Hotel hospitality didn’t shine as much as the natural beauty
Overall, this was a very pleasant experience. There were highs and they were lows. The water is unbelievably gorgeous. It changes colors throughout the day and there’s multiple layers of various blues and greens. It is the most beautiful ocean water I’ve ever seen in my life. The downside to the resort employee culture, is that most of the staff seem disengaged and not really interested in working with tourists. There were a couple of standout employees: Matt-Lee and Gab. They talked to us like we were human beings. We found that most other staff lacked charm and any interest in engaging. The pool and grounds are absolutely amazing here. It’s always clean. Everything is freshly painted and well-maintained. High marks for cleanliness! I observed other folks paying extra for special treatment with beach loungers by tipping the towel service guys to reserve the best chairs for them in the mornings. That was especially frustrating to us because we had already paid a lot to stay here. In many cases, no one enjoyed the chairs for many hours and they just sat there empty. The staff was also very strict with us about the rules (like we can’t take out a snorkel mask at the same time that you take out a paddleboard and you can’t take out a bike out until 8:00 in the morning, not even at 7:57) . But then they were very relaxed with each other and with themselves about the way they provide service. At night if you want to go get dinner anywhere plan to get a taxi that costs $12 one way, so just leaving the resort cost $24 each time. You cannot take out the bikes past six because there aren’t lights on them and they probably don’t want the liability for people getting drunk and trying to ride their bikes. But being able to ride the bikes to dinner would be super convenient and add a nice value. You have to buy waters for two dollars a bottle all day every day at the front desk. Water bottles the same exact size cost six dollars at the bar or at the restaurant. We rode the bikes to the grocery store and got a couple of gallons, but you can only bring so much back on a bike. The happy hour prices at the bar were super reasonable and the bartenders were very generous with their pours. The music at the bar should have been Caribbean music but it was often just bad American music. Our room was very well cleaned every day. Towels replaced, dishes washed, bed made.

Fantastic stay!!
We stayed here about 20 years ago and always loved it. For my father’s 79th birthday- we returned with our children and it was still amazing! We loved location, enjoyed all the beach toys (kayaks, standup paddle boards, snorkel equipment, games, hobie cats) and used bikes for quick ride to grocery store. Highly recommend this beautiful resort where staff is wonderful and grounds are gorgeous!! The restaurant was fantastic too? Everyone ages 15-79 really enjoyed themselves!!! Can’t wait to go back!

Royal West Indies Resort was paradise!
Royal West Indies was everything we hoped for. Condo was fantastic, very clean and comfortable with beautiful ocean views. The staff was very friendly and accommodationg. The grounds were gorgeous and meticulously kept. Pools were beautiful and sparkling clean. Food in the area was delicious but VERY pricey. Hit the grocery store and you can make some meals at condo. Can't wait to go back and Royal West Indies is where we'll be staying

Great Boutique vacation spot
We stayed for a week. ALL the Staff is extremely friendly. Beach is beautiful with plenty of chairs, umbrellas and towels. Grounds have established landscape that is amazing. Two pools, one whirlpool. One pool is adults only. We stayed in a studio Ocean Front which included 'full size' fridge, Microwave, sink, silverware, plates etc. Also had laundry basket and washer/dryer. Maid service was excellent. Front Desk helped with reservations. Beach type bikes avail for a 10 min ride into town. WiFi worked great in the room and was a bit spotty at the beach/pool, however, your on vacation so who cares. If your looking for posh and snooty, go somewhere else. This resort is full of kindness without attitude.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
We've traveled to Turks and Caicos many times and typically stay at The Ritz or The Windsong—both fantastic choices. This time, we visited with a group of 15 to celebrate a birthday. The gentlemen who welcomed us upon arrival were warm and friendly, but unfortunately, the front desk staff at check-in and check-out were incredibly rude. While our room had a lovely view, it felt outdated with décor straight out of the '70s/'80s, visible rust stains, dust, and uncomfortable beds. To make matters worse, we saw two roaches scurry across our table at the Pelican Restaurant. On a positive note, the grounds were beautiful, and the housekeeping staff was very kind. However, overall, this place isn’t worth the money—save yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere.
