Reunion
I visited this resort for a university class reunion the last week of November. There were 19 of us in the group. We were all treated very well, thanks Mirina our breakfast host. The staff were all very kind to us, the waiters, housekeepers and other staff. Our room was a bit on the older side, but was quiet and sufficiently cool. I understand some of us had renovated rooms. The beach was really exceptional, the entry into the ocean is shallow and not much wave action the whole week. We could walk to Playa del Carmen easily, although it does heat up quickly in the morning. The beach lounger could use some repairing and there seemed to always be completion for the sturdy ones. The Sports Bar was available for us for a memorial get together and a performance by some alumni. They were very kind and understanding. Thanks everyone!

Buffet was superb
The Iberostar Quetzal buffet gala dinner was incredible! A huge variety of options: fresh seafood, authentic Mexican dishes, delicious desserts, cakes, and ice cream. Plus, a full bar with wines and other beverages to pair perfectly with the meal. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and well-presented. Truly a fantastic dining experience—highly recommended!

BEST TRIP EVER!
My husband and I have travelled to the Caribbean from Canada for many years and love the Mayan Riviera. It was our first time staying at the Iberostar Hotels and I can honestly say It Was the BEST TRIP EVER! We stayed on the Quetzal side and had friends come from Mexico City staying on the Tucan side. The food was delicious in all of the Buffett's and Restaurants. The walk through the jungle each day was beautiful! The flamingo's, monkeys, peacocks and other local animals greeted us on our walks to the Ocean. The nightly entertainment was amazing and the staff always available to assist with any query you may have. We met some lovely couples and the front desk even assisted us in renting a mobile scooter for our friend to take the trek to Cozumel! We were able to use our gift certificate from the presentation we went to on our first day to pay for the scooter too. We stayed at one hotel and were able to use all of the facilities in the other! It was amazing. NEVER waited in a line for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and the variety of food was unbelievable!!! The only negative thing I would say is there are no bath tubs in the rooms, but the showers we fabulous and we never ran out of hot water! Our maid was so sweet always leaving beautiful flowers on our bed with different animals made from the towels. No smoking in the rooms, the resort, or on the beach, but there were 5 smoking areas in the resort away from the pathways which was very nice for the non smokers. The atmosphere is so friendly and everyone stops to chat. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the resort is spotless. If you want a relaxing vacation please visit this resort! You won't be disappointed! We are travelling to the Iberostar Jamaica next as we were very impressed with the Hotel in Mexico! Thank you for a very memorable trip! We will be back!

Wedding Review
My wife and I got married at the Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan recently and had an excellent experience overall! Nayeli and Berenice were our wedding coordinators and were extremely helpful in ensuring all the details of our day were organized accordingly starting months in advance. We had never stayed at this resort prior to our wedding, but couldn’t be happier with the location and amenities. The only complaint we had through the whole process was that our wedding contract stated wedding guests had to stay a minimum of three nights at the hotel, but when some tried to book online for that week the website was requiring a minimum of 4 nights. We were told guests had to call the hotel directly to bypass this, but several family members were told this option wasn’t available…but called back again a different day and the 3 night request was accepted. It just felt like there could have been better communication between these Iberostar teams. That was just one minor inconvenience we were able to overcome. We loved the hotel, animals, and restaurants and definitely recommend to anyone considering!!!

Great Family Vacation
We had a wonderful experience at Iberostar Quetzal. The entire staff at the resort were welcoming and very pleasant. Our room balcony was frequented by wildlife, and often saw monkeys roaming through the trees. The beach and water were amazing!! Our first day there was a bit of murk in the first few feet from seaweed. Each day the water got clearer, and was always clear after about 10 feet in, but or later days the entire beach was pristine. The sand was very soft. The resort pools were spacious, and you never felt like you were on top of anyone else. There was also an adult only pool, and a secluded pool that was a few degrees cooler in the shade. The food selection and variety was a plus. Nearly everything we had was delicious, from the buffets to the themed restaurants. We liked how the buffet changed items daily, but also had a variety of the same staples everyday. Drinks were good, and the bartenders got a kick out making the many virgin drinks my son drank on the trip. We loved strolling the jungle area, especially at night, and enjoying all the waterfalls, nooks, and jungle wildlife. All in all, I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. I would love to visit this resort again!
