Great choice
This hotel was so fun for my friend and I. We are early 20's. Location amazing and close to town and clubs. Extremely clean hotel, extremely hard working staff. Bar tenders remembered us and our drink order. House keepers were absolutely amazing and adorable, fresh towels and clean room daily, fridge restocked etc. no complaints about the room whatsoever, so comfy to sleep, AC and ceiling fan. Buffet actually was so good, preferred it over the restaurants. There is something for everyone. Honestly 10/10 if you are younger and looking to party, this is the place. Only complaint was our key cards were a bit finicky, only one would be working at a time and then would stop working all together, we got probably 10 new cards over our 7 day stay, which wasn't a big deal honestly it was quick enough at the front desk. Also the beach isn't the largest but still amazing nonetheless, lounge chairs down at the beach to relax for a more quiet vibe, up by the pool there's a lot of action and noise so we found there was a good balance down at the beach. Ocean was amazing to swim in. Ugh I miss it already. This was my first trip to Mexico ever, and I'm so glad I stayed here, I had an amazing time.

SO FUN
Walked in and we got a glass of champagne which was so fun and good. We can a little earlier than when our room was ready however they had a place for our bags so we could put on our swimsuits and go out and enjoy the day. The service was generally quick minus one time where we asked for another water bottle and it took over 24 hours to get it. The room and bathroom were fine. I expected the food to not be good but honestly it was pretty good! and they had a bunch of options. The drinks were also very yummy.

Avoid at all costs!!
This was a horrible experience and my wife, and I will never return. Upon arrival, we were told that our reservation was cancelled in December. Our package included flight and transfers, all of which were provided. Since it was a Saturday, the office in the Dominican Republic was closed so nothing could be done until Monday. We were given a room until "this issue can be resolved." We were told that on Monday a call would be made to our room to advise us of the outcome. No one called!! We had to go to the front desk and ask for the manager for the update. Fortunately, the issue was resolved. We were given tickets to have lunch since we hadn't eaten since before departing for the airport and there was no meal included on the plane. We were arrived at the designated location and were told that lunch was done. So, nothing to eat until dinnertime!! Our room was very nice and well maintained. The food was never hot, but lukewarm at best and bland. The entertainment was geared toward the children at the hotel. There was no other entertainment available. The nights were BORING!! There was rain two days in a row and there was nothing do to except take a tour. We took one to Chicken Itza, which is well worth a visit. The second day was spent in our room looking out of the window. As a travel agent and a former guest, I cannot and will not recommend this hotel.

Excellent Staff
We had a relaxing 2 week break at this hotel with a few excellent trips booked through the hotel thrown in. We could not fault the staff who were excellent in ALL departments. There was always a member of staff cleaning wherever we went. Always a smile and a friendly hello. The food was also really good with excellent choices, fresh and replenished regularly. You could choose the liveliness of around the pool or the quietness of the 2 beach areas or the quiet pool which was good. The entertainment team had some great games for those that wanted to to participate in. The only comment would be the behaviour of some of the guests who after a few too many drinks by late afternoon and into the evening/night were a bit of a let down. The staff managed them and the resulting mess and noise pretty well but I did feel sorry for housekeeping and security at times

Great Stay!
Enjoy the RIU brand overall. I tried to pay for decorations and I was late so they could not get the service, and they still had my room decorated with balloons and rose petals when I arrived. I appreciate them still making my birthday amazing. The only issue I have is that they don’t have the best music at the pool and it’s not consistent. I felt it lacked the vibe for an adult only resort at the pool. That is my only downfall. They definitely need a DJ from noon to atleast 5 or some sort of entertainment. Especially since it’s spring break season. People want to hear music while laying poolside . But overall had a great time and I would definitely refer this resort.
