    beautiful resort

    Very clean resort rooms were taken care of twice a day . Food was fantastic, the beach was groomed daily no rocks on the shoreline. The gym was a little smaller, but still was able to get my workout in. Overall would definitely go back !

    Oustanding Experience

    We decided to do a small stop and mini honeymoon at Hotel Riu Palace Riviera Maya and our experience was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and organized a nice decoration in our room to celebrate our wedding. We cannot be more grateful for their service, attention of detail and experience there. Definitely, we are going to visit once again in a short future!!!

    Great food, good location, clean and spacious rooms, great service

    I've been to a number of all inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya area the past few years and so far, this one has offered the best quality food. Surprisingly, the dinner buffet had the best quality and variety. We tried Italian the first night, Japanese the second night, then buffet the third and wished we had just gone to the buffet all 3 nights as the food options far exceeded the other 2 in terms of taste and quality. I'm pescetarian so it is often hard for me to find protein options when I travel but they had soo many yummy seafood options here for dinner every night. Multiple fish, shrimp, and seafood options. When we checked in, they noted that we had booked a regular room facing the outside and offered a complimentary upgrade to a courtyard view which we happily accepted. Much to my delight and pleasant surprise, it turned out to be both a courtyard and ocean view as we got the last room on floor 2 on the right side (2048). The resort is located in the Playacar neighborhood which is super safe and walkable and only about 20 min walk to the Playa Del Carmen downtown / 5th Ave area.

    Very Good Resort

    The resort was excellent. lots of room, multiple pools, access to the beach. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Very clean. Multiple locations to eat, very good buffets with lots of selection choices. Multiple restaurant choices liked a lot the Asian and Italian restaurants as well as the steak house. There is regular bar and coffee bar at the entrance grand salon, but we also found a location that is open thru the night where you can get food if you want to. Overall, the facility is amazing, and the staff is excellent.

    Affordable and extravagant

    The resort was beautiful with plenty of things to do. RIU often hosts pool party events, shows etc. The service was nothing but top notch across the board. Only one time during our stay while dining at the buffet lounge did we encounter a waiter that seemed like he wanted to be elsewhere and was rude. The food was excellent 99% of the time. I had a steak at the Chili's restaurant that wasn't that great, but overall very pleasing. The drinks were not watered down and did I mention the staff / service was excellent. If you can't have a good time at this place I'm not sure where you can. :) Peace and long life!
