  Beautiful hotel, bad service.

  PRO’S: The hotel itself is very beautifully designed, modern and aesthetic. The grounds were always very well kept and clean. 9/10 Room was cleaned every day. Sometimes they didn’t restock stuff but you can order anything from the app and they bring it right away. 8/10 The beach is spectacular. Blue waters. White sand. Clean. 10/10 CON’S: Food 5/10 This is my 3rd time at a Royalton and 3rd time in Jamaica overall. The food was a disappointment here. I think it’s definitely a Royalton issue and not a Jamaica issue. It’s very easy to tell what royalton spends their money on and what they don’t. Cheap ingredients and cheap food. The chefs do their best. Jamaica night at the buffet was the best night they had in my opinion. One of the chefs at the pasta station told us that they would never eat this food. Lol not the best thing to hear when we’re literally waiting for him to cook it. But that should say enough. The Jerk hut saved this review. The jerk was great even though the rice was hard to swallow. Service: 2/10. The service is extremely bad. The buffet service was the worst we experienced. Service will make or break your experience in my opinion. We’re a group of 10 and instead of seating us at a large table with 10 seats (they have a lot of these large tables available) the hostess gives us a table setup for 6. After telling her that we can’t fit on this table she says “ok I’ll get you another one” and walks away and ignored us for the next 20 minutes. Seating other parties and leaving us waiting and staring at the large unoccupied tables. We ended up seating ourselves and wiping the table ourself while the workers stared at us and didn’t say a word. Only ONE server helped us, she was so nice and so much better than the rest of them, we tipped her a LOT. The buffet was the WORST. The manager walks around and does nothing. He lectured my friend about her short skirt in the buffet but cannot notice his workers doing the bare minimum. Our best servers were the women. Everyday at the buffet was pulling teeth for basic service like water or something else to drink. We did 2 a la carts. Hunter steakhouse 2/10. This is my 3rd hunter steakhouse and it’s the worst one. Punta Cana and negril is 100% better. We sat at 8:15 and didn’t leave until 10, they’re that slow. The restaurant was empty. And the steaks were poor, food was cold and overcooked. Calypso had very good service and the food was good: 8/10 We couldn’t get into any other restaurant. Pool bar service is good when they have ingredients. Most of the drinks I wanted to try couldn’t be made at the pool bar because they “don’t have it”. When we go to other bars, they can make it. So the workers just didn’t want to stock up the ingredients. Blue waters side pool bar was way better than hideaway side. Service is better there too. They also “shut down the blender” whenever they want so if you order a blended drink during this time you’re SOL. Room service: 4/10 the food quality is low for the room service menu. They also take a very long time (over 1.5 hours) OR they ignore your request entirely. There were a few times that we ordered and got nothing. Vibe team is ok. Nothing crazy but they play good songs at the pool bar and take requests. I suggest to bring your own speaker because they cater the music to certain people (surprise surprise) Club is BUMPING! 9/10 for the sports bar. 0/10 for the sports bar food. The food is TERRIBLE. We left the resort a few times during our stay to do other things so my overall experience in Jamaica is 9/10. But if I stayed at this resort the full time, I would have a much lower review. So royalton, I give you 5/10. Good thing your beach is amazing!

  Hideway Review Honest and Fair (Sort of Stuck on Whether to Return)

  I want to start out and say the wife and I had a great time for the 4 nights/5 days we vacationed at the Hideway..The resort as far as the wife and I are concerned is a solid 4 Stars 100%!!! You are within a minute or 2 of a walk to all of the places to eat as well as the gym and most important the pool bar was right there along with the beach( very important for us). The resort is plush and well maintained!!! We have been to all inclusive's where you have to wait for a golf cart shuttle bus to take you to any of the restaurants/etc. Usually not Fun. The Hideway staff was always a pleasure to deal with on a steady basis!!! that love/service we received by the staff is what made our trip by far.. RiRI from the concierge service checked in with us every morning to see if we needed anything again the love/service was the best. Then you have Marvin at the pool bar that had a great personality that made the day happier and brighter from all the fun conversation we had and the drinks never hurt by no means. The house cleaner Asha was a pleasure as well with a wonderful smile every day and did a great job cleaning our room especially with the shower leaking as much as it was. Our showers was leaking so much that we needed extra towels just for the leak. Also you could tell by the amount of new silicone applied around the shower and the mold that was there this was happening way before our check in. Hideway YOU MUST DO BETTER!!! Unfortunately we did not notice this leak until the next morning. The wife and I were already unpacked and had no desire to repack and move so the extra towels were needed every day. The food at the restaurant was a steady 6 to 7 and the buffet was a solid 7 to 7.5. I can sit here and critique each meal but I believe the rating speak for itself. Again the staff is what really made the dining a pleasure!!! The only restaurant that really needs a overhaul is the Italian restaurant.. I know we are at a all inclusive and not going to get good Italian food like my hometown "Da Bronx". But I ordered a pizza with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese with arugula and prosciutto it was on there menu. But what I received was on some kind of round dough bread with cheddar cheese and kale with some burned up slices of no clue what it was.. The second or third day we had lunch at the Italian restaurant we waited almost 1 1/2 hours, the first 1/2 hr was fine as the wine was flowing after about a hour we were like ok seems like this is taking a little to much time and finally about 20 mins later our lunch arrived cold as well and not the pizza I ordered.haha In closing for what we paid for our vacation we believe the resort was worth it. Our room definitely needed a face lift for sure and some of the restaurant need some new chefs to say the least. The ground and staff is what really made this resort a thought for another visit in the future!!!

  Second time here and there will be many more to come. Beautiful island with beautiful,fun,happy people. The entire stay was a whirlwind of fun and great memories. Special shout-out to Molly from the vibe team for bringing the energy everyday!!!! We love her

  MOLLY! Great member of the vibe team who brought the vibes everyday. Her trivia’s were amazing and she was very welcoming. We love it here and we are definitely coming back. The food was great,the service was great as well. The vibe team was definitely a vibe
