Better than expected (after reading so many reviews) and the island is absolutely incredible. The ocean, pools and most of the staff were phenomenal as well. We loved having the preferred rooms and option to make our own cocktails when the bars were busy. Our kids loved it all- even the kids club. The food was as expected for an all-inclusive. The kids gave it 10 stars, and we, the adults had some great meals and some decent "cruise ship" type meals as well. Curacao has the kindest people and the most beautiful beaches. We stayed in a home on the west side for the first part of the trip and the resort to finish up our travels- and it gave us the best perspective and love for the country. Rent a car and go out and see all it has to offer.

The views of the sea look better every day we look at it. The drinks were amazing at this all inclusive hotel. The hotel was not crowded at all that was a plus. The beach was not rocky, out of all the beach we explored in the country they had the best so far.

Great Hotel for the Price... and great Location!
When I arrived to this hotel, due to a not-expecting change because of my Travel Agent, i was kind of scared because of the comments that i read, but actually my stay was really pleasant, loved the lobby, the pool was really clean, they have an app with all of the information, and the staff was really nice. Although the beach area is really small, is really great and with clear water, and one thing that i loved was the Explorer´s Club for the children, and the Coco Cafe where you can get really good Ice Cream and Snacks for the day..! The only thing that i would improve is the dinner food, is not the best food that you will eat, except for 2 or 3 plates (the NY Steak in the Restaurant near the Pool was awesome, and the Pizza in the Italian restaurant was also really great). The Ceviche in Ocean Grill was awful, and the rissotto is the worst i have tasted! This is the only reason that i´m giving 4 instead of 5 stars! For the price, you will have such a great time!!!!

Great beach, pool and overall service. Hotel is run down but clean. Food and drink is very average max for 3 star hotel. Stayed and 8 other dreams and whilst the island and location is great, the quality of food and overall resort is not up to other dreams standard.

il mare will see us again!
Bed with an ocean view is the most relaxing atmosphere you can get. Add a walk-out that leads directly to the beach with beach side service and that is what you get with il mare. Friendly attentive staff that make sure you don’t lift a finger. Although you are next door to many other couples you are still in a separate pod that makes it feel more personal and secluded.
