Great Experience! Would recommend 100%
This is a real upgrade. It is Punta Cana at its best. Better drinks, better service, excellent location. But the most important: EXCELLENT FOOD. The guests were all very kind people too. Just great. Important: The beach beds and beach area in general is the most valuable thing. 10/10

Not worth it at all. Don't come here.
The best thing about this place is the coffee. The rooms are ok. The food is possibly the worst I've ever had anywhere. The buffets sucked, the restaurants that are made to order are absolutely atrocious. The resort itself is nice. Don't waste your money. Go to mexico instead.

Beautiful Resort and Beach
We just returned from a 5-night stay at the Iberostar Selection Coral Level Bavaro. We stayed in Room 2406 which for us, was the ideal location. Situated at the end of the Coral Suites near the beach, Mexican and Italian restaurants, and the pool at the Selections Suites, which lead right to main street. The main buffet and Star Café (our favorite) at the Selection area was less than a 5-minute walk. The room provided the essentials for a comfortable stay. Nothing over the top but time spent in the room was limited while on vacation. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. Our housemaid, Margarita was so friendly and kind. She did a wonderful job keeping our rooms clean. The Star Prestige beach club was where we spent most of our time, Jose deserves a ton of recognition for his excellent service and hard work. He always ensured our beds were ready and our drinks full. His English was also some of the best from the staff we interacted with. The beach itself is beautiful and goes on for miles. A few days the weather was windy which led to rougher waves but that is beyond the resorts control. Coming into this vacation we were curious if the Coral level was worth the additional cost? Our answer is yes! However, this is partially due to our personalities. We are not big party people and preferred the quietness of the infinity pool at the Coral level. We also appreciated the small buffet areas and specialty restaurants at the coral level. Being a couple, the expense was warranted however, when we return with our family of 5, the additional cost for the coral may be too much to justify. Lastly, the entire staff at the coral buffet and restaurants deserve recognition for their hard work. People like Akeny, Olga and Piron (sorry if I misspelt name) were always so friendly and attentive to all our dining experiences.

Not a 5 star experience
We stayed here for 10 days in September 2024 and whilst the hotel grounds, rooms and pool are beautiful, there are some issues with the ‘Coral Level’ that is a premium level. The good The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well presented, clearly there is effort here in landscaping and looking after the area. There are two pools available for ‘Coral Level’ guests, an infinity pool which is almost on the beach and a much quieter pool, more in the middle of the coral level area. Both pools are clean, well maintained and perfect temperature. The infinity pool has a limited number of loungers, although there was usually some spare and the loungers are comfortable and cushioned. You can use the other pools available at the other levels of the hotel, expect for the Grand. There is a bar right by the infinity pool and also a waiter service (more on this later) and there is a mobile bar available at the quieter pool, which is open the majority of the day. The infinity pool is only about 20 seconds walk to the sea, there is an issue with seaweed but this was removed every day with only some small amount left and obviously out of the control of the hotel. The room is clean, comfortable and modern looking. There is a fairly large flat screen TV which you can connect to Netflix, Disney+ etc from your phone and also swivels so you can watch TV in bed. There is a sofa, which also turns into a bed and a fridge with some small drinks and some coffee making facilities. The WiFi at the resort it excellent and coverage is at all areas of the resort and fast! Could be better The in room mini bar, was only replenished once or twice during our 10 night stay, so we had to ring and request once or twice and a member of the hotel team, delivered some. The app needs some work as some of the features do not work correctly or are ignored. The facility to order drinks and snacks by the infinity pool was not working for the majority of our 10 night stay. When it did become working, the incorrect drink was delivered to us. So it was easier to get up and order at the bar. The waiters delivering drinks to us around the infinity pool were friendly and efficient. We had issues with a light on our balcony and reported this but this was never fixed or addressed by the hotel. We ordered room service twice and whilst this is a good option to have at no extra cost, both times half the already small menu was not available. Please be aware that as this resort is huge and you cannot leave unless via taxi, if you need any items such as sun cream, the hotel shop is very expensive, expect to pay at least $22 for a standard size sun cream! Not good When checking in and after 12 hours of travelling we spend around 30 minutes checking in at the ‘Coral Level’ reception as we were being pressured into upgrading and paying $600 extra. When we declined the offer and said we were happy for the room we booked with, we were told that our room would not be ready until 8pm (check in is suppose to be from 4pm) and if we wanted a room now, we would need to upgrade and pay the $600. I said once more that I was not interested and my room should be ready as it is passed the check in time and I want the room I booked and paid for and magically, our room was now ready! This did not leave a good first impression. First night continued with a bad start at the Mexican Al a carte restaurant. I ordered a vegan mushroom dish and when i bit into this, it was BEEF! I tried many ways to explain this to the staff, but the complete lack of English from the 3 members of staff meant they did not understand what the issue was of serving meat to a guest who ordered a vegan dish. There are no diet drinks available at the hotel, not even in the shop, not good for diabetics or anyone with a health concern with sugar. When you order diet cola at some bars, they will give you something and take your glass to a room out the back and come out with the drink, I’m not entirely sure what they were doing but we suspected watering down full sugar cola, but we cannot be sure. Some staff were friendly but I have to admit that at least 50% were not friendly or welcoming and did not look happy to be at work. This did not feel like a ‘5 star’ experience. Overall When you label yourself as 5 star and an extra layer in this ‘Coral level’, you expect an elevated experience, unfortunately there are quite a few issues which leave me with not wanting to return this resort.
