Party life was a vibe, my friends and I had fun BUT……
Me and both my friends came back home with a stabbing pain in our lower abdomen, sinus congestion, and fevers, sweat breakouts and body aches. Our doctor said this is most likely caused by the food and water contamination. We also observed some of the silverware, not being properly sanitized, even when touching unsanitized items such as the floor and or glass above the food. We literally let a staff member know that the spoon needs to be cleaned and we watched him wipe it off with a towel and put it back inside the food. Like I said sanitation not great at all, but the vibe is on 1000.

Very poor expirience, AVOID this resort
When we arrived at the resort on March 6th. We were given keys to our room. The was no one available to help with the luggage. The keys did not work so we had to go back to the front desk w our luggage to get new ones. When we got into the room we noticed a strong musty/mold smell. The air conditioning was at 25C so we tried bumping it down to 21. It wouldn't go any lower. We changed and went to find some dinner. Food- all the "specialty" restaurants were buffet except for the steakhouse. When they open at 6-6:30 the food is all under heat lamps and dried out. We were able to get reservations for the steakhouse 2 times later in the week and besides breakfast, it was the only edible food on the resort. We got back to our room and it had not cooled at all. We put in a maintenance request and went to bed. In the morning the maintenance request was closed and the AC was still not working. We put in a total of 5 maintenance tickets while we were there and nothing was repaired. We had a ceiling fan that would squeeze. They did have a maintenance man come to look at it and of course, it was doing it then. Through an interpretation app he messaged us to "quit dreaming" At 2am we were both wide awake because of the noise it was making again. Our clothes, sheets, everything was damp and smelled musty by the end of the trip. Our TV that we would try to use to drown out the Spring Breakers at 4am did not get a signal. We had broken furnature, towels w holes, mold in the shower and rust and mold dripping from the shut off valves in the bathroom. The whole resort was in a bad state of disrepair. We had requested a partial refund for not having AC the entire 56 days we were there but the resort said all issues were resolved before we left. They finally gave us $200 for our "refund". They refused anything more. We paid over $2000 for just the hotel part of the trip. We have been to 8 or more all inclusive resorts but this is our first and last time at a RIU. I would highly recommend avoiding this resort.

Riu Replublica Punta Cana
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time. We felt safe the whole trip, the staff was amazing and the food was great. We loved the omelets in the morning, the Steak restaurant was awesome, and the Asian was our favorite! Everything about our stay was amazing. 10/10 recommend!

TERRIBLE ROOM KEY/FOOD
Didn't recieve room keys when checked in. Received room keys finally at 3 am after going every hour and they said the system is down. Room keys proceeded to stop working had to beg maids to let us into the rooms. Terrible room key experience. Flys were flying around the fruit. Food was disgusting, and made me sick.

Horrible
*3/5 Stars: Disappointing Experience at a 5-Star Resort* I recently stayed at this resort, which was touted as a 5-star destination. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. While some staff members were friendly and awesome, the front desk was woefully unorganized and chaotic, indicating a need for better training. The resort's upkeep was subpar, with dirty grounds, worn-out facilities, and a filthy pool. The food was also a letdown, and the presence of numerous drunk young people detracted from our overall experience. To make matters worse, the ice machines on all floors were broken, and the elevators frequently malfunctioned, leaving people stranded. Given its 5-star rating, I was shocked and disappointed by the resort's numerous shortcomings. While there were some friendly staff members, the resort's overall performance was a far cry from its advertised luxury experience. Until significant improvements are made, I would caution potential guests to temper their expectations.
