    This hotel was just average.

    This is the 2nd time in 1 year that I used Expedia for booking. It seems the hotels DO NOT give 3rd parties bookings any respect. Each time I have to fight for a better room. Last year (Cancun) the room view was looking @ the top of a straw hut. I asked for a change of room. Of course they did not have none. I suggested they call their sister hotel for accommodation...this went on for a while until they realized I was not backing down. This stay the room was on the ground floor behind the stage. I asked when "do they perform', and "for how long"? They did not have any other rooms. Had to escalate to the manager, and they found a room on the six floor. I'm tired of fighting for my rights. I believe these hotels think of 3rd party bookings as second-class citizens. What did we not pay??? The Food @ the Specialty restaurants was good, but the buffets were not good @ all. With ALL the Spring breakers (drinking heavy), it was very quiet once the sun went down. They were passed OUT. LOL

    Nice small resort in terms of walking around. Italian restaurant was good, seafood restaurant didn't even off shrimp.

    Excellent location.

    Convenience location, few steps away from jumping into a catamaran to Isla Mujeres, and also few steps away from getting into to the Pirate ship.

    Hotel is run down but Staff was amazing!

    Okay, so upon arrival I instantly regretting booking this hotel. I had reserved a room with two beds and we received a king with no chance of changing it. The resort is situated next to a marina with tons of boats coming and going in the early hours, and into the evening, and basically all day. The beach area is SUPER small. The hotel is very outdated, dingy and smells musty. I paid $80 USD for 2 bottles of Sunscreen! After the initial night I actually called Apple Vacations and tried to get moved to a different resort. Food choices were lacking as well - and with allergies that can be pretty discouraging. I ended up speaking with one of the restaurant Sous Chefs and she hooked us up with a Gluten Free menu which helped ALOT. The staff is amazing at this resort and really took care of us. They even had a Superbowl party and snacks and played the game on a huge projector near the pool. So yes, it wasn't up to standards in certain areas but the staff and their attentiveness made up for what was lacking for sure! If you are looking for a quite beach retreat, stay out of the Cancun hotel district for sure!
