  Not Perfect, but close!

  My husband and I went to Iberostar Waves Punta Cana for 6 days. Overall we had a great time. There is the Iberostar Waves Punta Cana and Dominicana, there on the same grounds and you can go to both. It really felt just like on resort though. PROS: -Close to the airport approx. 30 mins -Perfect size resort your not walking forever but you also don't feel crowded, perfect size -Drinks were great, never waiting longer than 2 mins maybe -Staff friendly -Beach was wavy but still swimmable -Room was great, no complaints (we had an ocean view room) CONS: -Going to Dominican, I was expecting the food to be a little better than most places in the south but it was absolutely horrible. I am not a picky eater and neither is my husband but the food was ALWAYS cold, unless you picked up something fresh off the grill. But the food is not good...No one got sick but that's probably because we stayed away from most things. I think there was about 5 a La carte restaurants and you only needed to make reservations for the French Restaurant. The rest you could just show up. 2 Buffets. 1 Snack bar. Lunch you had the snack bar, buffet, and the other restaurant on the Dominicana side. -Beach chairs, better wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve them even though there are signs saying you can't do that -No swim up pool bar?? I just assumed every resort had one but this one didn't. Defiantly missing. -This isn't a adults only club so lots of kids around, not to much happening at the pools during the day. As a younger couple we were looking for some more entertainment during the day. Hope this helps travellers heading down to Punta Cana!

  DON'T STAY HERE - THIEVES WORK HERE - MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE

  If you want to be taken for a ride with your money, stay here. We stayed here from 2/14/25-2/19/25 and let me tell you the staff here do not give a crap about customer services. For a family of 6, they left 4 towels daily. Toilet paper is rationed or something - I requested toilet paper and it was like an act of God - 7 calls later, I got it. Problems with the in room safe 4x had to call security to open it - but later we found out we had a thief coming in our room taking money out of our wallets that were locked in the safe. When we called management and security - they brought the whole cavalry like it was the crime of the century and made us, the victims, out to be the suspects and a bunch of liars. They interrogated us about how much cash we brought, and where we went, and what we spent it on - then questioned us about it not being missing and wanted to search our belongings and room. After denying them to search our belongings (wife's underwear, daughters underwear - you get where I'm going with this), they would not look into who used their key to enter our room - stating we did not want to follow the procedures. Dont' get me started on the lack of care for their guests. They tried to sell us on watching a 90 minute presentation/tour for their timeshare program (what a JOKE) (so we could get free snorkel trip) - this was over 3 hours and some arrogant sales closer comes in after doing the tour and tells you how great he is, how many sales he makes, etc and pressures you into signing until you finally after the 10th time and exhausted, get pissed off and tell them NO!!!!! - then they barely give you your snorkel trip vouchers because you didn't sign up. The people that were signing up, they were popping champagne and everybody claps. Food at the french restaurant, and italian restaurant were good - Don't go to the smokehouse - they give you a family style plate of garbage - meat with bones and french fries. The buffets are okay, asian restaurant is okay. Rooms were nice - but 1 bathroom for a suite - another joke and they don't have fans for the shower so plan on steaming up your room. Beach was awesome - snack bar is limited with the same stuff everyday - pizza, fries, burgers, fruit, ice cream. Overall - I would NEVER RECOMMEND TO STAY HERE. Management did not care to remedy the room/safe burglary and did not apologize. Staff act like you are on their time, not your time - they don't operate with a purpose, very slow and can't stay focused - often talking in spanish to their coworkers and stopping what they were doing for you until their attention is refocused on the task.

  Best vacation ever

  Amazing resort!!!! Food is very good lots to choose from. Beautiful rooms and our cleaning lady Ruth R. is amazing. Ruben and Steven took care of all our needs and wants the first day. The beach is gorgeous and chair are always available Thank you all for 2 weeks of a beautiful vacation. We will return.

  Highly recommend!

  Highly recommend! Excellent resort. Iberostar Waves PC does not disappoint. Beautiful, clean, good food, good service and friendly personnel. Good variety of entertainment at pool and in evening. This hotel is also committed to environmental sustainability. We are going back!!

  Sadly, I cannot recommend Iberostar Waves Punta Cana

  Sorry to say, we did not have a good experience. We have been to Iberstar in Cozemel, Rivera Maya and Cancun. We had a good time at all of these locations. Waves Punta Cana is not worth booking. I have limited spanish, but out of our 10 vacations/cruises to the carribean I always manage to communicate and found a way to get my question answered. Another review mentioned the staffs rudeness. That is an understatement. If you don't speak Spanish fluently they actually look you in the eye, nod, turn around and walk off never to be seen again. Or when you try to order a drink at the bar, they will look past you and help several other people before acknowledging you. They really are disgusted if you are not fluent in spanish. The pools were dirty and cloudy. The food was not as good as drive through. On the plus side, the spa was wonderful and services were very good. BTW, even though it is an all exclusive establishment we tip. Even that did not get a response. So sad.
