    Would definitely return!

We loved this resort. Beach is powdery sand. Food was good, drinks yummy and not watered down. Room was very nice. Bed and pillows were amazing. This is not a new resort so it’s showing some signs of wear and tear, but it is still beautiful! Pool water was perfect temperature-not cold and not hot. Palapas for shade on the beach are challenging to get sometimes and it would be great if there were more. Service is top notch.

    Hyatt Zilara very nice

My wife and I spent 8 days at the new(ish) Hyatt Zilara Rivera Maya. The new construction upgrades were done very well. Overall, a nice improvement over the tired Secrets Capri. We had a great time. The Food was good, friendly staff. I certainly would go back at this price point. Not comparing this resort to anything else under the Hyatt umbrella, I don't believe you can go wrong. The issue is if you compare. We are UVC members at a modest level. Hyatt needs to be consistent along all brands. The level of Service at a Secrets is far better than that of Zilara. No preferred amenities. Nothing to separate the people that spent thousands on the UVC membership. You can say "welcome home", but you need to make people feel that they are "home". Vast improvement. UVC reps now double as personal concierge. UVC rep Franco saw to our every need and checked in regularly. He reviewed our membership and coordinated our upgrade meeting. This is the first time that we received honesty from a UVC rep. Noticeable difference. Hyatt seems to be putting an end to the high-pressure sales push and respecting customer input. One restaurant note. Enrique in the Asian restaurant did treat us like kings. He served us twice, superb. Hugs and pictures on the way out. There were just not enough Enriques at this resort. This nice resort will only get better and better, I'm sure.

Small but still a lot of fun!

Let's start off by saying that if you enjoy peace and quiet and the exclusivity of a small resort, this is a place for you. Staff: The staff was so helpful and excited to have us here. The check-in took a little bit of time, but it wasn't an issue. We were given a chance to see the other two Secrets resorts close by but we declined. I think a few people thought this was a time share presentation. I can't say if that was true or not, but we were not pressured to go once we said No. Noe at the pool bar was the best bartender we had. All the staff at meals were lovely and accommodating. Meals: Every meal was good. There's nothing crazy over the top except for the sushi. Tempest sushi bar is a must. We didn't get a chance to go to the teppanyaki portion of Tempest, but we were told it was pretty good. Capri Grill was the Italian place. It had small plate meals and small portions, which didn't leave you overly stuffed. The buffet for breakfast was a staple. They rotated a crepe/waffle bar and a homemade tortilla station, which was a highlight. The lady making omelets/eggs to order was fantastic, and I'm taking her skills home with me! The Lola Beach snack bar was perfect for a quick lunch bite. The hotdog was the best! The Lola burger wasn't really good and the shrimp cocktail tasted like watered down ketchup. The Lola Beach restaurant was great! Such a good menu. The sports bar also had a buffet as well, and everything was pretty good. There's no shortage of food here! Reading other reviews, I was worried before we came, but I had nothing to worry about. Rooms: We were upgraded to an ocean view room from our standard and was so grateful that we got it! Our room was minimalist, and we enjoyed that since we came there to be outside most of the time. Great amenities for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They had a few shows on TV in English if you wanted to watch something but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Atmosphere: the pool can get a bit rowdy and there's so many activites surrounding the pool, that it was hard to find a lounge chair. People were saving chairs, which, I don't think you were supposed to do. There's a pool table, a ping pong table in the lower lobby and arcade games and darts in the sports bar so there's plenty to entertain yourself if you need to be inside due to weather.

    Better when it was Secrets

First the employees are top notch and the pool is great but the food is nowhere to be found. I’ve never stayed at a resort that had the buffet closed most lunches and dinners . The. Resort had only 3 restaurants open at dinner which isn’t adequate for the amount of guests.

    Great birthday celebration with friends.

Very nice resort and great beach. Service was really good. Rooms were really nice. Not a huge resort so not a lot of options, but for the size, it was great. There were four large groups of ladies when our group was there so it was a lot of fun. Thank you to Nelson, Sandra, and Dulce for awesome service.
