Beautiful resort, beautiful Spa, excellent food
This would have been a 5 star review except for just a few things. As for the exceptional, the variety of restaurant choices, and the quality of food! Several outstanding staff members- Juan at Portofino, he found us at the pool and arranged a special dinner with a flaming coffee service at the table, and we just had to buy a bottle of wine. The wine is ridiculously overpriced, but I managed to find a decent one for $95 (with a discount for being a UVC member), and it was worth it for the special service and I don’t find their house wine drinkable. Jessica was our butler, as well as for our son and his fiancé. She took care of some problems with our son’s room, and handled it quite well. Unfortunately 3 out of 4 of us got sick. I don’t blame the resort, because they are giving you hand sanitizer at every restaurant, and I didn’t observe any food mishandling. With cruises and resorts, if Norovirus is there, it will spread. Jessica was attentive, sent Gatorade, crackers and bananas, without even asking. She changed reservations at the spa, and she was genuinely concerned. Efrain met us at the rooftop pool area as they were closing to get ready for a special dinner. He went out of his way to get us a table for 4 when he learned we were interested in that dinner. It was a Mariachi dinner with 11 Mariachis, and they were so good! We loved the food, too. More on food; Starting with breakfast at the Market Cafe, omelets made to order, delicious Pastries, bagel bar, fruit, including fresh papaya, but my favorite is the Mexican breakfasts! You have so many lunch choices including pool service, World Cafe, a taco restaurant, and Sushi! Only complaint on that is, I found my favorite roll (rainbow roll), on the menu, and was told no sashimi, available, only cooked rolls. Dinner, other than Portofino, Bordeaux has a beef Wellington that is perfection! Hibachi (Himitsu), has a great show, but the food was just average. We aren’t big drinkers, but other than the wine, all the mixed drinks are good to me. I really enjoy that they have a cart with flavored seltzer waters that you can help yourself to at the rooftop pool. The views are beautiful, and you can see breaching whales in the distance. The layout is such that there really aren’t any ocean front rooms, which is somewhat of a negative. They monitor the preferred areas so only preferred guests can use them. Lastly, I requested a late checkout since our flight wasn’t until after 7:00 PM, but was denied even with the highest UVC status and Hyatt Globalist. I was still getting over being sick, so I really just wanted to relax in our room, but they said the resort was 100% full. With checkin time being 3:00, and some people arriving later, even if you believe that they are at 100%, it seems like they could have done something. We got 12:30, instead of 12:00. The housekeeping, minibar and turndown service was top notch, and all came every day!

Wonderful getaway experience
We felt truly spoiled during our stay—we really enjoyed the pools, hot tubs, and even the beach. It was rocky, but since we knew, we brought water shoes, We rented bodyboards and played in the waves. We also loved watching the whales. The food was mostly delicious, except for the Olio and Mezes for dinner, which were mediocre. The Secrets breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in any hotel. It was a great stay.

Great Trip and Staff!
This was our second visit to this resort and we will probably return again! The rooftop Preferred Pool is where we hung out the majority of our days. The bartenders up there are amazing and took great care of us! (Alejandro, Julio, Miguel and Imanuel) We saw whales every day from the roof and it was always breathtaking! We visited the water park at Dreams and went down the new water slides this year and that was great fun too! (we have no kids) All of the restaurants were good especially Portofino and Bordeaux. We had a butler this year with our room and Ines was great. We had a couple minor issues and she was quick to respond and take care of them! It was great to have a "go-to" person. The one drawback is that there was no bathtub in the room only a plunge pool on the balcony which seems a bit worthless. My husband likes to take baths and the only rooms with bathtubs are the top two levels which are very pricey! Overall, the resort is one of our favorites(we are UVC Members and have visited many) and we will definitely return in the future!

beautiful,clean, peaceful!
Me and my husband had a great experience, this was our first time out of the US, and this resort set the bar high! Everything is exceptionally clean, staff is very friendly and welcoming. The preferred club was definitely worth it as the roof top pools and bars are far less crowded, and more peaceful. We will definitely be back. The food was delicious as well, lots of options, portions can be on the smaller side but just order more!
