    Fabulous Vacation!!!!

We loved the hotel, the staff was phenomenal! Monse was the sweetest and a lady of many things. My daughter loved her! The food on the buffet got a little routine by the end but it was usually good. Sometimes the buffet didn’t have fresh foods if we came at the later part of the operating times but we never couldn’t find something to eat. The restaurants were delicious. I liked you didn’t have to make reservations as it was first come first serve. We were a little disappointed that we had to get a 2nd room since we had 2 kids when they could share a bed and my husband and I could have a bed. The entire staff from wonderful, from arrival to leaving and in between was great. Snack bar was my kids favorite! Pepe the parrot was fun to see in the lobby. The jungle atmosphere was something I’ve never experienced in the trips I’ve take elsewhere. The rooms were super clean and housekeeping kept it that way the entire time. Overall a fantastic trip!!!

    Great Experience

What an amazing experience my husband and I had. First time in Cozumel and first time at a Iberostar. The food was fabulous. I had a medical emergency having Type 1 diabetes and the staff jumped right in and got me everything I needed( Thank you Alejandra). I was sent a bottle of Champagne because it was my birthday. They have a Tattoo artist right on site and I LOVE my tattoo. The rooms are a little smaller than we were expecting, but the bed was comfortable and we weren’t in our room other than to sleep

Grossly overrated - not worth half of what we paid - room was a DUMP!

We stayed for 7 nights and 8 days at Iberostar Cozumel in December 2024 through New Year’s. I booked a suite, which is not much of a suite – it’s a small room with a rustic looking futon that kind of folds into a bed and a separate bedroom and closet (one bathroom). The room was disgusting, and we paid $8k for it. I will state that we booked it late, so we had few options for a family friendly hotel; I relied on Trip Advisor to choose it – bad move. We left and went to another property when we checked out for an extra three days and had a far superior room at an all-inclusive hotel for a lot less money (the food was awesome too). So, what were the issues? First, the room was a DUMP. I will let you look at the pictures and judge for yourself. I am an in the casino/hotel business and cannot believe that we stayed in this room at the price point we paid. Our room needed to be gutted and renovated. And there was zero insulation between rooms, so we heard the young women who partied all night upstairs stomp around until about 2AM each day. My 11-year-old daughter complained incessantly about the noise from above. Next, the room’s advertised stocked mini bar was a joke. Each day, the maid would put one sparking water in it along with one coke, one sprite, one diet coke, and two beers. I called the front desk our first evening and asked for some extra sparkling waters and was told I would have to pay for those. Unbelievable. No snacks were offered at all. The restaurants were awful. The best one we found was the Asian cuisine. It was B-, but we made do. The breakfast buffet was the best meal of the day. We started going into town by the fourth day to eat. Now, the property itself is okay. I will state that it is maintained, and the staff is friendly. They really try to be hospitable and entertain the guests (there is a good rock and roll show they do at night). The few bars were also good, but I tipped handsomely to ensure we got attentive service. Note too, people show up on property from cruise ships, so some days it was really crowded at the one pool. BTW, you cannot swim after 6-7PM because the pool closes, which was also dumb (my daughter was crushed when we arrived the first day and went to the pool at 6:30PM and she was told to get out because it was closed). Also, the on-site hotel night manager less than helpful. At one point they left a note on our door saying they would be taking over our room the next day for 3-4 hours for routine AC maintenance. When I went to talk to the front desk about it, this person came out and pretended the staff was asking if they could enter (no, they were telling us – read it yourself in the photos). I told him they could do their maintenance two days later when we left. That was that – nobody came in the room. There is no way I would stay at this resort for $8K for a week. I would say it was worth about $3K for the week, and I am being generous (I would never go back). And do not forget, you can expect a timeshare pitch too – we avoided that repeatedly. Each time we tried to book an activity we were pressured. We started avoiding anyone at the front of the property. Oh yes, this place is a long ride from town too, so if you want to be in the city, this is a bad location. We are going back to Cozumel in March, but we are staying at another all-inclusive hotel with nice rooms and superior food at a far better price than this property (the hotel we found when we left Iberostar and booked an extra three days). Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. I wish I had listened to my spouse and raised enough hell to leave on the first day and demand a full refund. We were so disappointed with this hotel that IHG will never see a dollar from me when I travel.

    Fantastic week at the Iberostar

We had a wonderful time at the Iberostar. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of the food. Fresh and delicious meals, something for everyone including gluten free options. Wonderful attentive service and staff that clearly enjoys working here. The setting was stunning in a lush green jungle and wildlife on the premises such as flamingos and Pepe the parrot. Ola Pepe! The rooms were fine with a small balcony and hammock. More of a jungle setting than ocean views on most of the rooms. Not a lot of windows or space but all you need including a mini-bar and an A/C. Nice TV options including HBO and sports coverage of the NFL playoffs. There were lots of activities including ping-pong, darts, archery, riffle shooting, pool games and Spanish lessons. The evening shows were fabulous with great singers and dancers, and the winners of the activities getting their moment in time. Gerardo and Humberto were doing fantastic hosting the activities and entertainment. Fun and kind people going the extra-mile for the guests. Loved the resort so much we did not leave it other than for diving and snorkeling trips. There is a dive shop on the premises (Dressel Divers) and there are a lot of folks staying in the resort to take advantage of the location close to the southern reefs. And even a morning snorkel at the hotel beach is a treat, lots to see including sea stars and schools of fish. It is not too deep and you can stand in the water which makes it suitable for kids and not as strong swimmers. I summary, the quality of the food (amazing all inclusive), the fun activities and the kind staff is what makes the Iberostar a great choice for every generation.

Wonderful week with a few glitches

Beautiful, lush resort with bright bungalows, almost paradise!!! Food was above what we have experienced elsewhere. This was our 3rd visit to Cozumel. Vibe was relaxing but lots to do if you wanted to. Snorkelling was a little disappointing, not much to see and with the stairs gone it was a challenge to get out to the deeper water. The new pier is coming along and looking good! BRING WATER SHOES!!! Staff were friendly and mostly accommodating. When booking our room we had upgraded (paid extra) to a pool view room, not what we got, there was no pool view at all and we missed out on a better location with those rooms. We told them on arrival but nothing was done. Overall a lovely week with some amazing sunsets Loved the fresh water glass bottles and not needing to make dinner reservations!!!
