  Great Resort!

  Overall great stay! Beautiful grounds, great variety with tasty food at the buffets and very kind, attentive staff. The little touches such as the coffee shop with ice cream, coffee and sandwich offerings all day to the nightly entertainment were appreciated. The staff always greets you and are willing to help as they can. Please tip these well deserved hard working employees. Shout out to the amazing Hilda in guest services and Juan at the breakfast buffet! Can’t wait to come back.

  Disappointed with this Royalton

  I've been to many royaltons and can say that this royalton did not meet my expectations. We purchased diamond club because we had a baby and a no frills vacation but that's not what we got. Check in was 2 hours, wrong room with double beds, no crib, poor repsponse time by staff including 2 days to try an arrange a new room with a king size bed where they ignored us, everything was an upsell even the cabanas around the pool, Mexico is full taxes, the beach wasn't cleaned well, the food was substandard at the restaurant. The Taj restaurant was amazingly good. There were some great things here but overall I was very disappointed in royalton Mexico! So sad

  Náutica bar is amazing Diego one of the bests bartenders and Arturo best bartenders out here taking care of everyone one like a champ come out here and these guys gonna make sure you have the best the vacation ever in my opinion one best ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅

  A Memorable Family Vacation at Royalton Riviera Cancun!

  We stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun from April 8th to April 15th as a family of four, and I have to say, this trip completely exceeded my expectations. I was initially quite hesitant about booking this resort, not knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be a fantastic experience from beginning to end. We arrived Tuesday evening and had our first dinner at Gourmet Marche, the resort’s buffet. There were plenty of vegetarian and seafood options, which was a great start for our dietary preferences. The variety and quality were impressive. The next evening, we had a reservation at Zen Teppanyaki. The show was fun, and the chef, Jesus, was incredibly attentive to our dietary restrictions. We don’t eat beef or chicken, so he was very careful to prepare our salmon and fried rice separately to avoid any cross-contamination. It was great to see that level of consideration. Thursday’s dinner at Hunter Steakhouse was another highlight. My husband had the salmon steak, my son enjoyed the catch of the day (mahi mahi), and our daughter had the plant-based steak burger. We met Renata, the Culinary Concierge, during this meal, and she was truly a gem throughout our stay. We mentioned it would be nice to see halal options available for Muslim guests. To our surprise and delight, she took this request seriously and said she would speak to the General Manager. From the very next day, Renata went above and beyond. She arranged halal lamb for us, which was prepared at Taj. The halal lamb vindaloo was absolutely delicious. On Sunday, she organized a special dinner at Armadillo, where we were served halal lamb chops and a seafood platter – both incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. Our kids loved the desserts too! Throughout the trip, Renata checked in with us regularly, whether we were at a restaurant or around the resort, and always made sure our needs were met. She even arranged a final special dinner at Hunter on our last night. The salmon steak was amazing again, and for our daughter who doesn’t eat seafood, they thoughtfully prepared a bean steak, which she loved. They even surprised us with a special cake at the end of the meal – such a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable. We stayed in a junior suite in Building 9 with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The room was clean and well-maintained with a mangrove view. Contrary to some reviews, we didn’t notice any unpleasant smells. Housekeeping came daily, refreshed the room, and restocked our fridge with water and drinks. The beach was clean and beautiful, though there was some sargassum, which the staff worked hard to clear every day. Finding beach chairs in the morning was tough (many people reserve early), but after around 2 PM, it was easier to find a spot. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Royalton Riviera Cancun. The food, service, and attention to our specific needs—especially thanks to Renata—made this trip incredibly special. We would absolutely love to come back after the resort reopens following the renovations in December. Looking forward to another memorable stay in the future!
