Nov 27, 2024Don't waste $$ on the Level tier
This review is specific to the food/restaurants. We're currently here until Dec 4 for nine nights. On the first day, I requested dinner reservations for the entire week (between 6:30-7:30). I received 3...with times of 9:30pm, 8:30, 7:30. We upgraded to the Level Tier specifically to get better dinner times/ reservations and now we must eat at the buffet 6 nights out of our 9 nights! The concierge that was assigned to us didn't help at all. Don't pay extra for Level service, it's not worth the extra $$.

Very memorable destination
What a beautiful resort. From the moment we stepped off the bus in that lobby until we got back on the bus to go home we were treated like absolute royalty. It such an amazing place. The grounds are breathtaking and so full of flowers, trees gardens and ponds. There’s so much to look at. It is a large resort with a lot of walking, but there is a couple of trains and golf carts to take you to where you need to go. The food is great. The buffets so get repetitive, but that’s any buffet antwheee you go. There is something for everyone with lots of options to choose from. The a la cartes are spectacular, with Tatauro; the steakhouse, being our favourite. We stayed Level so we had access to Riviera which was a buffet/a la Carte and it was delicious. The rooms are large and nice, but a little dated. It didn’t burden our trip however. We only used the room to sleep so it was perfect. The beach is so beautiful and very well kept. Sargasm is cleaned up first thing in the morning. It truly is a sight to see. The most memorable part of our trip was the staff. I cannot speak enough for how absolutely wonderful and incredible they all are. Everyone is so kind and always so happy to see you. They put a smile on our faces every time. There are so many wonderful staff but there’s a few that really stood out to us. Ericson was our concierge and he made our vacation the most spectacular it could be. He really made it next level. He was so attentive and always eager to strike up a conversation. He was always there to answer any questions or solve any issues we may have had. He is the kindest soul and just an overall great person. He is amazing at what he does. He deserves 10 stars in my opinion. Other great staff were Luciano, Wilfredo, Dolce, Nancy, Mai, Treicy, Francesco, Roberlito, Michel and Juan Louise. I know there are many more I just can’t remember names. Overall this is the place to go. Make memories, live your best life and visit Melia Caribe Beach. You won’t be disappointed.

Nov 23, 2024The Amazing, the Good and the 'Needs Improvement'
My 15th time to the Dominican and am giving a concise & honest review for this resort: Amazing!!!: - Steakhouse a la carte restaurant - Beach - Pool - Grounds - Splash park (& chicken wings are delicious!) Good :): - Buffets (repetitive, however can always find something good to eat) - Rooms: stayed in a deluxe room that is not located on the Level side. It was very clean and I rate it overall as a 7 out of 10 - Nightshows: really enjoyed two of the shows - Magic show and the Circus. Needs Improvement (oy!): Note that these can all be fixed..... - No waiters to serve drinks on beach or pool (never saw one during my entire trip) - Daily schedule of activities and night shows - should display the schedule on a wall in the lobby or buffet area (APP is not always accurate/updated with night shows) - Very dirty lounge chairs in the pool area (in real need of a pressure wash) - Huge lack of smiles except in the lobby area; this can be a negative during your stay as the environment is impacted; many look very unhappy when serving beverages/coffee in the buffet restaurants and bar. It's very evident they dislike their jobs and/or the leadership is lacking (we gave tips to three employees who deserved it).

Beautiful experience
