A few bumps along the way!!!
We opted to go to this resort, Royalton, because of great things we heard, and also being under the umbrella of the Marriott Bonvoy. Well, this was DEFINITELY NOT the case. We wasted quite a bit of our vacation time, going to Guest Services, multiple times to complain about booking reservations for the a la cart restaurants on their Royalton app, that we were told they changed to using the app about 8 months ago, instead of speaking with a person to book the reservations, and the resorts' staff were getting complaints about as well, and their website stated "hassle-free dining", ya right. There were staff walking around the resort, holding menus, and we would get stopped, and asked if we would like to reserve for dinner - well, you'd have to buy a bottle of wine from them, and they would make a reservation, no problem. Ummm, we thought we were at an all inclusive resort????? Thank goodness, after a few days we were there, I found out that each building has a concierge, and I finally met a concierge who was kind enough, that even on her day off, she offered to book a restaurant for us - she was AMAZING, and that is why I gave a 3 star rating. Another concierge talked us into going for a free 90 minute breakfast, which was to try to sell us to buy into their, call it membership. The gentleman, at first was very kind, friendly, and seemed to be very interested in us, until it came down to $$$, and us, who are now pensioners, telling him straight out that we couldn't make a decision, because he wanted us to sign, and put down a deposit, right then and there!!! He even had the gull to say, "well you did come here on vacation, and how much did it cost you?". It is none of his business how much it cost us, and how we were able to pay for it!!! He didn't even say goodbye to us. Well, on a positive note, we got a great meal at Hunter Steakhouse, otherwise, unless you were in the Diamond Club, or a member, you would have to pay to have dinner there. We have been to plenty of other resorts in the Caribbean, most of the time for 2 weeks, sometimes, 3 weeks, but never have we wanted to come home, as we did on this vacation. We will NEVER stay at a Royalton Resort again.

Will not return to the Royalton Splash in Punta Cana
Flight delayed ,arrived at hotel 130 am got our to our room at 5 am. I booked 6 months in advance in order to get the ground floor and we were put on the third floor. We were told there were elevators, there are no elevators! Very disappointing changed rooms next day we were told to come back at 3 pm to get our new room and they would bring our luggage . We went there to our new room and no luggage , no one knew where they were! We went to the lobby and no one new where are luggage was it’s now way pasted 6 pm. I went to see where people were boarding the bus to go to the airport and there was my luggage ready for the bus with checked out tags. I was totally upset at this point. The buffet is just ok nothing great , they would put out food and then if you asked for anything they would tell you there’s no more. We would go to eat at around 730 pm . This is truly a family resort so many children , keos everywhere. The beach is way to far to walk at least 20 minutes, they only have two trolley and most of the time is full unless you walk to the lobby to get the trolly. My room was full of tiny flies in the bathroom sink and then tiny black worms the next day. The shower didn’t drain so it always had standing water. The A/C you couldn’t shut off always running so the room was always cold. You had to ask to have your refrigerator replenished. When you went to the beach there aren’t any chair available no matter what time you go. You can get as many towels as you like so people put them both at the pool and the beach. I sat at the beach spa steps where I could get some shade and was told off by a women getting a massage that I should not be staying there. The only good thing there was the ladies at the spa who were very friendly and very kind and they offered me a chair. I’m not a spring chicken that could just sit on the beach. We were there for two weeks , I’m sorry to say we will not go back there again. Both my husband have been going to the DR for the passed 25 years every February and we did encounter some not so good resorts and some very good resorts. One more thing they only have hamburgers, hot dogs and sometimes fries . That staff person is worked very hard and couldn’t keep up . The bar next to where the hotdog stand is will only serve you if you have money in your hand or you wait a long time . There’s no place to sit even though there’s a huge closed Italian restaurant right there on the beach .

