  Star Class pool top of the line experience

  During my stay at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica, I had the pleasure of being served by Karolina at the Star Class Pool, and she was absolutely outstanding. Not only did she craft top-of-the-line drinks every time, but she also had a true gift for anticipating guests’ needs before we even asked. Her attentiveness, warm personality, and professionalism really elevated the entire poolside experience. Karolina went above and beyond to make every guest feel taken care of, and her dedication helped make my stay even more enjoyable. She is truly an asset to the resort, and I would highly recommend seeking her out if you’re staying in the Star Class area.

  Disappointing Resort Stay

  One of the most disappointing resort stays I’ve ever experienced. While the staff were friendly, they seemed poorly trained or completely unqualified. Basic expectations weren’t met — there was no air conditioning in the lobby or coffee shop, and the rooms were below average. We experienced random power outages, including lights flickering on and off at 4 a.m., which made it hard to rest. The food was a major letdown. Breakfast consisted of crusty, stale croissants and donuts that tasted like they were left out overnight. The resort's idea of an Italian restaurant was laughable — its main nod to Italy was a photo of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino on the wall. With the exception of the Japanese restaurant, the dining options were consistently subpar. Drinks at the bar were served in old, worn-out plastic cups, which only added to the overall cheap feel. Costa Rica is a beautiful country, full of incredible nature and culture — but this resort does not reflect that in any way. Avoid this place if you want your trip to be enjoyable

  Great Time at Planet Hollywood in Liberia Costa Rica

  We had a very unique and great experience at the Planet Hollywood this past week. We were there for our friend birthday. We enjoyed the atmosphere, unique shows, excursions that we experienced. The food really needs improvement, other than that we would say check it out. We were Star Class which had its perks during our stay. We would like to thank our Star Pool side bartenders and others PH staff who made the most of our stay. Especially Yeraly and Karolina our pool side bartenders, if you get the Star Class package ask for them at the Star pool area.

  Nice hotel - restaurant and bars could use work

  Overall had a nice stay here. Very clean and spacious rooms. Star class was not too beneficial maybe aside From getting dinner reservations. Only could get premium liquor at the star class pool and lobby. We were told you could get star class liquor everywhere - even in nightclub - but that is not the case. Also, some of the bartenders seemed annoyed when we ordered premium liquor (and we were tipping). The bar near the restaurants only opened in the evenings so you find yourself traveling a bit to get a drink. We had a group of over 10 and even with the reservations it was hard to sit together. The butler service is convenient but a group should be with 1 butler. Each could only reserve up to 4 people. Buffet was good. But again difficult to get drinks there. Takes awhile. Overall, good selection of restaurant options. Coupon book is useless. $500 in coupons but they make it difficult to use. Each time you try to use they tell you there’s a minimum spend or not available. Pool and beach areas are nice. The golf cart service is very helpful. The spa is also nice and I enjoyed the services there. Overall, I would come back. I wouldn’t do star class. I would buy a bottle at the airport instead.

  Loved Planet Hollywood, and the hospitality of the Star Class staff, especially Yeilin and Yeraly!

  Traveled with my cousin and sister to Planet Hollywood Costa Rica. The resort felt very secure and safe. We had gotten a deal through Costco Travel for the Star Class package and it was well worth. We had an ocean view room which was located at the top of the hill near the Fuel Coffee, buffet, steak, and hibachi/sushi restaurants. Though it wasn’t too close to the pool, the shuttle service made it easy to get around the resort and down the hill. The star class gave us access to the Fuel Coffee shop, the star class pool, a personal agent, etc. Yeilin the personal agent that helped us was so kind and helped us to book dinners at times that worked with our early schedule. She really went above and beyond to make my belated bday celebration special! Yeraly at the Star Class pool was so friendly and attentive. He helped to make our time at the star class pool relaxing and enjoyable. The food at the resort was probably the best we’ve had at all inclusive resorts. The amount of vegetables and fresh fruit at the Buffet was amazing. Only issue is that sometimes the food labels weren’t placed properly, but that’s all. All of the a la carte restaurants were really good, the steakhouse, the Tex-mex had really good options. My favorite of the restaurants aside from the buffet was the Hibachi. The chef Kinua (sorry for spelling) was really nice and attentive to everyone’s requests. Made the experience fun with all his tricks too. Sometimes Hibachi can be a little salty, but he seasoned the food so well, yum :). The burgers at Guy’s by the pool were a nice afternoon snack and addition to the food options. This resort is family friendly, and had a lot of options for activities. You can tell the resort/staff put in the effort to entertain and made the place fun for people of all ages. Lastly, I wanted to mention that the hotel is located right by a black sand beach with clear water. There is a family of friendly Capuchin monkeys that live right by the beach that are fun sight to see without having to venture far from the resort. Overall, we had a nice stay at the resort and would return again.
