Secrets royal beach Punta Cana
Very disappointed, let me start by saying the resort is really beautiful as most secrets resorts are.this resort does not compare to any secrets resort that we visited in Cancun. Akumal, maroma , playa Blanca , playa mujeres , dreams High pressure sales from the moment you check in. They have people lined up if you say no to one another one shows up , up to 5 people. Sad to see. They fallow you to the pool while you try to relax. Service is average at best. We would tip everyone and it still wasn’t enough. If you’re not preferred there is no food during the day. Small place behind restaurants at the pool. Chips , hot dogs ,hamburgers, no pool entertainment,no pool games , no bbq at the pool like in Mexico , watered down drinks , this secrets does not match any other secrets we’ve ever been to

Clean, friendly hotel close to airport
Just arrived home after two amazing weeks at Secrets Royal Beach. Here is what we thought: Room: We didn't stay preferred and were given a tropical view room. One tip, if you're staying in the same type of room ask for a higher floor. You're away from the pools below, and it's so nice being high up in the trees. The room for us was probably the best we've stayed in at an AI resorts. Massive bathroom, with bath and separate shower. You get really useful extras: sun cream, comb, conditioner, incense sticks, scales. We found these to be really useful. Minibar is stocked every day but you only get two beers a day and then rest are soft drinks. Bed is huge and is an actual full size bed not two singles together. Only downside to the room that a week in we decided to use the spa feature on the bath and it didn't work but if we had of raised it they would have no doubt sorted it. Food: The buffet was probably the best we've ever had. Lots of variety, omelette station, pasta station, sushi most nights, bagel press, fresh crepes . We ate at all of the a la Carte and all were pretty good. French and the Steakhouse were probably our favourite. One negative was that on 3 separate occasions in 3 separate restaurants we found hair in our food. I know this is pure chance but I cant recall that ever happening before at an AI. You can also get snacks from like 11-6 from the beach Barefoot Grill. Burgers, chicken, nachos etc. We did find as the day went on the snacks became stale and the burgers and hot dogs were often cold. But okay to soak up the cocktails. Later on in the holiday we also found the Coco cafe at Dreams which is open 24/7 and has snacks, cakes, sandwiches, coffee. It's also a nice place to sit and play cards as it's probably the coolest place of an evening to sit. Staff: The best staff we've ever encountered. Windy, Lady and the other lady (sorry we have forgotten her name) by the main pool in particular were really good, very friendly and attentive. Please remember to tip these workers, they work extremely hard making sure we are all fed and watered well! It is a shame however how the tipping culture dictates your service in this hotel. We had a few negative encounters at the Rendezvous and main pool bar where Americans (probably big tippers) were served before us and when we questioned the staff they acted as though they didn't understand us. But overall, we had really positive experiences with the staff. In the main buffet all the staff were excellent, especially Veronica, Adrien, Sonia and Joberson. Entertainment: We watched most of the shows, the Queen Tribute and Greatest Showman were probably our favourite. However we found the atmosphere to not be as good as over in the Dreams side during the shows. The animation team around the pool are excellent, they don't harass you like at other resorts. Having the app that tells you when and where things are which is a handy tool. We recommend the water bikes and paddle yoga. Pool/ Beach: We are used to the bed wars when on holiday but you don't have that at this hotel. You could easily get a bed at the main pool and beach at 10 am. We did notice the lack of umbrellas for those who require them and on occasions when we went for lunch we would come back and find our umbrella had gone. Beware though, if you are looking for a relaxing pool experience this isn't the place for you. We love atmosphere round the pool and would always choose a main pool over a quiet but we did find at times that the music was too loud even for us. And as this hotel is 99% Americans it is definitely catered to their music taste. With 2-3 hours a day of Country music and then in the afternoon they take requests, so if you are easily offended by swearing in songs I wouldn't recommend you sit here. We didn't sit at the beach too much but the beaches in DR are beautiful. Probably the cleanest we've ever been to. There's a little bar on the beach and you can still get WiFi in some parts of it. We didn't do any of the water sports as it was a little windy for us but there is plenty to do. Being non preferred: We didn't feel like we missed out on anything. We don't need a butler, we loved the main pool, there is plenty of food choices. We found this is more of a status thing for the Americans than anything else, don't be fooled. Overall, we would recommend this hotel. It's also probably the cleanest we have been to, there's also nightclub if that's your sort of thing. For us it was too loud, much like the pool music. You could hear it from the beach and could imagine it to be annoying if you have a room close by. The only one big downside for us as a group of 6 was the lack of spaces to sit at night. The lobby has no aircon so we could only last 20 minutes before we had to move but we found there was no good tables to sit and play games so we would resort to going to the Coco Cafe at Dreams. Finally, we missed some sort of bar / seating area at the beach of an evening. The beach party was moved twice during our stay, once because of the wind but the second time we didn't know the reasoning. We usually like to sit by the beach to star gaze and relax but when it went dark it was dead down there with nothing going on.

a great 8 days
My wife and I stayed at SRB for 8 days . It was truly one of the best vacations we have had.from check in to check out we were treated exceptionally well Our butler Eddie checked in with us every day and always made sure everything was going well and made reservations for us for a ball bed and a cabana on the beach and set up our luggage pickup and checkout time and was always available. We received exceptional service from Forencio our waiter at Olio and the Bordeaux restaurants he had special meals made for us on 2 occasions.Robert the bartender at the preferred club lounge was another that gave us exceptional service he always had ideas for different drinks for my wife and got cucumbers to mix in my gin and tonics. Deylin our beach server was always taking care of us making sure we had waters or drinks he was very good at making sure we had everything we needed.Everything was first class from our room to the people I can not name everyone but we are planning on going back next year.

Baby Moon in the DR
I went with my wife to Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana for our Baby Moon, we had an amazing time in our Junior Sweet with out back patio private swimming pool. The vibes were immaculate, the views and beach were serene, and the food was delicious. We had the best week and did not want to leave, I have to give a special shout out to the best bartender, Robert G. he is, without a doubt, upper management material. Would highly recommend.
