Best family vacation ever!
After weeks of fretting about the negative reviews, our family of 7 vacation finally arrived. We had some issues with room assignments upon arrival, but it was quickly corrected. There are several great pools, and the beach was amazing. Activities offered every night. The Zen & Hunter Steak House was fantastic, others average. Both buffets were great with many selections. We had great service in all areas: maid, pool boy, bar and food service. The VERY BEST part was our butler Amarlys, she was amazing! Thank you to Amarlys & Royalton Splash for a wonderful family vacation!

Good - but could be better - vacation
PROs: Hotel staff are great. Room was great (29-301). Diamond Club worth the price. Elvin (butler) was terrific. Water Park was a blast. CONs: Infinity pool at the Royalton was disgusting. Dirty. Cloudy. Just gross. Restaurants are not worth it. Even with reservations, wait is long and food is not good. Nightly entertainment is boring.

The worst experience I’ve ever had! There is NO luxury at this resort and certainly NOT the expected Marriott standards
The worst Marriott experience I’ve ever had! Don’t know why this hotel is called a “Luxury” resort when they couldn’t even provide the most basic needs! I was traveling with my family and we booked 3 rooms, 2 under my name. We were put in old, dirty, moldy rooms. The smell was so bad we walked in and right out! Waited over 5 hours of our precious vacation time for other rooms to be ready. The website is very misleading. Everything looks so nice so of course it’s a shock when you see what the resort actually looks like. There is no direct beach access as well as no direct access to the water park you have to walk or take shuttle. Also the disco (club) and casino, they are at the other resort which again you have to take shuttle. The food was horrible at all restaurants. The main dining room (buffet) was dirty and had roaches climbing on the walls. The staff was horrible and seem very unhappy. Every single day (I was there for 5) I would ask for beer as I really enjoy it with my meals and didn’t get it until after I was done eating! It certainly wasn’t the Marriott service I am accustomed to. I’m surprised that Marriott corporate would have this hotel as part of their Autograph Collections! Hence, why my group and I were so deeply disappointed as we were expecting nothing less than a great experience. I will never stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone. I’ve been to punta Cana several times but a lot of my family members had not! It completely ruin what could have been an amazing experience/trip!

Horrible experience
The splash is trash. We were limited to one restaurant, the buffet. The food was always cold. There was mold in the bathroom. The staff was rude, not all of them but the majority of them. I’ve stayed other Royalton resorts and this was definitely subpar.

Overall, the experience was fantastic. Although we had we rocky start due to the poor customer service, Amarlys Mercedes made every attempt to make sure that changed. Had it not been for her premium customer service, our trip would have been a disaster. She fixed many problems and put us in a position to have fun.
