were available because of events we had nothing to do with. This leads me to the next issue which was rain -- when it rains a lot of the activities are just simply cancelled, meaning there's not much to do at the resort. We found events would be cancelled even if it stopped raining hours before the activities we're supposed to take place. We only had about 2 and a half days of sun when we were there so it definitely would have been nice to have activities to turn to. So between the cold pools and random cancellation of activities, there really wasn't much to do at this resort. Next, we had issues with service. We tipped well the entire time we were there (including a large tip for cleaning services the first day) and then for the rest of the week many days our room went without being cleaned or our fridge restocked. Even after calling to request these services or doing it through the app it still wouldn't get done. I wasn't impressed by this at all. Another thing to consider is that the resort is entirely sand. On the preferred side they have wood planks for guests to step on so they don't have to step in the sand with their shoes on but on the non-preferred side there wasn't this luxury which I thought was a really interesting difference. I would like to say a special shout out to Joel, Pool Concierge, it was his first week working at the resort and he was LOVELY. So helpful and always willing to help. I hope he sticks around because he was a great employee from our interactions and what we saw. We have been to another Secrets resort before which we loved, unfortunately the service here was subpar at best and there really wasn't much to do for the reasons stated above. The beach club is beautiful and until the pools warm up I would recommend guests spend most of their time there. We loved Tulum, but until this location makes improvements, we won't be back.

Value for miney 1/10
Hotel was beautiful but dinners were terrible, waiting times 70-80 minutes for sitting while more than 15tables were empty plus you need extra 20-30minutes for your foods. Dont have open buffet for lunch and dinner. After 22.00 you cant have drinks because bars closing. Shuttle times is limited and took 30min to go to a beach

Horrible
Horrible experience. Don’t go! Save yourself the headache. Every part of the trip was bad. Went for a wedding and got less treatment than if I would’ve gone by myself and it wasn’t cheap! 40k+ and everyone in the party had more than a few issues.

7/10 All inclusive in Tulum
We selected Secrets Tulum for a couples trip with friends because we were excited to see an all inclusive resort in Tulum. I will start this by saying I'd rate the overall experience a 7/10. The vibes/rooms are amazing so 10/10 there. We didn't receive a welcome drink or cold towel like some other resorts we are used to, so that was slightly disappointing as the welcome could use some improvement. The food was not great quality and left more to be desired so 5/10 there. There is only one breakfast option unless you are a preferred member and the buffet is pretty lousy. The asian restaurant, Jasmine was wonderful so we went there 3/5 nights and all were great. We did like that the resort was not overcrowded and no one is fighting for lounge chairs early in the morning. The laid back vibe of not needing reservations for dinner was also great. They have a shuttle that takes you to the beach club on the hour which is super nice. Depending on traffic this can take a while. The Beach club is amazing however the bar tenders/staff were less than thrilled to be there or help and are very slow. The water is super clear and beach is very nice. Bathrooms are clean and very nice as well. Food at the beach club was decent and the pizza was great. The entertainment was great and entertainment staff at the beach club and resort pools were wonderful. We love Johnny! He was great and engaging with the guests. I think if we were to come back we would splurge for a beach front room next time as we really loved the beach. Our check out experience was cold and they asked 3 questions and none had to do with our experience or stay. I don't know that we would come back but it was a fun vacation with friends regardless of quality.
