Nov 20, 2024Overall, an enjoyable stay for a family vacation
Pros: Great restaurant selections and qualities. Cabanas reserved for preferred club guests is a huge plus. There are several pools that could suit different needs. App is convenient to use, and service is prompt. Cons: Room cleanness could be improved. Check-in process for preferred club guests was not pleasant. We were quickly guided through the magnificent main lobby and walked 2 minutes to a separate preferred club to check-in. No welcome drink. No water. Just sat and waited. When it's our turn, we were told our two rooms were on the same floor but in two different buildings. I told them I emailed a week ago requesting two rooms on the same floor or at least in the same building and did receive a reply that the comment was noted. The lady told me she couldn't see any notes in the system. She did try to solve the problem for us and finally got a solution to change our room type. We agreed on it. Even though, the second room wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours. Then, we were taken to the corner of the place and a guy tried to schedule us a meeting for timeshare pitch. It took us a solid 1-hour to check-in and got to our room. After another hour, we went back and got the keys for the second room. Another big disappointment was that the activities for the night were cancelled minutes before without notification two days in a row during our 3-night stay.

While this place is breathtakingly beautiful, all of the inner workings need help. Aside from Maris, the food is incredibly mediocre, the pool bars close before dark, the pools themselves were already closed by 7:30pm for cleaning, and alcoholic drinks aren't served until 10am (Mimosa with breakfast? Forget about it.). I am unfortunately FAR from the only person to share these feelings as we were warned by friends of ours before we even arrived at the hotel. Compared to other resorts that I have stayed at, the gym on the property isn't close to satisfactory as they are missing even some basic machines (cable cross over specifically). The service is exceptional, as you would expect from a resort at this price range. What I didn't expect was to be evacuated from the pool bar area after a child defecated in the connecting pool. There is not even a small chance of us returning to this resort. 2/10 rating, in my opinion.

Ordinary. Have been to several Secrets and this is the poor second cousin. Do not go unless you have to ie travelling with children. Fabulous beach, terrific pools, friendly staff but too many shortfalls. The menus sound better than the food tastes and I don't consider myself a 'foodie' Disappointed that several options on the buffet surpassed the restaurants and I've never said that about any all inclusive I've travelled to. Very musty smelling room and we were in the PC area.

We all had a great time at Dreams Playa Mujeres on a girls trip. They have many pools to hang out at and the premium liquors were very good. Food was good but have had better. The staff was wonderful and always helpful and friendly. Our room was amazing and we would return

Pleasing to the soul
Sea legs pool overlooking the ocean was my favorite. All of the activities are spaced throughout the day and are very engaging. I had a poolside dart game with Gabriel that was a bit challenging due to the wind, but brought some laughs. The wait staff and bartenders are very accommodating and attentive. This resort is beautiful and relaxing.
