Relaxing vacation
My husband and I stayed at Iberostar Playa Mita about a month ago. We had a nice experience. The food and service were great! Our concierge, Elsa, was amazing and helpful. The landscape was very well maintained. Our ocean front view from our room was beautiful. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable.

Hit & Miss with more missed marks
First have to say been to Puerto Vallarta numerous time from mid range & value to high end and with being in town alot again try outside the area, & yah, this place is far.. to far!! Maybe for more but you want to hit up the malacone its gonna cost ya alot, roughy 900$ pesos one way .. the Marina were we went was 800pesos one way.. The bus will take over hour & a half to get you there but lucky with air transant going home only us we were provided a taxi shuttle free... thats a bonus.. Staff was friendly some places i found but others not so talkitive. Rooms we upgraded to ocean front but not really worth the extra, view was limited and only a table a 2 chairs, some had hammocks but top floor there had junkie chairs.. shower had only a sheet of glass between the sink & toilet that made it wet and slippery after shower, we had not ub but seen a open door with one in it Room service was good and early stocked drinks, but the bad thing i think was they had a zero carbon footprint on plastic and refillable glass jugs were given out... hard to bring anywere if going for a walk on beach and can break dropping them, i have to suspect the water stations be cleaned wtih everyone touching them. Food was good a buffet for breakfeat & dinner but the lunch buffet lacked vegatarian options, the mexican a la carte was the best we thought with the staekhousee underperforming, waiter passed by my wife alot to refill her wine which she was mad and i seen it as well, maybe not his night but he was bad, could not go to the french since its small and its a first come first serve policy, did not try the asain either to many people not enough space,. The beach was good but rocky in spots and the water was cold and unswimmable in the morning due to waves but around lunch was able to go Hotel was clean and scored the best for me on that but service needs more practice, for me not a deal breaker but my wife she;s the boss and not to her likeing , was hard sometimes for food there option wise The bar staff everywhere was very good if not the best, they got your drinks rights and remembered most, pool bar and roof top bar excellent and the views with whale season right now you see them everyday all day sometimes jumping and swimming sometimes as close as 150 fett from the beach Over all this is a good hotel with some good and bad points, would i go there again, maybe if i got it for a better price,, get this under 2000$ and worth it, family with small kids would like this better than others for sure with play park and activties all day for them.. overall it would be a 4 outta 5 for me

Not a 5 star Resort
We visited the resort the 1st week in January for New Years. We had kids ages 13yo-23yo. There was a drowning day 1(January 1st) and I was the only one who knew how to bring the victim in from the Ocean. There was no flotation device around the beach area to help us. I was also the only one who knew CPR for quite awhile. I worked on the individual while my family witnessed all of this and it took the resort/medical over 30 minutes to get there and help. The resort didn't acknowledge anything at all to us. While I understand this comes with the beach, it was very disappointing that no flotation device, lifeguard or anyone who had any acknowledgement of medical care was around a "5 star resort". The victim did pass away while we worked on him and the late afternoon and next days moving forward the resort finally had lifeguards and flotation devices. Sadly this does not fix what we had to witness and go through. This resort also had nothing that was teenager/young adult friendly, unless you like sports. Everything they had going on was for age 12yo and younger or a sports activity. Everything they had online for activities was a cost or no longer available. The pools were very very cold, miserable cold, which in turn made the 1 swim up bar they had not accessible and no fun. The hallways and stairs were not cleaned once, while we were there. There was broken glass in so many areas through the hallways and no matter how much we asked to have it cleaned up, they never did it. I ended up with glass in my flip flops many times. Very unsanitary and dangerous for cuts/infections. Made service for the rooms were great! We love to travel to Mexico every other year and I don't think we will ever return to this resort.

Nice resort, good experience for group of 20, ages 14-45
First off, this resort is probably a good hour's drive from the airport. The rooms are not in the best shape but we spend very little time in the room anyway so we can overlook that. Housekeeping was on top of things and our room was always quickly and nicely cleaned. The bed was also very comfortable! We were hoping for 2 doubles in each of our 2 rooms, but ended up with a king in each, the teens weren't so happy about sharing. The beach is rocky and the rocks just increased as the week went on, to the point there was not much of a beach at all. We could walk in both directions which we liked, but there was not much place to lay out on the beach or throw a ball around for the kids. It was a red flag the whole week but we did venture into the ocean very cautiously a few times, just very big waves but nice sand where there was sand. There was a "sports" pool next to the larger pool with a swim-up bar. The sports pool is where we spent the majority of the time and the real winner of the whole trip. We were a group of 20 and the group loved playing pool volleyball, basketball, and whatever other pool games came up. We easily found chairs every day, by the pool or in the shade, no issues with saving chairs. Drinks at the resort were okay, nothing spectacular but not terrible either. The rooftop bar was fun to go to and had good drinks, the lobby bar was a good meeting point for our group at night, and the pool bar kept us going with drinks and the ice cream cones in the afternoons! The food was better than some resorts we've had but also not the best. The buffet was good. We liked not having to try and rush to schedule reservations for the week as soon as we got there, except for the Japanese which was reservations and we enjoyed it. Would we go back to this resort? Probably not, but only because of the hour-long drive from the airport and the beach was lacking. However, our group's main request is to find another pool like this resort had!

A paradise you're never ready to leave!!
I had an incredible stay at Iberostar Selection Playa Mita and can’t recommend it enough! The resort is absolutely stunning, with beautiful grounds, well-maintained facilities, and breathtaking views - with a sunset you never want to miss. The food selection is vast and delicious, offering a wide range of options to suit all tastes—from fresh seafood to international cuisine. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The location is also perfect—secluded enough for relaxation but close enough to local attractions. I had an oceanfront room which was absolutely unreal. Considering I went on a solocation, I felt completely safe and well taken care of during my stay. If you’re looking for a top-notch all-inclusive experience, this is the place to be! It was my first all-inclusive experience, but won't be my last :)
