  Disappointed

  I’ve been to this resort for the last ten years if it had been my first time I would have thought ok but the standards have dropped dramatically the cleaning in in room was brilliant the bar staff the same reception the worst that I have experienced with riu after 29 visits worldwide the food was average in the main eating area which was lovely they replaced with canteen standard table and chairs pool area has not been refurbished there are tiles missing in the main pool it’s a shame loved this hotel but sadly will not be returning

  Awesome as Always

  If your thinking of visiting and are reading not so favorable reviews...STOP, BOOK AND ENJOY!!! And stop by BAR Cubano and tell Danny I said Holá. Service was great, Room lovely and clean and Food was great!!!

  Excellent

  Well just came back from RIU palace Macao and all I would say is for me it had everything party friendly vibe chill out vibe the works staff were excellent restaurant were good I will say that some of the bottom floor suites had said about damp smell I never came across any 10/10 I would go by some of the reviews on here definitely worth the visit and I had met couples from all over the globe who keep going back that alone speaks volumes

  Palace Macao PUJ.

  I had talent the basic Jr suite room. The room was fine, éventuellement tough I had asked for two beds and only got one. The view from my balcony was terrible. On the 3rd floor with à view of the rooftops of the kitchen and other commun aléas with the added bonus of the smell of food l'ingérence as son as I opened the patio door. I dont' even unserstand why there are rooms with such ugly view and foul smells. I normaly loves to enjoy my balcony, but il was not possible with this room.

  Damp room caused by humidity?

  On Arr at Punta Cana Airport passport/Customs quite quick then it was time to get transport. Last visit was chaos, No different this time around. Ended up getting Taxi. Reception welcome really nice and ease of booking in. Got to room and again was quite impressed, although it sort of felt damp'ish? Nice bathroom although couple of Containers were detached from wall in shower (someone had tried to take bottle instead of just squeezing) :) 1 light bulb not working on bedside light and TV remote was absolute nightmare to use with NO instructions. Gin Bottle empty and liquid on shelf below, got bottle replace and later found Optic dripping. Got it replaced. Hotel amenities were great, lots of Restaurants. Please bear in mind that we are both "foodies". KRYSTAL (Gourmet) was Not up to par (starter Lobster Bisque was far too salty, Lobster main arrived cold and overcooked, replacement arrived hotter but still overcooked). Wife ordered Steak Mignon Med Rare it arrived RARE. STEAKHOUSE, Starter of Jalepeno Eggs ( some things should Never be mixed, Mustard, egg yoke, jalepeno and bacon pieces is a NO NO). ASIAN, (Japanese) was ok about same standard as your local chinese. Main swimming pool, smaller salt water pool and Pool bar (very busy and noisy) Loads of sunbed in and out of shade also loads between Pools and beach under palm trees. Beach Busy but loads od sunbeds, sea (Atlantic) ALWAYS a bit rough. Scuba Centre and lots of Watersport items available ie Paragliding, boarding and Sailing. Really Nice little Cafe with reasonable selection of cakes and torpedo rolls for mid afternoon Tea:). Thanks to Belkis who was charming, cheerful and always had a smile for everyone. Bar Cubano has nice atmosphere and great Staff, Danny and Franscisco barmen. Main Buffet Restaurant has nightly themed food and gr8 chefs willing to help and assist. Marcus Head Chef more than happy to appoint dedicated Sous Chef to me, as i have Garlic Allergy, who i saw for evening meal and he would cook me something :) Happy Days. Oh Yeah, the Prawns are Huge:) On Our last night i requested a Garlic Free Seafood Paella and it was brill, TOOOOO Much for 2 though. Would like to thank Leonarda (Matre'D) and Diomedes (head Waiter) for their help and assistance throughout our stay. Thankyou. Sports Bar open 24/7 for that early morning Coffee if you are a Sunrise watcher (i was there every morning). Spa has wide range of Services and quite reasonable) also Gym :( There is a Market which is quite expensive. There is a Splash Water park nearby (Walking Distance) but we did not use so unaware if part of AI or not, sorry. Other RIU Hotels can be utilised for eating drinking etc during your visit. There is a small shopping precinct near RIU Punta Cana (10 mins slow walk, Left at beach,) asusual quite expensive. On Call Docs, 24/7, working hours consults at clinic available and after 7pm Emergencies Only. During our stay we saw at least 3 people with Injuries (1 lady i actually assisted after she fell from last step, broken ankle/leg in 3 places, 5hr Op). MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HOLIDAY INSURANCE. Excusions are available. Met couple of Brits who went Fishing ($800 i think for half day and did NOT catch the big 1 they were after). Mixed weather, Mainly sunny with Heavy Rain during the night and some short sharp heavy showers during the day which caused mass evacuation to shelter. Then when rain stopped and sun came out it was Hot. Main Prob with holiday was the Damp feeling in room. cupboard etc. We believe this was the cause of wifes chest Infection/cough. Some other guest we encountered also had similiar cough and also complained of That "Damp Feeling". I had to throw 1 pair of shoes and a pair of sandals away due to mould.
