    I felt like a Princess

I felt like a Princess the moment I entered the hotel until my husband and I left. I can’t say enough good things about our butlers, Armando, Julio, our maids Jennifer and Mayra, the far back omelette chef at the buffet, and fun servers, they were all happy and helpful souls. The food from each restaurant was amazing and the service prompt and friendly. Each restaurant has vegan options. They were accommodating and even brought us cotton for our ears when we became sensitive to sound. At the beach we were approached by a pushy person and the staff member was quick to help and get security. They were professional and gave us tips on how to prevent another situation like it. The entire hotel is well cared for, furnished and high end. The show we got to see, showing their cultural dances, was entertaining, fun and we could see how much fun the staff had putting it together. I think they all enjoyed working there and that made a world of a difference. There are lots of activities and attractions on the hotel ground, there is no need to leave the grounds. There are the wetlands, orchard garden, bird viewing area, and so much more. They would even drive you around if needed. Of course the beach was breath taking. The excursions that purchased from them also had guides that were as attentive to detail and provided the care we saw at the hotel. Again they made sure we were not unreasonable bothered and would help us get away from bothersome people. Although we went during the end or raining season, it rained at night and the rain showers were quick, did not ruin our trip at all. I can’t say enough good things. I have been to other resorts in other countries and this one is by far the best one I have been to. If I had any negative thing to say is that smoking is allowed ( and I am reaching far for this). They have a cigar store where people can sit and smoke, buy cigars. It’s part of their service and although we don’t smoke it hardly bothered us. The ducks can get loud and noisy but they are wildlife. They have a resident cat, who does not have a name. If you are particular about your toiletries( shampoo, conditioner, lotion) bring your own. Toothpaste is not provided but mouthwash is. Highly recommend this resort.

    Highly recommend!

Highly Recommended! I had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel and would definitely recommend it to others! The grounds are absolutely immaculate, with stunning landscaping that makes a strong first impression. The lobby and overall property are gorgeous, and the attention to detail is clear throughout. The food was another highlight. As a foodie, I can be picky, but I was blown away by the quality and taste of every meal. Whether you’re enjoying the buffet or dining at the restaurants, there’s something for everyone, and everything is prepared with such care and flavor. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The entire property is well-maintained and spotlessly clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The beach was beautiful, and we loved spending time in the water. Just a heads-up: there are sand fleas, so be sure to bring some bug spray—my daughter got quite a few bites and ended up looking like she had chicken pox! But what really made our stay unforgettable was the staff. The heart and soul of this hotel is the people. Everyone is genuinely kind, always with a smile, and they go out of their way to make you feel special. They even remember your name and do everything they can to ensure you have a fantastic experience. Special shout-outs to Ana, Yari, Samuel, Rafael, Brandon (the bartender), Yaritza, Ramona, Nelson, Lorraine, Jasiel, Kelsy, Ambiorix, and Bell Man Willnett. The entertainers were also a lot of fun, especially Chema, who really brought the energy! Overall, this place is stunning, and I can't wait to return. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and fun getaway with amazing service, this is the place!

    Amazing week at JOIA Bavaro

We had a beautiful week at the JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar. We had fantastic service all around from the La Perla and Bella Vista buffets and the a la carte , the only exception that I would point out was the service at the Japanese restaurant was not up to the standards of the other restaurants. One of the couples that we had dinner with left before desert was served as it seemed they forgot about us. I had the deep fried ice cream, and when it was served, it was obvious that it had been sitting for quite some time. I don’t think that the animation staff get enough recognition, they are truly stars. They work very long days and are absolutely amazing people. We leave with very good memories and I just want to mention some of the entertainment team that made our trip so enjoyable: Yeli, Rio, Smile, Chocolate, Chema and Ruth - thank you all, until next time. The lobby bar staff are also so attentive, we enjoyed going there before dinner for a drink and would return after the shows in the evening. Brandor who was splitting his time between El Mirador and the Robusto cigar lounge is simply amazing. We were so happy to hear that he was back to the resort. This is our fourth time staying at this property and we will definitely be back and would highly recommend this resort.