Had a great family vacation!!!
The reviews always freak me out but we had a great family vacation! We travelled with a two and a half year old, an almost 11 year old, a 14 year old, our two parents 60+, my husband and myself. We stayed on the Splash side. It was very well kept and clean, not just our room but the entire splash side. We saw a room on the Punta Cana side and it was more up to date style wise but to me, it wasn’t necessary. Our room was just fine. We had enough towels every day. Our fridge was stocked with beer (2), pop, water, juice boxes and chocolate milk each day. We had no issues with water pressure in the shower. The toilet flushes very loudly but whatever! Our rooms were very cold. We didn’t look into if adjusting that in our room was an option, we opened the slider a few times to let some warm air in which seemed to help. The comfort of the beds weren’t too bad. I think most people sleep best in the comfort of their own bed but these were not terrible. I would say compared to other resorts I have stayed at, my sleep here was the most comfortable. We didn’t eat at any of the specialty restaurants on the Splash side. Our flight arrived very late and we didn’t go to our orientation the next day so we got mixed messages when asking if there were restaurants on our side, so I can’t speak to those. There are reviews about it being hard to book, we were told by another guest that the staff that are stationed by the stairs in your building can help to book your reservation. They also suggested to take a picture of the reservation they make for you with your phone. We didn’t do/make any so I can’t speak on this but hope this helps others in book as it seems like the app can be tricky. The buffet had plenty to choose from. We were upgraded to Diamond club halfway through our trip. I did enjoy their dinner buffet on the Punta Cana side better. It was not busy at all, its brighter, I found the selection to be a bit better. Breakfast was a bit better as well but it was incredibly busy. The seating in the Punta Cana side better accommodate a busy toddler. Our daughter does not enjoy a booster seat and these have a booth that she could sit and move around safely and freely making meal time easier. We did two of the speciality restaurants on the Punta Cana side… the Steak House and the Italian. Both were good. Nothing overly crazy that we would choose those over the buffet but going somewhere different was nice. We had a reservation for both and the steak house was busy so we did have to wait which was frustrating but it is what it is. I found the steakhouse was very loud, it was hard to have a conversation with someone. We loved our morning walks to the Coffee shop (beans). They have plenty of selections and there are pastries and fruit to choose from as well which is nice when you are up early with a toddler and breakfast buffet isn’t open yet! Pool towels you can get at 8 am. We thought about getting clean ones at the end of each day but never did. People do get up and save chairs. We were up and saving chairs around 7:30 each day. There are two different pools on the Splash side. One is closer to the splash lobby which is quieter. We didn’t spend time there so I can speak of the vibe or anything there. We enjoyed the main pool. We never had an issue with finding chairs to accommodate our party. Carlos was very helpful and would help move chairs and umbrellas if one was available. We tipped him for his help. Two days there was pool blow up courses for both children and adults. It was a ton of fun! The DJ played great music all day. The pool bar tenders are great! Both at the bar and the one’s circulating to bring you your drinks. The pool burgers were delicious! We went to the lunch buffet only once. There was great selection. My personal favourite was the pizza. I wished I tried it sooner, I always try my best to eat healthy when I can on vacation because it’s so easy to indulge but the pizza was SO good! At least I really enjoyed it. Our family spent one day at the water park. The slides are a ton of fun! The wave pool was great and the kiddie pool with slides was great too! Th life guard does a good job at making sure bigger kids don’t take over the area for the little ones. You can’t get an alcoholic drink in the water park but they do have a bar that offers no alcoholic beverages. The entertainment staff work really hard, they are incredibly enthusiastic and friendly. We went to the white party and saw the fire show! It was really great! Definitely check it out. Busy but a fun time and cool show. There Splash resort isn’t on the beach so if you are wanting to go you have to take the ‘bus’ that runs through the resort to the Punta Cana side and then you can walk through that side to get to the beach. If the beach was closer we would have spent more time there. The sand was nice and our two and a half year old love playing in it. The one day we were there we weren’t approached by any of the locals selling souvenirs. They were in the beach but we didn’t have any encounters. The kids got their pictures taken with parrots and an iguana, you had to pay but then were so excited about this. We spent time in the main pool on the Punta Cana side and our family all preferred the Splash side. We had a Cabana as well and it just wasn’t our thing. We enjoyed our time but the Cabana was something we could live without and it wasn’t going to make or break our vacation. The one MAJOR thing that freaked me out all week is the floor around the resort is SO slippery. It’s the same flooring that’s around the pools and waterpark and it’s so slick! I saw people who were just walking and they fell. So be warned and be careful! I wouldn’t tell people not to go because of this but just be careful! Our family tips… the staff that clean your room, stock our fridge, the bar staff, the wait staff… anyone we feel was kind, helpful, provides us service. This goes along way. The staff work hard and when you value their hard work and service by giving them a tip they take care of you. Some people might not be able to afford doing this financially or maybe don’t feel they should or have too which I understand but if you can, I do believe it impacts your vacation in a positive way. We had great weather and a great time. We would recommend the Royalton Splash Punta Cana!

Don’t waste money on Diamond Club!
The hotel is not worth the money spent especially when we went for the Diamond Club package. You hear every flush of someone else’s toilet, hairdryer, door close and even snore. Food choices are limited, there is no special menu for Diamond Club, butler service is just problem solving and restaurant bookings. Speedy check in was not the case- a whole coach load of people were checked in in the standard service whilst we sat for over an hour waiting. Snacks in room was two packets of crisps and m&ms. The list could go on. It was a huge disappointment that I consider the 9hour flight to be quieter for sleeping and better luxury!

Good experience
Very nice resort, we stayed at the Royalton Punta Cana not the splash resort which was right on the beach. Very clean and friendly staff, the buffet was good but the two restarts we ate at were a little disappointing, food was cold and tasteless.
