Stay away!!
Awful experience at this resort, the staff were not interested in serving the guests some of the staff seemed almost annoyed with guests. Our room was tired and dirty nothing worked mini bar was only filled if you asked even then it was 50/50 it would get done. Main buffet could not handle the number of guests, always had to wait in line, buffet ran out of plates on numerous occasions food was ok but not always hot. Beach was beautiful if you could find someplace to sit, pool was ok again not enough seating and always someone trying to sell you something. Would not return to this hotel or recommend .

Enjoyable week at The Level Melia Caribe
Had another enjoyable week at The Level Melia Caribe. Beautiful setting, attentive staff and good food - especially at The Level Buffett Riviera restaurant. Our Concierge Feliz was very helpful! Downsides were fewer restaurants available (three) than in past years and limited menu at those restaurants. This was a super busy week with 90% occupancy and the beach and pools were crowded so you needed to get there early (around 8:30am) to save your chair.

Great value for the money
We are in our 6th of 7 days at the Melia Caribe Beach Resort, and I wanted to provide a detailed review of the resort because I read so many negative reviews in the two weeks before we arrived. Reviews so bad we questioned our decision to stay here. In short, we found these negative reviews to be grossly overstated and completely unfounded. This resort is a great value at this price point with beautiful/well-kept grounds, good service, good food, mostly friendly staff, a great beach, and excellent housekeeping. My opinion is that the negative reviews might be linked to unrealistic expectations. We would definitely stay here again. My thoughts on the resort: Level Upgrade Worth it. Our private concierge Abelardo Feliz was fantastic. Catered to our every need. Kept our snacks and drinks stocked in our room, made all of our dinner reservations, and made sure our stay was as perfect as possible. With the upgrade we had a larger room that was next to the level pool and the Riviera Restaurant, a perfect location. We also had access exclusive level only restaurants, pool, and a private beach. All were less crowded than the standard offering, making this in itself worth the extra expense. I don’t think the level is necessary though to have a good experience. Just a less crowded experience. Grounds Very nice, tropical, well manicured, and very clean. It is a big resort, but we could walk anywhere in the resort in 12-13 minutes or less. Where our room was is about the farthest point from the beach, but it was only a 12 minute walk. Rooms Our room was spacious and clean. Maybe slightly dated, but no complaints. We had cleaning service every day that did a great job. Buffets We had all breakfasts and most lunches at the buffets. About half at level restaurants and half non level. The food is what you would expect at a buffet, and about the same at level and non level. If you go into this knowing what buffet food is, you won’t be impressed nor will you be disappointed. We did not have long waits and did not experience issues finding silverware or plates as others described, but we ate at non-peak times. The level buffets never seemed crowded. But the non level buffets were extremely crowded at peak times. Ala Carte Restaurants We had dinner at the Riviera, Cape Nao, La Hacienda, and Tauro. All were very good. We are eating at Russo tonight and expect the same. Reservations were easy to get as Feliz took care of this for us. This probably saved us an hour wait at customer service if we had to do this ourselves. Service Overall service was extremely good in all aspects of the resort. There were a few instances where the wait staff was not very engaged with us or somewhat unfriendly, but even then they served us well. The vast majority of our experiences the staff was very friendly and engaging with great personalities. Pools The level pool was perfect. Nice setting and not horribly crowded. We did not have any issues getting chairs. Some negative reviews I read indicated that if you didn’t reserve chairs by 6:00 AM that you could not find a chair. We did not find that to be the case, level or non level. We walked by the non level pool every day around 8 or 9 and there were still a few chairs available. But, if you find to get the chair you want you have to be there by 6…….be there by 6. Problem solved. Beach The private beach at the level was one of the nicest beaches we have visited. We reserved our chairs by about 7:30 every morning and had chairs in the shade all day in perfect weather. Trams/trains Ran continuously all day around the resort. More often than not we had no wait - the tram was either waiting for us or was just pulling in. I think twice we needed to wait 5 minutes. No biggie. If I had one negative though, this would be it. Not only were the trams running all day, so were service vehicles, contractor trucks, golf carts, and mopeds. And this traffic was right through the heart of the resort and only feet from your room/patio. Made for a very busy, noisy environment. Almost made the resort feel like an amusement park. Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Melia was a dream experience!
This place is absolutely beautiful. The beach and pool area were pristine, with the food and drinks being delicious. The activities team led by Ronny Mercado made the experience a blast! Ronny really brought a smile to our face and is the man!
