Awesome Resort, Excellent Food
We love this resort as it is smaller and compacted, you have everything you need, the beach is large, with palm trees, so you can be in the shade if you want, extremely clean and well-maintained. The food had a large variety of fish, pork, chicken, beef, seafood, most of it was very tasty and plenty. The room is older style, but clean and cozy. Very good service, friendly and polite staff.

Doubt I’ll return
This was my first trip to Mexico, and I was quite excited to go. My excitement, however, has turned to regret. Overall, the resort was nice but the food quality as a whole was a fail ( please note it was not all bad, but for the most part was not good) We tried eating at the steakhouse x2. First time the steak was terrible. We went back a second time and tried the ribs. We could not even cut through them to try them. Big fail for that restaurant. Italian was very good the first night - had the lasagna, so went back a second time. I had the chicken, took one bite and it was so sour! 🤢. I’m not sure if that’s what did it, but I was running to the bathroom for the rest of my trip and even spent one day in my room, as I couldn’t leave. Ending up eating 2 buns, one piece of toast and 3 crackers in my remaining 3 days. Buffet was okay, but bacon could be cooked differently. The ends were burnt and the middles barely cooked every single day. Sausages were good for flavour, but very tough to chew. Eggs were still runny as well so steered clear of those. Restaurant wait staff were very friendly for the most part,. Some of the bar staff could take some lessons from them. On a positive , we met some wonderful people. I may go back to Mexico some day, but since I’m still not well, it won’t be any time soon, or to this resort.

Riu Jalisco
Stayed at the resort Jan 2025. Loved almos5 everything about it. The beach is beautiful with lots of chairs and palm trees. Easy to find shade if you want to. The pools were good with the main pool having entertainment throughout the day.they need more bathrooms for the beach and pool areas. Also the hut where you sign out your towels needs to be more centrall6 located to the beach and pools instead of off in a corner. Foam party was fun. Food was good and loved the specialit6 restaurants especially the Asian and Italian one. Tried them all. Only ate at the main buffet once for dinner except for breakfast. Lots of variety and the supper buffet menu changed each day. I loved the fact there are so many places to take your food outside and eat on the terraces even for the speciality restaurants. Room was a bit outdated but beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was very clean. If you want more pillows and blankets just ask at the front desk and they will be brought to your room. Only issue with the room is the main part of the bathroom does not have a door on it. Toilet area has a door separating it from the main bathroom. Evening entertainment on main stage was good and usually got the crowd involved. Just wish it started earlier a5 8 or 8:30pm. There seemed to be music in the area by the lobby bar most evenings. Staff were awesome. Friendly and cheerful and they always seemed to be cleaning. Tip them well especially the ladies cleaning the toilet areas outside. The staff are a real asset to this resort. The hotel is closing in Aug for 5 months to undergo renovations and will reopen just before Christmas 2025. I would return here again.

Wonderful stay for family of 15
We had a wonderful stay at the RIU jalisco, the staff were amazing the grounds are beautiful and the food was delicious! The hotel will be undergoing renovations in August and it is definitely needed in parts of the pool, public washrooms and the rooms.

AVERAGE
Everything about this hotel was just OK. I think the price us rather expensive considering how average everything is but I don't have any major complaints. The hotel is older and definitely showing it's age but they keep it very clean. The beach is nice. The restaurants and buffet are just ok.
