Great start to birthday celebration
When we arrived, it was quick check in with Yhara. She was great with getting us checked in and settle with our first drinks. Thank you for a great start to our stay. There is beautiful lobby with great service helping getting us and our luggage to our room.

the hotel and the city are amazing!
Our Experience at the Hotel – 1 Week Stay Pros: The hotel is amazing! The pools, the play areas for kids, the service, everything was fantastic. The Japanese restaurant and Amaranto were our favorites – absolutely top-notch! Overall, the attention from the staff was excellent, everyone was super friendly and always ready to help with whatever we needed. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Cons: The beach was a bit disappointing – there were rocks and a lot of seaweed, which made it quite uncomfortable to enjoy the sea. We even saw someone get hurt because of this, so be cautious. Also, be mindful of the travel time to the airport. They are currently working on the highway, and the ride can easily take 1 hour and 40 minutes or even longer. We did one excursion to Puerto Morelos – the cenote was stunning, but the lunch could have been much better. They took us to an “authentic” taco place, but it wasn’t that great. The last part of the trip was snorkeling, and this was a letdown. We barely saw anything special – just a few fish here and there – so that part could definitely be improved.

WARNING: Know before you go!
Aesthetically, the resort is nice, and the beach is okay (a lot of big rocks once you enter the ocean -- hazardous for children playing). BUT, a few things you should know... The service is absolutely terrible. Its like everyone who works there is miserable. From Caesar at the front desk, to Paola at the beach restaurant.. no one smiled, and no one was helpful in answering questions. I've never experienced service so horrible. NOBODY WANTED TO HELP. The food was bearable, but not good. We saw cockroaches in the Japanese and Italian restaurant. There is a third-party service working from the hotel that offers a "free-ride" downtown to explore -- this was a SCAM! On the way downtown with my wife and 3 young kids (all under 6 years old), they FORCE you to visit a jewelry store for 1 hour, then a tequila store for 1 hr 20 mins... there is nothing around you and you cannot leave unless you pay for your own taxi. When I found out about the scam -- and didn't want to waste half my day -- the taxi was $112 USD to return back to the hotel -- luckily, another upset family split the cost with us. Of course, the hotel is part of this scam, furthered the deception, and refused to make it right for us. I typically only leave a review if the establishment was great... but for this one, this was very bad. I will never go back here.

Great experience!
Love the kids club activities at night! Viri and Karely are fantastic with the kids! Our kids loved the programming. We had a wonderful stay at the privilege hotel and enjoyed all of the amenities. Highly recommend upgrading. We enjoyed all of the meals and our butler Adriano made our trip fantastic!

Bad experience resort
Honest review.. Disappointed experience, especially our anniversary after we booked with sunwing upon arrival for check-in, they told us we are not allowed to stay in the family section we booked(me and my husband). The front desk( very attitude)inforced us to upgrade our room for the adult section, which we didn't want to pay extra for it. Also it was almost 9 pm and we have been very tired from travel my husband accepted just to get rest with paying almost 500$ canadian. After the second day, we saw more than a couple they had already checked in for the family section. After we spoke to the supervisor, they mentioned we asked to upgrade, and they mentioned we tried to tip the front desk to upgrade our room, which this is incorrect , we could upgrade with sunwing much cheaper. Also, other advice do not to accept any offer from the H10 agent, which they try to make you sign for their resorts. Also the room phone wasn't working. The food wasn't a good experience, unfortunately. Just peace of mind try to book another resort and save your money. We are working very hard to spend a week relaxing but we have been stressed all week.
