  Overall a good trip!

  Overall, the resort was great and I would recommend! The staff is phenomenal, especially Lionel in the Lobby Bar and Miguel a server at El Patio at Sunscape! I feel like they both went out of their way to make our trip, fun and memorable! The ladies that are serving the drinks at the preferred pool were so attentive and did an amazing job! Personally, the only complaint I would have would be the bartenders at the preferred pool were grumpy most days and all the pools were freezing cold. Some friends that were traveling with us had some issues with their room having a very bad sewer smell! There was also some leaking coming from the bathroom ceiling in their room and things were getting wet!

  Traveler Beware!

  No phone, no air conditioning, no hot water, no electricity, leaking pipe. Zero help from staff. Staff was openly hostile. Service people unsatisfied with tip and demanded more. Desk representatives lied several times and refused to allow us to speak with a manager. Eventually through multiple demands got to speak with Check in manager who offered zero solutions, was extremely condescending and when he got a negative response felt compelled to lecture us. When told we would come back in an hour for solutions his response was, “Or what?”Worst vacation ever!

  Objectively the worst adults only I have stayed at

  Save your money and go elsewhere. We have stayed at a lot of all inclusive and this is one of the most poorly managed and maintained we have seen. Here are specific examples Lobby men’s room has a broken seat door stained walls and hasn’t been deep cleaned in months Restroom by one of the pools has been out of service for a week The swim up bar pool was only half full of water The bars are always out of glassware and sometimes even ice The food at the buffets really is low quality even for an all inclusive but here is what really discouraged me about this spot Literal conversation at the sushi restaurant “Do you have a reservation?” How do I make a reservation? “You have to buy a bottle of wine to have a reservation” How much is that? “80 dollars is cheapest” If I buy an 80 dollar bottle of wine how soon can I have a reservation? “We can seat you right now” How long if I go on the waiting list? “Who knows how long it will take because we give people with reservations first priority” But I’m here now and you said you have a table if I give you 80 dollars “Shrugs” Like seriously what kind of all inclusive treats guests like this?? It’s pretty much a shake down and sales pitch if you want anything at this resort which is very unbecoming for the brand.

  Fantastic Vacation

  There are many negative reviews about Secrets. Yes it is dated but that didn't affect the atmosphere, the cleanliness of our room, the upgrades for being preferred club, the wait service, the bar service, the location and the layout. Arby & Lucy of the entertainment team were fun and hardworking. Always saying hello. It was a wonderful vacation and the resort was great. If I had to have one complaint it would be that the pool was a little cool. That however didn't stop us from floating on the lazy river, exercise class or the foam party!

  Not the Secrets I expected

  Great food, beach, drinks. Rooms desperately need renovating. Poor value overall. Great snorkeling off beach. Poor nightlife. Great staff. Would not go to this one again. It doesn't even come close to the quality we experienced at the Secrets Maroma on mainland Mexico
