Feb 19, 2025Good hotel overall
The hotel was good overall. The photos I saw of the property showed sandy white beaches... not so much. They were rocky and the red warning flags were out every day. Some restaurants were great, some good and some not-so-good. Poolside was great - atmosphere, activities, waitstaff and pool were all great and that's where we spent most of our time. The rooms are OK - The outlets in our room were too loose to keep anything plugged into, but plenty of storage and comfortable bed.

Feb 19, 2025Nice Valentine’s Day weekend trip
This is our first time at a Secrets resort and we enjoyed our stay so much that we already planned to book our next trip here. Although the beach (maybe it’s just Rivera Maya area in general) was meh, the resort was amazing. I see that they’re trying their best cleaning up the seaweed early in the morning, but you can’t really fight the Mother Nature. It still kept coming during the day. We got a swim-out room and it was the best decision EVER! The pools (including the swim-out pool) were nice and clean. The main pool looks little dated, but it’s clean. The food was good for all-inclusive. So far we like all restaurants that we dined in. The service here was the best! Every single staff was amazing. We were treated so well. As for the room, I love overall cleanliness and decor. For some reason, I really really like shower in the glass door in the middle of the room. We were there for Valentine’s Day and that shower was kinda sexy lol.

We went from January 29-February 5. The weather was amazing, it was windy the first few days, which whipped the sand around, but staff did a really great job watering it down after. We loved the solitude of the place and that it was more relaxing, we were however sad that there was not a pool swim up bar. Urbano at the pool service made up for that though, he was quick and remembered what we drank every day. Juan made sure we had somewhere to sit each day and always came to check on us to see if we needed anything. Steven from entertainment was so fun and sociable and really tried to get people involved. We loved all the restaurants and Cesar at the Pizza place at Breathless was fun and enjoyed our WI "accents". Our very last night we went to Rosewater because of the live music and it was so great. Our server i can't remember if it was Juan or Jose, but my God, he was THE BEST, along with the restaurant manager. Our glasses were never empty and he always assured us our guys was coming and remembered everything. Best service we've ever had at all of the Secrets we've been to. The only disappointing feature of this resort is the beach. We were here at Breathless 4 years ago and the beach was large and beautiful, sad to see it washed away. But still enjoyed it.

A good trip
Just got back from a great week at Secrets. Had a great stay and really enjoyed going over to the breathless side for the party atmosphere and bouncing back over to the secrets side for some quiet time and more of a leisure vibe. Really appreciate the service of Julian at Rosewater, Juan at the pool & last but not least Luis our housekeeper. Food was good no real issues and never had more than a 40 minute wait to have a nice sit down meal. We made it a point to go out to Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and a Cenote which is a must do and really worth the long day that it is to see these sites. Will stay again and loved the ocean view.

Beautiful grounds, lackluster food and room experience
The pools and landscaping are very nice. Arrive early and claim your spot if you want to seat at the pool. Our preferred junior suite with hot tub on the balcony looked like it was once a very beautiful room. However it needs some maintenance. We experienced some mold and mildew problems in this particular room. One sink wasn't draining at all but they resolved it very very quickly. The service at the resort was very good. The food was pretty good with the exception of chicken and beef which always arrived overcooked and dry.
