    Pleasantly surprised!

To be honest, based on the photos, I imagined OTI would be more of a budget motel type establishment, but I was pleasantly surprised for the most part. The room and bathroom were much larger than expected and best of all - VERY effective air-conditioning to beat the heat and humidity. I also loved having plenty of lighting all over the place, although 5-6 of the bulbs did not work. Overall, we had a comfortable time in the room - The Wi-Fi was basic speed but we were still able to even for example - stream video inside our room. The beds and bedding were sufficiently comfortable for our needs. Besides our balcony, the flower-covered terrace in the middle of the hotel has a really lovely view over the Bassetere waterfront. Breakfast was above average - eggs, toast, and fruit all served a la carte. Short walk to Basseterre center, great restaurant Serendipity is next door plus their own well-rated Fisherman's Wharf (we didn't get a chance to eat there) Only downside is depending where your room is, it's sort of laid out along a hillside so it is a bit of maneuvering to get down to our room.

    Nice Resort

Room, resort and staff were very good Pool area disappointing, needed more chairs. An outside children's party was being held the first day of our stay and we could not get seating around the pool. Resort is in a good location and walking distance of the shopping area where the cruise ships dock. Restaurants affiliated with the resort alternate the days they are open for dinner. Breakfast is held at the restaurant on the resort property. The other restaurant is across the street.

    lovely stay, but some shortcomings

Booked OTI as prefer small and friendly to large and corporate. It was a good decision. The staff mostly, especially Teshan on front desk, were so welcoming, helpful and professional. Our room was an Ocean Terrace Suite, and was very spacious and quiet and had the expected bay view which was great. Lots of windows giving different aspects and a large balcony. Air con was the simplest, quietest and most efficient I can recall. The negatives were that despite their stated strap line 'exceeding your expectations' they didn't. The room spec detailed tea & coffee making facilities, however there was only a coffee filter machine and two sachets of filter coffee. No kettle if you wanted to make tea, as well as coffee, but no tea offered anyway, no sugar or milk - fresh, Uht or powdered. No glasses in the room. There was a fridge though, in fact there were two!! Having asked the following day for some milk, we were given enough milk in a plastic pot for one cup of tea, which was not ever replaced. Fortunately I had brought some tea bags but when they ran out, using the coffee machine, I left a note in the room for some teabags. I got 4, which were not replaced when used up. No water in the room after the first day, which is odd these days, being supplied in almost any other hotel anywhere. The bathroom area was fabulously spacious with a dressing area, but the toiletries were awful - I think the shampoo and shower gel were identical products but couldn't be completey sure as one of the dispensers did not work, I took the top off to try to fix, they smelt and looked identical. They were not full on arrival hence the room service did not try them or refill them, the entire week. The grounds of the hotel and the pool area were lovely, with lots of separate areas for group or quiet activity. Staff everywhere greeted with a smile. The only aspect that not only didn't exceed, but didn't even meet expectations was the food/restaurant areas. There are two restaurants: Verandah for breakfast and Sunday lunch/dinner, we only used for breakfast and it was very inconsistent with service, both in length of time to deliver, and in freindliness of staff, some were nice, one was not ever, nobody seemed to care about delivering cold food which was meant to be hot. Food itself was not bad and the view from the terrace was fantastic, but very windy. They did have an electric visor/blind which was operated to mitigate the intensity of the sun and the wind, which was a very good addition. The other restaurant, Fisherman's Wharf, was allegedly open every day for lunch and dinner apart from Sunday. We did not see any activity there, from our balcony, which sadly was probably due to the number of poor reviews, our one visit, late in our trip because we felt we should try it, was very dissappointing. Would not recommend. Although the food aspect of this review is negative, we would come to OTI again as the location was great, proximity to Basseterre and also diving was literally 5 mins in car, 10 walking. Our overall stay was very good and we loved our room despite its shortcomings. I would not give such a harsh report, had the management not been so confident that their product exceeded, where it did not. I must add though that the manager did make himself known on day one, hoping that we would enjoy our stay, so it is our responsibility to make issues known if we feel something is lacking. It is not our way to moan and groan about the small things so we didn't. Additionally, we also had cause to speak to the catering management on our last day, and she did absolutely sort out an issue quickly and acceptably.

    Friendly and comfortable

Perfect location and very friendly service. Clean and comfortable small hotel. Good value for money. My favorite place to stay in St Kitts. Highly recommended, especially if you are doing business in Basseterre.

    Exceptional stay

We are a family from the Czech Rep. and we spent 6 days in the hotel with our 2 kids, 8 and 12. We had an apartment directly in front of the pool. Our daughters can’t forget about the turtles in the small pond below the restaurant and the small lizards all over the place. The staff was of great help whenever we needed anything. Downtown is about 15 min by walk and my husband and smaller daughter would go there every day to buy some stuff. They both loved it. It was really quiet there and the kids enjoyed the pool every day- really beautiful and large. We loved to talk to Techan at the reception who was very much helpful. Maybe the only thing that I would change is that breakfast would be in the form of a buffet. My daughter is now saying to me that she really misses the hotel and the sandwiches and the every day walk to the shop in the downtown. Thank you very much for the pleasant experience. I wish you a lot of satisfied guests.
