  A most excellent adventure in Costa Rica

  The experience at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica was an excellent one that I won't forget! The staff are friendly and work incredibly hard to ensure everything went smoothly. Also, if you want a friendly face to talk to and one who also makes a great mojito, see Paola at the pool bar We did three excursions and Airport tranfer used nomadtourscr we had read all the reviews that suggested using him.Gabriel was very friendly and the excursions we booked La leona waterfall hike, Hacienda Aromal for horse back riding zipline and atv, Sloth forest.. Every excursion we did was amazing!! You really can't go wrong! Plan on some long drives to get to many of the excursions. If you get car sick, bring dramamine......you definitely need it!

  Great food, staff and service!

  Food was excellent! Karol, Josue are Joseph are the best! Funny, kind, and wonderful people! Our second time here! Love it here! We will be definitely back!!! Thank you for everything!! Karol went with the flow and was a comedian for us! Mucho gusto!

  Resort, Staff, Food, Shuttles, Entertainment-GREAT. Beach needs improvement. Bars have to be open longer at night

  Amazing place in the middle of the tropical forest. Interior is nicely done in modern style with Hollywood features and famous movies/actors pictures, red carpet, etc. THE STAFF is very friendly and ready to help as soon as we ask so. Marriott Supervisor Emily was the best. Since the moment we’ve arrived until we’ve left the resort, she was taken good care of us. We’ve arrived early morning long before check-in time; while we were exploring the property, she texted as soon as our room was ready. Every morning we got text with the daily activities info; she helped to do all restaurants reservations. ROOMS All rooms have a nice view, surrounded by tropical plants. The room has all necessary things, a lot of cabinets, steamer, hair dryer, toiletries, great shower, balcony. The only one disappointment was the air-conditioning. The location was chosen wrong; it is over TV and it blows directly into face when you are in the bed. Not only my opinion, heard other guests. RESTAURANTS We tried each restaurant during our stay. The food was natural and delicious, service was fast, except in Italian place. The waiters were friendly & good at service, Randall at Steakhouse, Jose at Italian; but Joselin at Costa Rican/Mexican restaurant was the best of all, she was not only friendly and nice but very professional, thank you. The buffet had a good variety of fresh fruits/vegetables, different cultures dishes. The only thing, we expected to see more different types of fish since the resort is next to the ocean. BARS The service at the pool bars was kind of slow. All bars inside resort are closed at 10 pm; except Sport Bar (until 1am). I think at least 1 more bar has to be open longer. A lot of people tried to get drinks in advance so they can continue to hang out in the main lobby or outside at the patios on each floor. We stayed in resorts in different countries in Europe, there all bars are open until 12-1 am; people on vacation and want to spend time socializing. We used the bar on the 3rd floor more often, because the barman (very sorry, forgot the name; he was only one there) was very professional, friendly and nice, thank you. TRANSPORT Very great to have those shuttles to go around the resort. 24 h, waiting no more than 2-3 min. ENTERTAINMENT Every night there were different shows, movies. During the day there were a lot of activities next to the pool; fun entertainers and non-stop music. BEACH Beach really needs to be taken care. Clear, nice water with the black sand, shallow, but the beach looks wild. The sunbeds are in place, but surroundings need to be cleaned. Also, cannot pass without being “attacked” by salesmen trying to sell massages, tours and souvenirs. SUMMARY Property, Staff, Restaurants, Food, Shuttles, Entertainment are GREAT. Beach needs improvement. Bars have to be open until later hours. AC location at rooms is not good. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TIME!

  Overall, not the greatest

  Overall the grounds are very nice at Planet Hollywood. The rooms are clean and the pool was great. The staff was very friendly. The property is very large so you have to go by cart to be transported from different parts of the property. You can certainly opt to walk but there are some steep hills that you have to hike up and down that can be difficult to many. The buffet, steak and sushi restaurant are in the main building at the top of the hill. The italian, and tex mex are in the pool area which are at the bottom of the hill. My room was by the pool and I found it annoying there wasn't a bar area at night that you could go to outside of the restaurants. The only option was to go back to the main building. The housekeeping staff was not so great. They cleaned the rooms but failed to replenish the basics like water and towels. I had to ask multiple times to have my towels and water refilled. These are just basic expectations that I found to be very frustrating. The morning buffet I found to be frustrating because they only had eggs available fresh to order. So you had to stand in line everytime you wanted eggs and wait for them to make them how you want. It would be nice to have a station with just scrambled or medium eggs to grab. Also, you had to specifically ask for bacon at the egg station as this was nothing something they had out in the buffet. This was very strange and many people were confused by this. The staff was mostly friendly and very accommodating. However, one morning, I unexpectedly decided to go to the buffet for breakfast and was denied entry due to not abiding by the dress code. I had a sheer cover up over my bathing suit. I had seen several other people dine in similar dresses however she would not admit me to the buffet. I complained to the front staff and they were quite surprised they would not let me in. My last issue came at check out. They give you a book of coupons to use for different reasons such as ordering a bottle of wine, signing up for excursions, etc. I had used their app to order a bottle of wine to my room two different nights. (Note, they defer you to the app for almost everthing)> Note, there is nowhere in the app to enter a coupon code to get the $25 off for the bottle. When I offered the coupon to the person who delivered the wine, they did not seem to understand what it was. So at checkout, I showed them my coupons and explained that the person who delivered my wine didn't understand what they were and so I wanted to apply the $25 credit at checkout. They would not honor this for me. I even spoke to the manager and we went round and round on this and she would not honor the coupons because I was trying to use at checkout. Suffice to say, I was very disappointed in the service with this 5 star property and might add I am a Marriott Gold member.

  Planet Hollywood is fantastic !!

  Amazing stay at PH !! All of the service and staff were so caring and fantastic.we had a memorable week in a beautiful hotel. A special shout out to the staff at the Tex Mex restaurant! Karol. Josue and Alfredo made our experience wonderful. Kudos to them !!
