Hotel more like motel
How is this a Hilton stay? I’m confused. The staff were not warm or welcoming. The halls and rooms were dark and MUSTY (I’m not joking it felt like a bad sauna). The bedding was rough and not comforting (sandpaper like). And the night before we leave we have to spend three hours doing our laundry because the washing machines provided by Hilton would fill up with water and not wash (it did this several times). The dryer was very poor and it took well over an hour for our clothes to become damp enough to hang. On top of all this the resort fees and parking make this place overpriced and expensive for a bad motel stay with a fancy name.

Pool and Hot Tub were Cold!!!
Do not stay at this property unless you like a cold pool and hot tub! We booked a day use room at this hotel on our last day in Kauai. We booked it primarily to use the pool and hot tub. Both were cold!!! We let the front desk know and they notified maintenance who informed us it would be fixed within 30 minutes. We checked back periodically throughout the day and the hot tub was never heated. I do not think a hotel should offer day use rooms if their pool services are not good quality, including a heated pool and hot tub. Very disappointing!

Time for a refresh or lower your rates.
On the old and run down side. The whole property is situated further from the beach. Still close but not viewable. We stayed in a bungalow, so ground level. They are side by side and have close parking. Didn't like the moist motel like air conditioning units and the bungalow just felt dated, dirty and mildew-y. Resort was aged and awkwardly spread out, but quiet and peaceful. Pools were small, but the beach is wonderful with wave breakers. Fast 10 minute drive to Lihue.

Best beach on Kauai with best Kauai hula & lei instructor Kiana
God lives in Kauai!!! Hilton Kauai is home away from home on this garden isle. Disappointed in limited renno that would uplift look and feel. More importantly, best thing is the weekly hula and lei making peace out ✌🏾 events!! Free from local Hawaiin princess Kiana instructor extraordinaire!!! It’s about learning the Kauai culture which is different from rest of the Hawaiian islands 🌺. It’s disappointing that the hula is only 1 time vs 2 times like it used to be. Kiana is the main reason I come back. She will give you an amazing understanding of the culture through her skills! The rest of the staff can be a lot more helpful and polite. The cleaning staff are the best of the crew here. As a Hilton Honours member it would be great if this location honoured the free breakfast which isn’t included. The Lydgate beach 🏝️ right on the property is the best beach on the island. Lovely add for the beach tiki bar. Additional 🔥 fireplace seats would be great.

Nope.
The staff were all wonderful. They should be complimented!! The property needs to be totally rebuilt from the ground up. It's so old and tired and the redone bathrooms just isn't enough. Dark musty hallways lead you to dark musty rooms. Patio doors can't be opened. Coffee in the lobby is whisked away precisely at 10 AM. Pools (yes there are 2 very small very old) have just a few chairs but a couple of couch sets which seems odd. The grounds are nice around the lobby but around the buildings sad grass does not invite you to hang around at all. The park land at the ocean is very busy and includes a lot of old hippies camping out. At 9:15, the maids were knocking incessantly on the door wanting to clean. When we refused they made us commit to being gone in 60 minutes. What? Breakfast was good but closed at 10 am precisely. It is closed most days except for special dinners Tues and Fri. Except not this Friday, just Tuesday...The poolside restaurant has good Hawaiian food but limited menu. Nice live music. You need a car. The hotel is positioned alone on the wrong side of the bridge to town which doesn't allow pedestrians. So you have to UBER it to get anywhere, to anything. Keep looking rather than booking this one. We wish we had. Let me say again, Bree and the other people on the front desk were outstanding!
