  Early Christmas Break

  Upon arrival the hotel was at full capacity so we were sent to the sister property RIU Negril. Separate review on RIU Negril. Day 2 we were checked in shortly after lunch the next day - our compensation was a 30 minute massage during our stay and an upgraded room. The hotel is lovely. A special shoutout to the entire entertainment staff. They are all very young talented and energetic individuals and did their very best to keep everyone entertained. Rim Shot a local band was also very good with their variety of songs to entertain the crowd. Rooms are very nicely appointed. We had a ground floor, oceanfront balcony room. The room was cleaned and and left spotless daily with fresh towels. We tried all the specialty restaurants and they are all good. There are 2 seatings 6:30p and 8:00p so service is quick if you are on the early seating. You can book 1 restaurant prior to arrival and then upon check in, you can book 2 restaurants on the RIU app. The buffet restaurant is great. With a wonderful selection for every possible taste. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all fabulous. The staff are all very accommodating and friendly. The grounds are kept immaculate. Cleaning everywhere is fantastic - they do a thorough clean every day after the previous nights activities. Wifi is available everywhere. And download the RIU app this is where you would communicate with the hotel on anything you require. This hotel caters to everyone's needs. We certainly thought so and so did the people whom we chatted to. Enjoy!

  Great pre Christmas break

  Can't fault this hotel spotless clean everyday, friendly helpful staff who enjoy making there guests happy,I didn't meet one member of staff who didn't smile and make me smile too,in short great food,great drinks great hotel we will definitely return

  Another great experience

  I stayed here for five nights December 13th through the 18th and overall the experience was great. This is the third time I've stayed at this resort and each time has been consistent however this time there were a few standouts. I'd like to give a special thanks to Beverly at reception. She was warm and welcoming during the check-in process and ensured that I received the room that I requested. Also throughout my stay anytime I encountered her she always had a smile on her face and never failed to ask me how I was doing. And also a shout out to Derval at the breakfast buffet. He also was warm and welcoming everyday and after the first day had my table set up before I got back with my food. These two are not only assets to the Tropical Bay facility but to the RIU brand in general. The facility is kept very clean and my room cleaning was done daily, my mini fridge was stocked daily with items that I had requested. The location is beautiful ,the beach is one of the nicest I've ever seen hence the reason I continue to go back. The buffet always had plenty of choices so there's no way anyone could starve here. I was a little let down at the steakhouse it's the first time I've eaten at one the specialty restaurants and was not impressed in the future I will stick to the buffet. The jerk Chicken shack at lunch is a standout as well and not to be missed if you're visiting. All in all I had a great time and look forward to returning soon.

  Stay here twice a year

  The best sea beach, great front desk, dining, and room service. Hope to see one day a highway between MBJ and Negril.

  Felt like a King at the Tropical Palace

  The wife and I have been to coming to Jamaica since the 90s , but i still get nervous everytime i get a group of friends to go with us . The first week of December we had a group of 10 going to the Tropical Palace . Check in was smooth and quick , do the pre check in on the RIU app. We arrived early at 2 pm , all the rooms were ready within a half hour ( early) , check in isn’t til 4 pm . The staff was awesome , everyone was nice and friendly ! Resort grounds , resturants and rooms were very clean , thank you to our room cleaner . Food was very good in the buffet and specialty resturants , ate way more than I should have lol. Beach is flawless , great sand , no weeds in the water and many shades of blue . This is a big reason why I keep coming back to Negril, the people are the other. Bartenders made great drinks and were entertaining as well . Can’t remember ever waiting too long to be served , bar manager staffed well . Entertainment crew was very visible , fun and “ entertaining” they did a great job trying to involve people as well . They also did a great job with all the Christmas Decorations throughout the resort , maybe next year they’ll bring in live reindeer hohoho I will not hesitate booking the RIU Tropical Palace again . It was everything a vacation should be . A special thanks to Julian in the front , he did a great job with our group . Respect …. If you give it , you’ll get it back🇯🇲🇯🇲
