Nov 19, 2024Quick Birthday weekend getaway in Costa Mujeres
Review: Wonderful Birthday Getaway in Costa Mujeres We booked a quick long weekend birthday getaway for my husband and chose this resort for our first visit to Costa Mujeres (and our 10th time in Mexico). Here’s a detailed breakdown of our experience: The Highlights • Beautiful Beach: The most stunning beach we’ve ever seen in Mexico. • Cleanliness: The resort was impeccably clean. • Restaurants: Organized and efficient, with minimal to no waits. • Room (Once Upgraded): Spacious, modern design, comfortable beds, and well-equipped with a coffee maker, espresso machine, kettle, fridge, and steamer. Room Experience • Initial Room: We booked a swim-up suite but were initially assigned a room in the 1000 block. Unfortunately, this felt more like a plunge pool with a gravel pit view and no lounging space for sunbathing. • Room Switch: After two nights, we were moved to a proper swim-up room. This upgrade made all the difference—it had ample sunbathing space and a swimmable area directly in front of the room. Suggestion for Improvement: Install tilting wall mounts for TVs to make them easier to watch from the bed. Activities & Entertainment • Sports Bar: The go-to place at night! We enjoyed watching a boxing match and MMA fight on the big screen, as well as a fun karaoke night. • Mexican Night: Great food and lively music—highly recommended. Butler Service Our butler, Isaac, was exceptional. He communicated with us through the app, assisted with our room change, and made helpful restaurant recommendations. He was always available and attentive to our needs. Pools & Weather • Pools: While not heated, they were manageable. • Weather: Unfortunately, two out of our four days were rainy, but we made the most of it. Final Thoughts We’re looking forward to returning for a week-long stay to fully relax and enjoy the resort. However, we would only return if guaranteed a proper swim-up room (not in the 1000 block, which we felt was not worth the extra cost). The staff seemed genuinely happy and were a joy to interact with, adding to the positive experience. Recommendation This is a fantastic resort, and I highly recommend it to others! Gym Experience • Equipment: The gym was well-equipped with cardio machines, free weights, and weight machines. • Condition: Some of the weight machines felt dated and sticky to the touch. • Etiquette: Many guests lacked gym etiquette, often leaving equipment unwiped after use. • Atmosphere: The gym didn’t have the most pleasant smell, which was a bit off-putting. Great kids club
Diana and Alondra at the Kids Club were excellent. Our little boy lit up when he saw them! The kids club was a highlight, even though our boy was only 1. They had plenty to do indoors, and each day they had other activities like horse back riding (even though he just sat on the horse). We liked how the resort was laid out, the beach and pools were excellent. Our only negative was that the music during the day and late at night was very loud for a little one sleeping not far away. Luckily we had a sound machine :)

A majestic stay
We stayed in a rooftop plunge pool suite at the Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres resort from September 27 to October 5, 2024, and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The service, the beach, resort events, food and accommodations, everything exceeded our expectations. The room - Our suite in the 3400 series was perfect. It was spacious, full of natural light, and thoughtfully designed with large closets, multiple seating areas, and a comfortable bed. The shower, tub, and vanity area were generously sized and well-appointed. The room’s location was quiet yet conveniently close to all amenities. The restaurants - If you can't find something you enjoy eating here, it might be hard to please your taste buds! There is a lot of diversity between the restaurants and the cuisines and we didn’t have a meal we didn’t enjoy. Room service, hotdogs and burgers on the beach, buffets, fine dining, seafood, authentic Mexican food, steak, they have it all. You will not go hungry. Exceptional Service A standout feature of our stay was the impeccable service, especially from our assigned butler Katia. From the moment we arrived, Katia went above and beyond to ensure our visit was flawless. Katia exhibited an impeccable sense of professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail that truly set the tone for our stay. Whether it was arranging last-minute dinner reservations or surprises in our suite, flawlessly handling special requests, or simply anticipating our needs before we voiced them. Other staff we’d like to mention: Mateo at the Bistro. Happy and engaging, personable, excellent service and smiles from start to finish. Our personal butler Katia let the restaurant know that each of us had a birthday that week so they serenaded us, followed by decadent cake. One of our most memorable dinners during our stay. The piano player during dinner was awesome too! Moises at the Soothe pool bar. Incredibly kind and personable. Deyvison at Mar House. What a gentleman. Aside from a wonderful dinner and service, we enjoyed the time we had speaking with Deyvison. He spoke of tradition and culture and he felt like an old friend. This dinner was a highlight of our trip because of Deyvison. Also, a special shout-out to Daniela, Yuli, Elias & Angel at Mar House during our daytime visit to the buffet. They are all top-notch! Orlando at the Crazy Mariachi. What a fun-spirited individual! He had a lot of great energy and every table he served was smiling or laughing with him. His food recommendations were outstanding. Cauich at the Moon Beach Bar. This personable fellow worked so hard in the heat! Never at rest, he made sure everyone was hydrated and he did it with a smile. He was part of the reason why we enjoyed being at the beach. Daniela is very pleasant. We ran into her at Flavors and Mar House. Warm smiles and very professional. Miguel at the Cheer swim-up bar. He entertained a group of us one afternoon when we were all taking refuge from the heat. A jovial and fun-loving individual, he had us all laughing while mixing drinks and shooters. Beach Grill staff. Everyone that worked at this grill was incredibly nice. They would customize your order to your liking and make conversation. The iguanas liked to hang out here too. Housekeeping staff – our room was immaculately upkept every day. The purpose of our vacation was to unwind and relax from two very busy schedules. We left feeling not just cared for, but truly valued as a guest. I cannot recommend the Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres enough, especially if you're fortunate to have these wonderful people taking care of you. Customer service is the priority at this well-run resort. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable—we will undoubtedly return!

Great hotel and service
Our experience at this hotel was amazing, all the staff were especially welcoming, attentive and friendly. Misael at the infinity swim up bar, Ariel, Eduardo & Oliver in the animation team, Marisol our cleaner and Giovanni from the Italian restaurant were the best! Our favourite restaurant was the steakhouse, both the service and quality of food was great we ate there continuously throughout our stay. The facilities are really good at this hotel, our only change would be for Indian cuisine to be available as this is our favourite food. We would recommend this place to our friends and family and hope to return in the future!

Rooms/Resort This resort is stunning in its aesthetics. The grounds were great and well maintained. The rooms are very spacious. Though the TV placement on the wall makes it difficult to watch from your bed after a long day. They need to install articulating wall mounts to be able to see it from your bed properly. Other than that the room was one of the best we have stayed in. Elegance Club Jr Suite Outdoor Jacuzzi was the suite we had. Amazing!! Service/food The service could use some improvement. But not the worst I have had in Mexico. The food could use some improvement for the price you pay to be at this resort. I would rate the food a 5/10. There wasn't one restaurant that we felt we needed to go back and eat again. The best buffet is on the club side so you need to pay extra for it but it leagues above the flavors restaurant. Need to point out one individual that was a star among the staff around the pools. On the adult side we had a gentleman by the name Jose. This guy was the best employee they had there for my whole stay. He did more for our group of 40+ people that was there for a wedding, then all of our butlers combined. Very kind, and ensure the whole group had everything they needed. Continual checking in with our group. This should be recognized because he was a top contributor for our trip being as good as it was around the pools and during the day. Beach Best beach I have ever been to in Mexico - Daily cleaning if the seaweed, white sand, great laydown beds. The beach is a big reason I have reviewed this resort the way I did. Overall I had a great stay at this resort. I would recommend this resort for couples that don't mind having mediocre food with great rooms and a beach that is pristine.
