    Enjoyed the V47 club

Tessa Pua was very helpful at the v47 club and the happy hour and the breakfast spread was fresh and tasty. Enjoyed the various fruits and pastries and different entries. She was very friendly and accommodating when we arrived at the end of the happy hour. Also enjoyed the pool towel service and the pools.

    Poor management

The hotel is fair. Restaurant food is below average and expensive. The hotel store is also very expensive. On 1/28/24 we purchased containers of poke and edamame for our dinner the following day and put it in our room refrigerator. On 1/29/25 we returned from our 11hour tour to find our food frozen. I immediately went to the front desk, with the frozen poke and edamame. The woman and the front desk was no help. Never asked my name or room number. She said she would get the manager. When the female manager came out she asked what the issue was. I showed her the frozen food and her first response was “ well we can microwave it” I explained it was poke and apparently did not care. Once again never asking for my name or room number. Needless to say they did nothing and it was too late to go anywhere for dinner. So beware

Great Place to Stay on Big Island

The trees/grounds are kept up daily. The rooms are good size and were clean w/ modern furniture. The mattress was soft for me, but that is personal preference. We saw whales off the pool deck. The only negative, non valet parking was not free.

    Sadly dissapointed…

We returned after a few years break and were sadly disappointed. We visited this property since our kids were small and watched it change hands several times but this time I don’t know if we can return. They have changed the good things but doubled down on the bad? 1 took out the restaurant by the ocean and created a “bistro style dining” option. 2 the bar is only open till 5pm. This makes the dining options ver slim and creates a “food dessert scenario” 4 they took out the option of sunset club. 5 every restaurant was badly understaffed and even though the staff were really good and my husband spoke to the manager about a lunch that took 2.5 hours we got the impression that they could honestly give a sh*#. 6 they took out the kids games room with billiard tables and shuffle board. Finally, They boast a 60 million dollar renovation and my suspicion that every contract was an insider job because they layout has suffered, the decor has been muted, they have replaced natural beauty with flat screen TVs and the whole vibe has been gutted. This leaves me to wonder if they are trying to purposefully?
